The Side Away

The Side Away
Coffee analogy

Too late to regret.

Laura combed her hair in a slow motion, she stared at the reflection of her face in the mirror. Gino stood behind him with a hard to interpret expression. The events of that night, beyond his estimation. Something he had managed well ended up just missing. I don't know who's to blame. She or Gino, while love won't ruin her self-esteem.

"Sorry La."

"Why are you doing that No?" laura asked disappointed.

"I love you La. And I want to marry you."

"I thought you were sincere in love with me. It turned out that I was wrong," Laura put her comb on the table, she looked at Gino through the mirror with a disappointed expression. "You're a jerk No." he said.

"La, I know you're disappointed, but I'm not a jerk. Compared to Mario, I'm nothing."

Laura turned around then looked at Gino with anger reaching its peak.

"Don't bring Mario, it's about me as you. Not anyone else No!" laura said loudly almost like a scream.

"La, how big was my mistake?" ask Gino in frustration.

"You've taken something precious, something I take good care of. Something you shouldn't have taken No!"

"Sorry La."

"Go, I don't want to see you."

"La, why are you acting like this?" ask Gino.

"Get out No!"

A throw of cosmetic equipment hit Gino's face causing a scratch on the man's cheek. Laura touched her heavy head, the shadow of the past coming back to haunt her. He fell out of his chair with great fear.

"Aragh!" laura shouted loudly, she sat hugging her knees with a trembling body.

The voices in her head were earthy causing Laura to shiver. She needed medicine, with a rough move she opened her dresser drawer. The medicine was not there.

"Medicine." said Laura Lirih.

Searching the entire room in the apartment still did not find the cure. Laura even unpacked the neatly arranged cardboard in the corner of the room. However, nil. The medicine disappeared like it had swallowed the earth. His body grew colder with sweat running down his forehead, he really needed the medicine.

His gaze was diverted to the fruit knife that was on the table. Laura grabbed the object, then placed it on her wrist. Before the blade touched his skin, a loud shout filled the room.

"Stop La!"

The knife slammed onto the floor and next Gino hugged him tightly. Laura felt nothing but a voice in her head that kept clinging.

The voice turned into a terrible laughter that haunted his sleep. Laura could not support her weight until her gaze turned dark.

Scratches on the cheeks are painful. Gino wiped his wound using his palm. Inexplicably Laura's emotions suddenly unstable and almost committed a crazy act if she did not prevent it. The first time Gino saw Laura was like that. Five years, it turns out to be able to change the character of a person.

Gino rubbed his wound while smiling bitterly. He pulled out his phone to call David. Right now, Gino needs someone and the choice falls on David.

"Give me the hospital address, I'm there now" David said.

Half an hour later, Gino saw David running up to him with a gasp of breath. The man patted her on the shoulder and watched the room where Laura was.

Gino shook his head. "Don't know, she should be fine after taking her medicine."

"Laura is impossible" David held back his sentence and looked at Gino worriedly. "You make it like that?" tanyakanya.

"David, I want to get some fresh air, please take care of Laura for a moment."

Following his heart carried his steps down the road mingling with other pedestrians. Gino put his hand in his coat pocket waiting for the light to turn green. In that crowded place, Gino felt lonely. He was like a useless person for just watching the girl scream in fear without doing anything. Gino, the talented lawyer lost to the harsh reality that lay before his eyes.

Laura is having a hard time.

When compared to Mario, the man better understand the difficulties of Laura. However, Gino did not want to ask how to handle Laura when the girl was depressed. He had already banned Mario from contacting Laura and even deleted the man's contact number without thinking.

Damnit.

The sound of a car horn resuscitates Gino along with the lights turning green. He continued his steps until he stopped at a cafe. Gino entered the cafe after ordering a cup of black coffee without sugar. He doesn't like coffee. However, a bad mood causes his taste to change.

A cup of coffee was placed on the table. Hot steam billows, for most people who like coffee, it tastes better if drunk in such conditions. For Gino, there is nothing special about coffee that smokes smoke. I don't know what's so special about this high-caffeine drink. He himself does not understand it.

Perhaps the coffee analogy is more aptly aimed at his feelings for Laura.

Gino sipped his coffee. The bitter taste was enough to make him realize, the bitterness of his senses was only temporary. After a pause of the first and second sips, he would get used to that bitter taste. Now Gino has found the answer. From a cup of unsweetened coffee, she understood about loving Laura in her own way.

"If I'm not good enough for you, I will try to be the best for you La" said Gino.

Half an hour spent in the cafe. Gino returns to the hospital and sees David talking to the doctor. He approached them with worry.

"Gino, you're back" David said, pulling Gino away from the doctor. "Something happens to Laura when you're gone."

"What's going on?" ask Gino worriedly.

"Laura kept shouting and crying. Gino, did you do something that scared him?" david asked seriously.

"Over night we're fine. I mean before us," Gino stopped his line, he couldn't tell David about it. "I'll see it." said Gino.

"Laura had just fallen asleep, the doctor gave her a sedative. While this leaves him alone, you'll have to take care of your wounds."

"It's okay, it's just a minor injury" Gino said, then sat in a waiting room chair. He touched his painful cheek, the blood seemed to have stopped flowing. Regardless of what happened to his face, Gino did not remember it at all. "I want to take a nap" he told David.

"Gino, I've known you for years. And this is the first time I've seen you like this. I'm sure there's something you're hiding. Just tell me so I can give you some advice, we best friends are supposed to strengthen each other."

Gino opened his eyes and looked at David reluctantly. "I told you, everything's fine" he said a little annoyed.

"You're not okay. Gino, I'm not stupid to understand the situation. Have you done anything more than just kissing?" ask David to make sure.

"David, go home" said Gino ignoring the question.

"I stayed here until Laura woke up" David said stubbornly.

"As far as you go."
