Chapter 36 - Following Ranita

That afternoon when I kept a watch schedule at the library. Usually this afternoon Alfaro will come to the library. If Melati usually does not care much about Alfaro coming or not, this time Melati hopes the guy comes.

It's past 2, but Alfaro hasn't shown up yet. Should he chat with a guy? Melati is still considering her point. While Melati records the book report out on the computer.

"Hi, turn the book around." Melati looked over hearing that. It's Alfaro.

"Ah, yes." Melati smiled and received the book from Alfaro.

"Thank you, yeah..." Alfaro stepped in to leave the library. He only returned the books.

"Al.." call Melati.

"Yes, Mel?" Alfaro turned his body back to the counter.

"At busy?" ask Melati.

"Actually want to practice, anyway. The band will perform next week. Why?" Alfaro asked back. Tumben Melati held him down.

"I want time and help" Melati replied.

"Efforting?" ask Alfaro again.

"It can be said so," said Melati.

"Hmmm... If it's 5 o'clock?" alfaro.

"Yes, I can..." Melati.

"In the canteen?" Alfaro raised his eyebrows.

"okay." Melati smile. "Thank you."

Alfaro. In his heart he asked. What does Melati need him for? Is this a sign that he's starting to open up opportunities for Alfaro? Or does Jasmine have a problem? I don't know.

Melati went back to her work. Alfaro also headed for the studio to train. Ever since Melati came out of Red Sky, the band has struggled to find singers who are as level as Melati. Finally it can too, but Alfaro's attitude is less like. Name's Devina. His style is a little haughty and pretentious. But what the hell else? He's the nicest of the few who fit the criteria.

At 5 less than 10, Alfaro has arrived at the cafeteria. Melati has not arrived yet. He chose to sit in the back corner, waiting there. Fifteen minutes passed and finally Melati came.

"I'm sorry, I'm late. It's old?" ask Melati. He sat in front of Alfaro.

"Ga too. What do you want to eat?" ask Alfaro. "All you dinners, yeah..."

"Hmm, I can. Chicken noodles only," said Melati. Then they ordered food.

"What's up, Mel?" Alfaro finally asked.

"Finally thank you for giving me time. And also apologize for asking for your help. It's gonna trouble you, Al. But I don't know who to ask for help. You knew me long ago. We are from the same city. I think I can trust you," Melati said starting their conversation.

Alfaro was wondering what Melati wanted.

"What's really going on?" ask Alfaro.

"It's about Ranita" replied Melati. "I feel him..." And Melati told me what happened to Ranita lately.

Melati was really worried about her best friend. Moreover, the burden he brought from Malang, Melati's parents request that she take care of Ranita. Melati also asks Alfaro for help to accompany her following Ranita.

Alfaro listened seriously to all of Melati's stories. He was quite surprised by all this. But according to him it is also natural, a person can change and be affected by his environment.

"You want to help me?" smart Jasmine. "I asked for help as a friend. And you said you wanted to look after your friend. Please..."

"You also have a sister. I think if this happened to your sister you'd be worried too. I'm sorry, I'm not praying..."

"It's okay, I get it. Only Atika died last year, because of DB," Alfaro said.

"Oo. sorry, I didn't expect." Melati looked at the guy. There was a sad look from the look in his eyes.

"Yes. It is ok." said Alfaro flat. "I'll help you. We have to make a plan so that Ranita doesn't get suspicious."

And they also set how and when they will follow Ranita. Alfaro is quite popular on campus because of his father's high state officials. Until he had a lot of acquaintances. He can easily find info about Ranita's friends including, Teddy.

"Teddy looks good, but he's a crocodile. She likes to go to nightclubs and play girls. Ranita could be there because of Teddy." That's what Alfaro told Melati after some time searching for info.

"I'll be following Ranita to the club this week. I'll make sure I get everything you need as proof" Alfaro said.

"Al, I'm so grateful. You are a good friend" said Melati.

Justright. Alfaro followed Ranita throughout the week. Fortunately, his college assignments were almost all cramped. So he had plenty of time to complete the mission from Melati. Alfaro follows Ranita in a rented vehicle. He also did a little disguise so that friends who might know him were not suspicious.

That night at 8 Ranita and his friends came to the club. This is a club far from the apartment. Not the club that Melati had seen Ranita at that time. They had a party because one of their friends had a birthday.

Ranita was actually quite careful. He does not smoke, does not drink alcohol with high levels, even if he drinks occasionally. He drinks soft drinks more often. The atmosphere of the club is getting crowded. Especially when the DJ has started to act, they are on the floor and crazy.

