The Side Away

The Side Away
Flu brings happiness

The doubt re-enters Gino's mind when it comes to setting foot in Laura's apartment unit. She didn't barge in like last night and chose to wait until the door opened and for quite a while she waited, Laura didn't open it. I felt that the girl was not in the apartment. Gino pulled out his phone to contact Laura. However, the call from Ajeng undoes his intentions. Quickly, he received the call while leaning against the wall, looking at the quiet hallway of the apartment.

“Why Jeng?” ask Gino.

“Awas if you weren't nongol in my show. I don't want my marriage to be ruined because aunt Mira panicked the child just didn't turn back. Once-in-a-lifetime event should be smooth, just watch out for you No.”

“Yakin very you will marry once in a lifetime.” taunted Gino.

“Bad You No!”

Gino laughed hearing Ajeng peeking from across there. Nonsense says Javanese women are calm and graceful, proof Ajeng exception. Gino was surprised his cousin could be attracted to a barbarian woman like Ajeng. As he remembered, his cousin was a picky type, let alone concerning a lifetime partner.

It turns out that a soul mate is God's secret.

“Simmer, I will go back.” said Gino soothing, he wiggled his side of his feet feel sore because it is too long standing. “We are already family.”

“Bawain souvenirs yes, all Ferraris have you can also.”

Gino disconnected the connection when he heard the sound of footsteps approaching. However, before that Gino still had time to make fun of Ajeng to hear the curse of the woman from across there.

“Basic Ajeng.” said Gino accompanied by slow stiffness.

Gino kept his phone in his pocket and looked at Laura who was standing not far from him. The expression on the girl's face was hard to guess with a hint of emotion there.

“La?” call Gino slowly.

“Log in advance No.”

Gino followed behind Laura into the apartment. However, the messy condition of the apartment caused Gino to wonder. Does Laura want to move?

“Why are these boxes La?” tanya Gino couldn't stem her curiosity.

Laura shakes. “Just want to sort out the unimportant stuff."

“I help.” Gino rolled up his shirt arm and picked up one of the boxes and lifted it up. However, a fallen frame shocked her when Laura quickly picked up the frame. “Be careful La, your hands can get hurt.” Gino reminded.

It was too late to remind me when I saw blood dripping on the floor. Gino put the cardboard back on and took the frame out of Laura's hand. He took the girl to the sofa then took a broom to clean the broken glass on the floor. Gino carefully took the frame and his heart rippled at the photo of Mario. Laura was willing to get hurt to save that important thing. Gino smiled bitterly and resumed his work of sweeping the floor after removing a photo of Mario from the broken frame.

Finished cleaning up the mess, Gino approached Laura while carrying a medicine box. Staying in that apartment for a few days was enough for him to memorize the location of the medicine box that the girl kept. He grabbed Laura's hand and began to wash away the blood that was still flowing. Gino blew the wound when he heard the girl moaning in pain in a soft voice.

“Hold La, briefly finished kok.” said Gino and then bandaged Laura's wound.

“Still No.”

Gino nodded. “Sama-sama La.”

The atmosphere turned silent as both of them dissolved in each other's minds. Gino remembers the incident that night and also the photo of Mario that he accidentally dropped. With a heavy breath, Gino pulled Laura's shoulder to face her, he needed an explanation of the incident. But for what?

Laura loved someone else.

“La, I want to go back to Indonesia.” said Gino seriously.

“Oh,” say Laura short.

Gino removed his hand from Laura's shoulder, feeling disappointed by the flat expression the girl showed. She hoped Laura would hug her and hold her back from returning to Indonesia, but Laura was just plain ordinary.

It seems Gino is too hopeful. That feeling he should have thrown away.

“Then I go back to La.” said Gino and got up from his seat.

“No,”

Gino held back his steps as he felt his arm being firmly blocked.

“Why La?” tanya Gino tried to restrain herself from hugging the girl.

“Do not go.”

Gino's self-defense collapsed upon hearing the sentence, he turned around then hugged the girl. Letting the silence in the apartment bear witness to his unstoppable feelings.

Can't you love someone who already has a boyfriend?

Gino did not care and increasingly tightly embraced Laura.

***

Initially Laura wanted to let Gino go and just be normal to hear the man wanted to return to Indonesia. He also heard clearly Gino's conversation with Ajeng because Laura had been there from the beginning and noticed the man talking while laughing. His best friend could make Gino behave cheerfully most likely they love each other.

So, don't blame Laura for being selfish by asking Gino to stay at her apartment. She wanted to see the man completely before marrying anyone else. And with her crazy Laura volunteered to sleep in the same room, fortunately Gino refused and the incident did not happen. She was like a bitch who ensnared the man she loved in a cheap way.

Having been in a four-year relationship with Mario, not once did Laura want someone to sleep next to her like she wanted Gino.

Crazy one!

The knock on her bedroom door woke Laura from the daydream. He opened the door and saw Gino standing there wearing only a towel wrapped around his waist. Laura was surprised to see Gino's athletic body, which was completely different when the man was wearing full clothes.

