Chapter 37 - I'm Dumb!

At the apartment Melati waited anxiously. Alfaro had earlier chatted with her that Ranita was in the club with Teddy and his friends. He said praying something would happen. Of course the chat made Melati more unsettled. And until now it's almost 11 pm Alfaro has not told you again.

"Lord, protect Ranita. Please Alfaro. Please.." jasmine prayer.

He said he would send Alfaro a chat. But not answered, just read no. Well, did something happen? Are they in danger? Melati really can't calm down.

Almost every minute jasmine looks at the clock on the wall. He moved position intermittently. Everything feels uncomfortable.

Melati remembers the incident when Ranita was angry with her that night. She doesn't even want Melati in her apartment. Remember that Melati is very sad. But she couldn't let Ranita act stupid.

Father's words proved. I told you, whatever happens Melati must stay by Ranita's side. It's okay to be hated, as long as it takes him to stay on the right track. It's coming true now. Ranita was angry and hated him. Since it was the night he was angry, they rarely spoke. Ranita avoided her.

Alfaro had parked his car in the parking lot of the apartment. He looked towards Ranita. The girl is still silent.

"I'm scared, Al. Melati must hate me. I did something stupid. Yes, I am a fool" said Ranita.

"You know Melati better than I do" Alfaro said.

Ranita crying. "Dying always reminds me to be careful. I was angry with him. I feel like he's meddling in my business too much. Why am I so blind?" Ranita sobbing.

Alfaro clasped Ranita's hand. The girl's shoulders shook holding back so that her cries did not come out hard. Alfaro pulled Ranita's head to her chest. Let the girl cry until she is satisfied.

"That's it... You're home now. I'm with you" said Alfaro. Ranita was quiet. But the crying began to subside.

Again he scrunched his forehead, enduring the whack again.

"Come, you need to get some rest." Alfaro released his embrace on Ranita. He got out of the car. Ranita came down, but her body was full when she started walking. Alfaro.

They arrived in front of the apartment. Ranita's body is getting limp. Alfaro hugged her keeping her from falling. Alfaro knocked on the door.

From inside the door opened. Melati was surprised to see the scene in front of her. Alfaro held onto Ranita who was about to faint. Soon Alfaro held Ranita. Melati shows Ranita's room and Alfaro lays Ranita on the bed. Ranita could not open her eyes. His head felt spinning, dizzy, and very sick.

"What's going on?" ask Melati.

"Make him ginger honey." Alfaro said, not answering Melati's question. Jump Jasmine into the kitchen making drinks for Ranita.

Alfaro sat down near Ranita and looked at Ranita who was lying weakly. Seeing Ranita she remembered her sister, Atika. Just like Atika, Ranita is a jolly and cheerful girl. Always laughing and joking. Slowly Alfaro rubbed Ranita's head.

There was a sense of wanting to protect this girl in his heart. When Teddy almost took the girl, he was really angry.

"Al, thank you. If you don't exist, I don't know what I'll be like. It must have ruined my life" Ranita said.

"Dear who asked me to follow you" said Alfaro. "She's very worried something's going on with you."

"Darken?" ranita lirih.

"Yes. For almost two weeks I followed you. Melati asked me to do it at the right time. Like a few days late, I don't know." Alfaro took a deep breath.

"I'm a fool." Ranita cursed herself again. He was truly sorry not to hear his best friend's warning.

"That's it. It's all done." Alfaro calms Ranita down.

"If he's after me?" Ranita. Ranita means if Teddy's gonna find her again.

"I will protect you" Alfaro said.

"really? You promise?" ranita asked while looking at Alfaro. He held Alfaro's hand.

In front of the room door, Melati saw everything. All the words of Alfaro and Ranita. There was a sense of relief flowing in his chest. Alfaro is reliable.

"I..." Melati. Alfaro. Jasmine approaches with a glass of warm honey ginger.

"Drink first, Ran." Alfaro receives the glass and helps Ranita drink. "Now rest. Dizziness in your head will be gone tomorrow."

Ranita was quiet. He had not dared to face Melati. He doesn't know what to say.

"I'm home." Alfaro got up and left the room. Melati followed the guy.

"Al, I'm really grateful. You kept your promise. As friends, you look after us" said Melati.

"Thank you for believing me." Alfaro smiles.

Alfaro left the apartment. Melati locked the door and returned to Ranita's room. The girl tried to wake up.

"What do you want, Ran?" ask Melati.

"To the bathroom" replied Ranita. Melati helps Ranita. He took Ranita's change of clothes. He helped his friend clean his body. After that he helped Ranita back to lie in her bed.

"Mails..." Ranita. Melati looked at Ranita. "I'm sorry."

Melati hugged Ranita and kissed her best friend's forehead.

"My company, yes." said Ranita. Melati.

That night they slept in the room. Ranita wakes up shocked several times due to nightmares. Last night's events were still so sticky and still made her feel scared. Each Ranita awoke she cried and Melati hugged her tightly calmed her down.

Until a few days later Melati was still sleeping with Ranita. To get to campus, Alfaro is ready to shuttle. Sometimes jasmine also comes if you can together.

With frequent with Ranita and Alfaro increasingly familiar. Melati is happy. It's not impossible if they can make more of a relationship. Because the incident that night made Ranita very safe with Alfaro. And Alfaro's protective attitude was so strong on both of them, both Ranita and Melati.

"You're getting closer, yeah..." Jasmine tidied the book on the shelf. Alfaro.

"You mean close how?" Alfaro asked, glancing at Melati and continuing to organize the book.

"You know what I mean" said Melati.

"Are we in love?" ask Alfaro again. "Mel, you're this. I like you, you ask me this." Alfaro scratched his head.

"I'm not single, Al." Smile Jasmine wide. "The woman is fragile. He needs a strong man like you. But soft and protective."

"Hmm. baby, those characteristics don't qualify you" Alfaro said.

Melati smiled thinly. Alfaro followed Melati to the next shelf. "I don't know either. Since that incident I remember Atika. Ranita looks like my sister. I feel like I'll always take care of her."

"It could be a good start, Al," said Melati.

"Of course." Alfaro looked at Melati.

In his heart his admiration for Melati had not diminished. How could he easily forget his feelings knowing such a noble-hearted girl? Who wouldn't wish he could have it? But, Alfaro also did not want to hurt his heart. If he were to forcefully chase after her there would only damage their relationship. He managed to make Melati want to be good friends and can be close now.
