"Mr..."
Laras' hand suddenly grabbed Asha's arm, holding Asha's steps away.
"Yes?"
"Why is it so good for me?"?"
Asha unblinkingly looked at Laras, then with a slight tremble in her grasp the hand of Laras that was attached to her arm.
"Because I know what it's like to be an orphan. I just don't want the kid to feel like we're both going through, growing up in an orphanage and crying to see other children have complete parents while we only dream to see father and mother. If I don't marry you to the Ivory mas, the fate of the boy will be more than our suffering, he'll not only be lonely but will be everyone's scorn." The sentence sounded smooth and orderly, in a clear rhythm.
"Is it just because of that?" The barrel bit his lower lip, as if he wished Asha to say other things again.
"What do you want to hear again?"
Asha asked in a sharp tone.
"Do I have to have another reason? Or do you wish I had other words?"
"It's not like that..." Barrel took his hand off doubtfully.
"Wheel..." Asha mentioned the name of the woman in front of him with great emphasis.
"I'm also a Laras woman, don't you think I'm numb to the name of jealousy, I swear almost crazy when I hear you're pregnant with an Ivory mas boy. But I try to be wise. Not everything has to be done with self-interest. Even for that we have to sacrifice our own feelings." Asha smiled faintly.
"If you feel good, we're going to the doctor, your health is more important now." Asha walked towards the door.
"Was...would Asha's mother take me?"
"Yes, who else?" Asha turned around as her hand had already touched the doorknob.
"Oh..." Laras hid the look of his suddenly changed face.
For some reason, Asha caught there was a hope in the eye it was caught glittering, as if hoping it was not Asha who drove her away.
...***...
GECK! GECK! GECK!
Knock on the door of Asha's room at 22:00 p.m.
Asha who was just about to climb onto the bed, frowned her forehead.
"Who is that?" Ivory who was busy with a cell phone in her hand while lying down, asked indifferently.
GECK!GECK! GECK! GECK!
The beat sounded louder and longer.
"Mr..." There was a female voice, for a moment Asha was dumbfounded, it was the voice of Laras.
After 7 more months, since their wedding never once did Laras dare to knock on Asha and Ivory rooms, even though their rooms were opposite.
But tonight, hearing Laras do it, made Asha surprised.
"Who?" Now Ivory took his eyes off his phone screen and looked at Asha who was momentarily pecking at the edge of the bed in her short pajamas.
"That's the sound of Laras..." Asha swallowed her own saliva. His eyes did not blink looking at the door, looking worried.
"Sir.this is me Laras..." That voice sounded soft.
With long strides Asha approached the door, unlocked it and when the door opened, Laras in front of her with a deathly pale face while holding her stomach.
"Help me, ma'am..."
"Well..." Asha gawked looking at Laras who was half-bending as if holding something back.
"I felt my stomach ache from this afternoon. I guess..only common stomach pain.but.but the pain is getting more and more often..." Barrel was holding on to the edge of the door with his left hand, while his other hand was still holding his stomach.
Sweat the size of a corn seed decorated his deathly pale face.
"Are you going to give birth?" Asha's mouth opened, half confused, then suddenly panicked.
"Mas! Mas! Kemaryanaah....!!!" Asha shouted while propping up Laras' body.
"What's up, anyway?" Ivory appeared behind Asha, looking at the two women in confusion.
"Asha seems to be going into labor, the doctor warned a week ago if the Laras delivery was waiting for the day." Asha answered nervously.
"But, how to take it? he's not strong walking like it." Asha looked at Ivory.
"We're taking Laras to the maternity clinic now..."
"But..."
"No buts, Iwading wants to see her giving birth in front of the bedroom door?" Asha glared at the reluctant looking Ivory.
Well, since Ivory held Laras who fainted from the sofa up to his room yesterday, Ivory looks very bad if you have to intersect with Laras.
"I know, even if you're quiet, you don't like me touching Laras." That is the reason Ivory, after that time completely avoid contact with Laras even though sometimes just passing by.
"Buck...!"
"Well..."
"Don't just be so dumb..." Asha pulls Ivory hand.
"Yes..but what should I do?" Ivory momentarily confused himself.
"Take him to the car, mas...I'm gonna grab my maternity bag, change my clothes."
"But..."
Not even Ivory had time to say anything more, Asha had handed over the limp body of Asha to Ivory.
"Bring him now..." Pinta Asha was unable to refute, her tense face was so serious. Then without speaking again left Laras staggering in the arms of Ivory.
...***...
Asha held the hand of Laras firmly. While Laras looks in pain.
"This new opening 6 Barrels you must be strong." Asha tried to strengthen the woman who is now sitting curved on top of the patient's bed.
Doctors have just given an epidural anesthetic injection to relieve the pain of contractions. Looks like the pain in Laras is quite strong.
Ivory after delivering Asha and Laras to the clinic, without saying much farewell home.
"I don't need to be here..."
"But, mas...The barrel will give birth."
"What's taking care of people giving birth is the doctor, what can I do?" Ivory face looks cold.
"Later if Laras gives birth, who will accompany him?"
"Aren't there you?"
"Will anyone ask her husband?"
"Who asked? Who cares who's wife?"
The small debate took place when Asha tried to hold Ivory home.
"It's..." Ivory thrust an ATM card into Asha's hand.
"I hope everything will be okay, let me know if you want to be picked up." Ivory without sinner waddled away, without any more time Asha said anything.
"Mr..." Laras touches Asha's arm, awakening Asha from her daydream.
"I'm going downstairs to get you a drink..." Barrels are slurring.
"Let me just." Asha immediately went to the table, took out a bottle of mineral water, opened it and handed it to Laras.
"Will...does.. Mr. Ivory come here?" Laras' lips trembled as he asked the sentence, a question that made Asha speechless, only to blink his eyes looking at Laras who was wrongly drinking water from the bottle with a straw that Asha gave.