“Why No?” laura asked after her consciousness returned.

“I pulled my words that do not want to sleep with you.”

Eh?

Before Laura mastered her surprise, Gino had already pulled her hand and threw her body on the bed. He stared at Gino's face under the dim lights of his room and the soapy scent from the man's body caused Laura to be unable to think clearly. Perhaps carried away, Gino's lips slowly landed on his lips. Laura did not reject the kiss and let Gino continue to kiss her, this time the soft kiss turned aggressive with a light touch on her head.

“Sorry La,”

Laura nodded then hugged Gino, she did not want to do anything more than kiss. Although Gino is someone he loves. That principle should not be lost just because of his feelings.

“Why are you back in Indonesia?” laura asked trying to find the truth of the invitation design.

“I've told you, you forgot?”

“After that.”

“Create a wedding.” says Gino.

Laura did not ask any more and let Gino continue to hug her, it was fine if the man was going to marry Ajeng. He was already quite happy with Gino at the moment.

“No, you're taking me to the Observatory?” laura asked remembering the invitation.

“Winter snows every day, weather forecasts are getting worse and there will be storms in some states. It may be delayed until the snow stops. Sorry, La can't take you there yet.”

“Oh, maybe next time.” said Laura disappointed.

"But this is my promise to you, if not in New York, I'll still let you see the stars. Take it easy La, I'm not one to break a promise."

Laura nodded. "If so, are you not back in New York?" ask Laura.

"I'm not sure about that, but I've been planning. May God allow."

Gino's tone implies a long-held dream of a future and Laura is unwilling to choose Gino. She hugged Gino even tighter so that the man understood her feelings.

"La, I want to make a parable."

"What No?" ask Laura.

"If one day we're not a match, are you still in touch with me?"

Laura shakes. "No, don't make a parable that I don't know the answer to."

"La, I love you, but tonight I'm gonna throw that feeling away. Don't ask me why, I understand the situation. I hope after this, you're living happily because I'm happy to see you happy."

"As far as you are No" said Laura desperately, had heard enough of the explanation and about her feelings she should probably have forgotten.

***

Gino's hands ached because all night Laura slept in his arms. He rubbed the face of Laura who was sleeping beside him, in a sleeping state the girl looked much calmer. Different from Laura that Gino had seen all along. He kissed Laura on the forehead at a glance and then hugged the girl back to feel their togetherness that Gino might not be able to get.

The sound of a cell phone causes Laura to wake up and Gino is forced to get out of bed to retrieve the object. No need to ask who contacted him, Gino already understood when Laura mentioned Mario's name in a soft voice. Not wanting to spoil the atmosphere, Gino opted out of the room towards the kitchen. Prepare a simple breakfast in the form of fresh bread and blueberry jam. He didn't cook the omelette like the last time he came to that apartment. Very poor cooking ability, Gino worry result in indigestion.

It didn't take long, the breakfast was already put on the table, while Gino waited until Laura came out of the room. However, the girl not seeing him causes Gino to worry. Without knocking on the door, she opened the room and was surprised to see Laura was wearing only underwear and barely disengaged from the girl's body.

"Get out No!" shouted Laura loudly.

Gino closed the door violently, his mind fixed on the scene earlier. He looked at his body and he was just wearing a towel. Gino did not dress and slept in the same room as Laura.

Damnit.

Feeling that his brain could not think clearly, Gino immediately took his clothes and headed for the bathroom. He needs to calm down. A cold shower in winter nearly kills him and Gino is forced to do so for the shadow to fade.

Half an hour later Gino approached Laura in the kitchen. He sneezed repeatedly because the cold water made him get the flu. His head felt throbbing causing his steps to be unstable and almost fall if Laura did not hold it.

"Be careful no." said Laura reminded.

"I'm dizzy La."

Laura touched Gino's forehead. "You have a fever, I don't have any heat-lowering medication. You better go to doctor No."

"I don't want to go to the doctor." refused Gino quickly.

"I'm out looking for a cure, you take a break No."

Seeing the look on Laura's worried face, Gino thanked the virus that attacked him. If her body was healthy, Laura couldn't possibly behave like that. It turns out that the disease he hated it brought his own luck.

"La, I don't want medicine." Gino touched the girl's shoulder. "I want you" said Gino seriously.

"Don't joke No, I'm out for a second."

"La, do you love Mario?" gino asked to confirm, the dizziness in his head caused the memories of that night to flash through his mind.

Laura did not answer that question. The secret about Mario is sealed and must not let outsiders know even though Gino wants to hear Laura's answer.

"This matter has nothing to do with you No."

The remark caused Gino to be riveted, not supposed to ask that. He removed his hand from Laura's shoulder and stepped out of the place. Maybe the decision to let go of her feelings for Laura was the right choice.

Who likes someone who likes someone else?

Laura used to love it, but it was before she met Mario.

Now, there is no place for Argino Mahendra to settle in Laura's heart. He just stopped by before the girl finally found the most comfortable place to settle down.

However, Gino still remained unwilling to let Laura go.
