“Aren, where are you going? Spend your dinner first!” lulla exclaimed, but Aren did not heed her mother's words at all.
Angrily Aren went to his room and locked himself in there. He knew that his mother would come to his room, so he chose to lock it.
Although only a half-brother, Aren greatly appreciated Frans. Aren always considered Frans to be his own brother. The man never hated Frans as much as his mother did. Because for her, as long as Frans didn't hurt her or offend her, there was no reason for Aren to hate Frans.
Gts ... Gts ... Gts ....
“Aren, open the door!” lulla said softly as she knocked on Aren's room door. “Are you angry because of what I said to Frans?”
As Aren had guessed, his mother had actually caught up to his room. Fortunately, Aren had locked the room so that Lulla could not enter as usual.
“Why do you always defend that brat, Aren?” ask Lulla lirih. She didn't want Jorgie to hear anything negative about Frans coming out of her lips.
“Already, Ma. I'm gonna take a break. Mama should not bother me tonight,” said Aren firmly.
Hearing her son's words, Lulla vexedly left from the front of Aren's room. With a step that snapped Lulla returned to the dining room to continue his dinner with Jorgie. Lulla is very upset because this is not the first time Aren defended Frans. Every time Lulla says anything negative about Frans, Aren defends Frans.
“How, Ma? Is Aren still angry?” jorgie asked, welcoming Lulla.
Lulla sighed. “Have I been wrong, Pa?” lulla asked with a face full of regret, although honestly he said it was only to look for face in front of Jorgie.
“Ya, maybe.” Jorgie tapped his shoulders. The man chose to be neutral by not being on Lulla's side or Aren and Frans' side. “Let Aren calm down first. Tomorrow he must not be angry anymore,” he said to calm the wife.
Lulla sighed. “Hopefully, yes, Pa.”
On the other hand, Aren laid his body on the bed while staring at the ceiling of his room. The man did not think with his mother. Why could his mother hate Frans so much when Frans never did anything bad to Lulla. If Lulla's reason for Jorgie's wealth, it seems like Lulla doesn't need to hate Frans now because Frans is independent and has his own company. But, after all, why does Lulla still hate Frans?
Aren got up to sit down, then picked up his phone which was located on the nightstand near his bed. The man then contacted Frans to complain about what had happened at the dinner table. Although a half-brother, it does not mean Aren will be silent when Frans is demonized as before.
“Halo, Aren? What's up?”
Frans, who had just arrived home, frowned when he found a call from his half-brother. The man stretched his tie, then walked slowly up the stairs leading to the second floor of his mansion.
“Frans, my mother said that you were disrespectful because yesterday you left the party without saying goodbye,” Aren's fight to Frans. “But, of course I disagree with my mother's words because I know you're not like what my mother said.”
Hearing this, Frans chuckled. “Aren, you don't have to bother defending me in front of your mother. I don't bother with what he says, Aren,” Frans said.
Frans had gotten too used to the attitude of her stepmother who disliked her. So, these kinds of things are nothing new to Frans. Even Lulla once treated him much worse than this. So, hearing Lulla's negative remarks meant nothing to Frans.
“Aren, no need low self-esteem. You also have great potential. You just need longer flight hours and add a lot of new experiences so you can grow in the future,” Frans replied. “Did you call me just to complain?”
Across the phone, Aren laughed crisply. “I'm not at home, Frans. I want to get married,” Aren said plainly.
“Your age is mature enough to get married, Aren. If you really want to get married, just do it,” Frans said.
Although Frans does not have fond memories of marriage, it does not mean he will advise his half-brother not to marry. After all, there are a lot of people out there who are happy with their marriage. Just because Frans doesn't have fond memories doesn't mean the same thing will happen with Aren.
“But I still have my doubts, Frans,” said Aren.
Frans opened the door to his room and sat down on the edge of the bed. “What makes you hesitate, Aren?” tanyakanya.
“You know for yourself how the life of the girl I want to marry. He is far from rich. I'm afraid Mama and Papa don't give their blessing to our relationship,” complained Aren then exhaled tired breath.
“Aren, how did you know that Papa and your mother wouldn't approve of your relationship? Have they met your lover before?” ask Frans. The man rolled his long arm up to the elbow.
“Sentah, Frans. It's just my gut feeling. I heard many of my mother's friends say about seedlings, bebet, weights, whenever I accidentally met while they were gathering. I'm afraid my mother also has the same thoughts as them,” explained Aren, conveying her fear.
“But, Papa would certainly not say that, ‘kan?” ask Frans.
“Papa once said to me if he wished I could get the woman I deserve,” replied Aren.
“Quick or inappropriate is relative. It depends on how we look at things. Why don't you try to introduce your lover to Papa? Who knows Papa would approve you,” Frans said.
“I'm scared, Frans.” Aren paused his words for a moment to take a breath. “I'm afraid Papa will be disappointed with the girl of my choice. But on the other hand, I love him a lot. I don't want to marry another woman.”
Frans took his breath. “Alright, I'll try to persuade Papa. I'll come to the office to see Papa,” Frans said.
“Really, Frans?” ask Aren enthusiastically.
“Of course. And if Papa still does not want to give his blessing to you, then I will represent the father to propose the girl to you,” Frans said.
“Frans, you're not kidding, ‘kan?”
“Of course not.”
“Then when will you go to see Papa?” ask Aren impatiently.
