Asha opened the door of the unlocked room.
"Mr Asha..." Laras who was putting on Zyan's clothes after bathing him, smiled at Asha's arrival.
"How are you this morning, Zyan?" Asha looked at the fresh-looking baby on top of the bed.
"His umbilical cord was gone this morning mbak, bath time." Answer Laras with a face of sumringah.
"Oh, yeah. Zyan was already a big boy now.A week alone made him seem twice as big as the first time I held him." Asha smiled as she touched the little baby's chin.
"Yes, mom. He's bigger now." Laras hands the baby to Asha after getting dressed, knowing that when Asha walks into her room, Asha will hold Zyan. The only person in the house who would hold her child was Bi Irah, the Pramudian household assistant.
"Wheel..." Asha called out the name Laras quietly, although her eyes remained fixed on the baby in her hands.
"I really want to talk to you." Asha sighed for a moment.
"Yes, what's wrong, ma'am?" Laras frowned and let Asha sit on a chair not far from her bed.
"I want you not to misunderstand me." Asha opened carefully.
"Regarding your relationship with the Ivory mas." Asha was silent for a moment, tidying up her seat while holding Zyan in her hand.
"I think now is the time to recall the deal we made, when you were pregnant with Zyan a few months ago."
The sentence sounded smooth and careful but instantly made Laras' face stiffen.
"Did you remember?" Asha asked while raising her face.
Baras did not budge, his breathing was restrained but he did not answer anything.
"Zyan was born safe, it's time to free yourself from this burden. And we know the time has come, you can go back to your life. Now I want to demand your promise to get a divorce from the Ivory mas." Asha stared intently at Laras, who was only stunned.
"And for Zyan, I think Ivory mas will still be responsible for this child, I am willing to raise Zyan along with the Ivory mas like my own child. I've been talking about this with the Ivory mas." Asha's eyes turned to the baby who was now sleeping in her arms.
Laras did not say a word, except that his unblinking eyes were staring at Asha.
"Wheel..." Asha reprimanded slowly, looking at the silent Laras, her brows furrowed as if waiting for a response from Laras.
"I.ah..." Laras.
"I sincerely on behalf of my husband, apologize if you have to endure the disgrace of my husband, from the very beginning between you there is really nothing to do but get involved because of a mistake outside of his consciousness. I, too, have been heartened to reveal what happened, nothing can be preserved from forced marriage, and from the beginning we know this marriage is only to cover up disgrace. Therefore the best solution of all the hassles that occur is a divorce between you and the Ivory mas." Asha took a breath, and shook her hand slowly, as Zyan who was asleep on her arm squirmed slightly.
"Then, when you came to me, telling me about your pregnancy at such a sudden moment and on the verge of me sitting in the mop with the Ivory mas, there was nothing I could do and in my frustration, she said, I can hardly think of anything, except for the one who got married to my husband to save the situation. And now, that storm has subsided, all the things we have to return to it. Thanks for your understanding. All for the good of us together." The length and width of the sentence was conveyed by Asha, but Laras only stuck, his eyes could not be separated from the baby in Asha's hands.
"Did you hear me?" Ask Asha.
"Yes.yes.I hear you, mbak."
"How's it?"
"I said it, right?" Asha asked with squashed eyes looking at Laras' suddenly strange reaction.
"Oh..." Laras stood with a changed look, sticking out his hand as if asking for the baby who was now in Asha's arms.
"I have heard all that Asha's mother has said, I understand the meaning of Asha's mother. And none of it I missed." Laras said a little differently to the way he talked to Asha all this time, which he heard a little riled up.
"Do I have to get divorced now?" Asked then, without looking into Asha's eyes, he busied himself with the baby in his hands.
"After 40 days of Zyan's age, then Mas Gading will turn you in..." Answer Asha.
"40 days?"
"Yes, another month..."
Laras's eyes blinked and looked at Asha, then for a moment he challenged Asha's eyes, the first time Laras actually challenged the eyes of the woman who had become her honey.
"I just want you to prepare from now on, so that this will be easy for you..." Asha said, his eyes could not be separated from Laras.
"Mr Asha, may I speak?" The question that came out of Barrel's mouth sounded flat.
Asha was amazed, for a moment she realized Laras was acting completely different from the Laras she had known in the past few months.
"Yes, speak..."
"I understand very well what Asha's words mean. No need to worry, I will accept my divorce with the Ivory mas. I know exactly, even though I was married to her but she never had any feelings for me. In fact, my Ivory sir hates to see me. It wasn't his fault at all. Only bad luck is on my side. After being inhumanely raped, then it was fortunate that Asha allowed me to hide behind this fake marriage to cover everything. It's all my fault, it's really my fault, it's too weak and stupid. No need to remind me Asha many times, I am ready to divorce with Ivory sir, even if Mr. Ivory does it now." The words spoken by Laras sounded cold, with an expressionless face.
This was the first time Asha had heard Laras talking to her so long and uninterruptedly. The innocence that Asha had seen all this time, instantly evaporated when Laras uttered it with a hardened jaw.
Asha's unblinking eyes stared at Asha, she was trying to digest word by word which at the end of her sentence became the sarcasm.
"And there's one more thing that Asha I want to ask you..." The barrel raised its tapered-looking chin.
"What if I suddenly change my mind a little?" laras' question was thrown in a low tone but made Asha stunned once again.
"Change mind? What do you mean, Laras?"
