Chapter 43

Stories told by Lauren.

" You were my daughter Nathalia.., until you were my daughter.."

" Mom tell me what momy wants to tell me, even though it's bitter I'll try to stay strong."

Lauren looked at Fikri as if she wanted to ask if it was the right decision to tell Natalia about the events 23 years ago.

" Maybe it's time to let go of all the burdens that remain in your heart." Fikri.

Lauren let out a long sigh then walked over and sat down beside Natalia.

" Hear son, son, maybe what I'm about to tell you will make you feel sick and feel lied to but I tell you first that I did all this to erase all the bad memories and also the request of someone who asked me to never again remember about her."

" Good." Nathalia closed her eyes then she smiled as if she was ready to hear the bitter story that has always been covered by Lauren.

" My name was Kristen Laura Bella. I married the man I love, Hektor. We have been married for 10 years but we have not been entrusted to take care of our children. All the effort we had done but did not go to make results until We had a big fight because Hector considered that I was too focused on the restaurant that was then our search."

" Hektor blames me for not wanting to add employees so the tube baby program we always planned always failed. Of course because I'm too tired to take care of the restaurant alone."

" Until one day, Hektor came to take a woman who claimed to be pregnant with Hektor's child." While recounting this passage and remembering how Lauren insisted on rejecting the woman but Hektor instead chose to keep her, Lauren's tears could no longer be contained.

Lauren then recounted the incident after they had a fight at the restaurant. Where Hektor chose to keep the woman who was later known as Imelda was because Imelda was pregnant.

Hektor never returned home after the incident made Lauren even more resentful of the woman named Imelda.

Although initially Imelda offers to take care of the baby she contains together but Lauren's heart still can not accept betrayal.

Lauren then decides to take care of the divorce papers.

But when the divorce file just arrived at the revision stage, the, Lauren heard the news that Hector and Imelda had an accident when they were going to visit a doctor to check the contents of Imelda who was then 4 months old.

Because none of them had family, Lauren was contacted by the police.

Lauren hastily drove her vehicle at high speed to the hospital because the one in her mind was Hektor.

Although Lauren feels betrayed and does not know who here is actually wrong but Lauren is unable to close her eyes and ears when she learns that Hektor had an accident.

Several days hospitalized Lauren decided to take Imelda also in their home.

Living with a woman who had destroyed her household certainly made Lauren feel awkward but all that she did as a form of humanity.

Hektor actually had a family but they all lived in other parts of the country far away.

That's where Imelda and Hector met. Starting from the story of his home life that was not given their children then decided to establish a closer bond so that they did something they should not do to make Imelda pregnant.

Imelda was officially divorced when she met Hektor and became a friend.

" Does Momy still hold the woman?"

" Yes, because we met and communicated often, Momy finally got to know Imelda well and accepted her as a friend but not as honey. Our lives went well, and so did your Mom and Dad. We introduce Imelda as a brother to those who ask."

" What happened then?"

" Imelda says she's willing to be the surrogate mother of my son and Hektor."

" I don't understand."

" The accident made the cell inside Imelda unfertilized. But her uterus is still good for holding a baby, while my own uterus does not allow me to get pregnant. So I volunteered to offer her womb to take the baby away from me and Hektor."

"Hector said maybe this is the answer from God to my desire and patience to get a child until I finally agreed to it."

" A few months after the process ended as usual, we were still living as well as we should but when the age of the womb was 7 months, he said, Imelda shows her true nature as a selfish woman and willing to win by herself. She told everyone that she was purposely made into a surrogate womb by me. She turned all the facts around and said as if this is where I'm most guilty of forcing her to take our baby."

" It's so bad, so what did Hektor do?" Ask Natalia.

" I plead with Imelda and Hektor to bring one of you so that there is still something I can bring as a reminder of my love and my dream of becoming a mother."

" I kept pleading with them both but Imelda cleanly said that the baby was the baby and Hektor. When I was desperate because all the efforts I did were fruitless and I began to decide to leave the country. Hektor came and said that I could bring one of you. On condition that I should go as far away from their sight as possible."

Natalia closed her eyes, feeling that what Hektor and Imelda were doing was absolutely outrageous.

Natalia chose to go inside the room because she felt today was enough to hear a story that was so heartbreaking.

" I'm going to go into the room first, and tomorrow I want to ask again about myself and Nathan who turns out to be siblings."