In the middle of that atmosphere, Ranita seemed to laugh jokingly with her friends. Each one with his partner. Ranita also looks alone with Teddy. Teddy started drinking. In the dimness with the floodlights spinning throughout the room, Alfaro could see Teddy getting closer to Ranita. The girl did not reply to Teddy's aggressive attitude. But he also did not refuse.

Moments later, Ranita shifted her gaze to her friend who spoke loudly to invite them toast for the birthday. Applause, cheers, and boisterous laughter add to the festivities. Alfaro notices Teddy who pours a drink in a glass and then thrusts it at Ranita. Ranita did not accept it right away. He asked something while looking at his drink. Teddy drew his face closer and whispered into Ranita's ear. Ranita then drank from the glass she held.

"Basic of crocodiles" said Alfaro. But he could not rashly act. If he forces Ranita out now, he's looking to die. There will be chaos in the club. Alfaro continued to watch them.

"Hi, Cute. By himself? Relax, yukk..." A woman approached Alfaro. Beautiful, sexy, and attractive.

"Sorry, I'm waiting for someone" Alfaro replied.

"Relatedly? If he doesn't come looking for me, yeah.hmm..." The woman rubbed Alfaro's face. Alfaro brushed off the woman's hand.

"Go there," Alfaro said expressionlessly.

The woman left while waving a kiss bye. Alfaro turned towards Ranita. The girl was no longer there. Alfaro searched among the many people in the room. That's her! Teddy pulled Ranita's hand out of the club. Alfaro followed them.

Outside they don't look. Alfaro scratched his head. Where'd they? Parklands. Yes, Alfaro rushed towards the parking lot. Slender. Alfaro searched through the rows of cars lined up. He made sure they were still there.

"Ahh.. don't.." sayup-sayup Alfaro heard a voice. He quickly pointed his feet towards the sound.

"Remove... uhhuuhkkk. please, off.... Uuhhuukkk..." The voice became clearer.

"Calm down, honey, this isn't gonna hurt. Or you want me to play rough. Hm..." And it's obviously a male voice.

Therehewas. Just in a fancy car. The car door is not even closed!!

"I.. I. I. don't.. want to..." Ranita tries to push Teddy who has been oppressing her. But he's gone limp. I don't know what drink Teddy gave me. He's feeling very dizzy. Like there is no energy.

"You said you loved me. Prove it, honey, don't omdo it..." Roughly Teddy kissed Ranita. Then pull the girl's skimpy t-shirt. Ranita immediately screamed softly, trying to rebel, mixed with tears that exploded.

Ranita scared. But he can do what! She had not expected the good man she loved to be this evil.

Suddenly, someone pulled Teddy roughly. He fell to the floor. She's surprised. Ranita braced herself and tried to get up.

"Please.help me.." she said softly. The girl's body was trembling. His face was pale with tears.

Alfaro immediately beat Teddy mercilessly. Teddy didn't even get up. He stuck to it many times, he kicked it, until Teddy wriggled in pain and could only groan for mercy.

"Fuck! If you want to go crazy, do not be the same girl who is still innocent. Look for the same depraved as you," said Alfaro angrily.

"Looks good. If I see you approaching Ranita, you're finished. And your father the office you're proud of will know that his son is just a venereal criminal." Once again Alfaro kicked him. Teddy groaned loudly.

Then she quickly helped Ranita. His body is so limp. Alfaro picked up Ranita and took her to his place to park the car. Ranita just complies. But he was obviously still scared.

"who?" said lirih. Alfaro wears a hoody that has a head covering. She covered her head so no one would recognize her. He also wears a mask that covers his mouth and nose.

Already in the car, Alfaro opens his mask and hoody headgear. "Me, Ran," he said.

Ranita raised her eyes. "Al.." said Ranita slowly. She immediately cried. He closed his face with both hands. There was incredible relief scooping his heart.

Alfaro took off the hoody and put it on Ranita. Because the shirt Ranita was wearing was torn. Then he hugged Ranita to calm her down.

Ranita was crying. From his cries Alfaro could capture regret, relief, and gratitude.

"Thank you, Al," Ranita said slowly.

"We're home" Alfaro asked.

Ranita. "I don't want Melati to see me like this" he said.

"Delati already know," said Alfaro.

"You mean?" Ranita asked. "Well.my head..." Ranita holds her head. The dizziness became more and more piercing.

"Later the story," said Alfaro and he immediately ran a car carrying Ranita to the apartment.
