CHAPTER I The First Step

1.8 Partner part 2.

I was in the middle of a very dark ruin. But there is a light visible from the left. It was Armstrong who was emitting light from his body. Seen behind Armstrong was a woman lying on the ground. The woman was Nadha who seemed to be unconscious.

I approached Nadha but a very strong vibration occurred again. A huge chunk of rock fell down again towards me. I jumped right before the rock fell on me.

I carried Nadha's body while looking up. In the direction that I saw the fall of the chunk had opened a hole to get out of this cave. I jumped over the sides of the hole above me so that it reached the surface.

I was very surprised when there were two dragons that seemed to be fighting. One of those dragons was the dragon I met inside the cave. While the other one seems to have seen but I forgot where.

After noticing the dragon fight earlier I tried to lean Nadha onto a tree. Meanwhile Armstrong gives cure recovery magic to Nadha.

"Is Nadha okay Armstrong?" I asked Armstrong to be very worried about Nadha.

"Not mad, maybe he was shocked to make him faint," replied Armstrong with his flat face.

After confirming Nadha's condition I tried to open the monster pedia book. I want to re-identify the two dragons that were fighting in the meadow there.

The first dragon I met in the cave was a dragon that I expected was a fafnir type dragon. The other is a bahamuth dragon.

Finally Nadha woke up. I approached him to make sure he was.

"Hey how are you feeling now?" I asked Nadha to be very worried while holding her hand.

"Oh, I'm fine. What's going on?" nadha replied while trying to improve her sitting position.

After seeing Nadha realize I explained what had happened. Nadha suddenly grabbed my hand earlier and thanked me for worrying about her. At first glance my face flushed red from seeing the beautiful woman thank me.

"I want to find out what happened to those two dragons. You stay here, Nadha!" I said to Nadha after that I ran closer to the dragon fight.

I kept running until the trees next to the savannah were the closest place to the dragon fight. They are so serious in fighting that they do not pay attention around.

"I told you that I would not serve such a king," said the dragon of the fafnir type.

"If so, I just need to eliminate you Escanor," said the bahamuth-type dragon while trying to bite the dragon in front of him despite the unsuccessful attempt.

"Can you do it Gajel. Uh, I don't mean Pride," said Escanor, appearing to be lacquering Pride with her face.

Suddenly, a huge fireball led to me. The fireball came from the mouth of the fafnir but was reflected by the hand of the bahamuth. I jumped up and watched the trees I was hiding in.

They both seemed to realize my existence. But I ran straight to Pride and wanted to attack him. Before my intention was made the sound of Escanor's yelling stopped me.

Eventually Pride tried to attack me but Escanor protected me.

"Hey boy, if you want to fight against him go up to my shoulders," Escanor said as she continued her attack on Pride.

I jumped up and down to Escanor's shoulders. I helped Escanor use low-level elemental magic. My magic has no effect on Pride.

"Forward son. It doesn't matter if it doesn't have an effect" Escanor said as she continued to fight.

Suddenly Pride flew up and spouted a purple-coloured beam towards me and Escanor. Escanor started flapping her wings and flew backwards while replying with a bluish-colored burst. Escanor's blast was successfully avoided by Pride but hit the sea and split the ocean for a while.

I was on Escanor's back just watching their battle. Their battle was fierce in the air. Pride flew after Escanor on the right and tried to spit out a fireball. But Escanor nimbly dodged and turned her body directly kicking Pride. Pride fell to the ground very hard.

Pride instantly got up while looking at Escanor flying around in circles on it. He suddenly shouted so loudly that my ears felt like they were about to break.

Pride's body shape suddenly turned bigger and scarier. On his head appeared one more horn, but initially only had two dragon horns. His claws look increasingly tapered. And the tail split into two parts.

The surrounding aura became extremely gripping. He looked extremely strong and intimidated the living creatures around him.

"Let him use his dosage power," said Escanor speaking softly as she continued to circle around Pride on top of him.

Shots of purple light rained down on Escanor from below. The rays were so fast that Escanor could not avoid them.

Finally Escanor descended to the surface of the savannah and tried to retaliate with a fire shot from her mouth. The Pride that was in front of our eyes disappeared and pierced Escanor's body with her hand as it appeared suddenly in front of Escanor.

I was shocked and directly attacked Pride blindly. But it didn't work. I even threw an aura at his body.

"Divine ray," came from afar a voice I knew shouting.

The light out from the sky led to Pride's body and exploded extremely violently. Escanorpun managed to release Pride's hand prick and stay away from the area.

"Because you're okay?" said Nadha who suddenly approached me.

He healed the wounds I received during the fight. Armstrong also helped Escanor to recover.

The fog of smoke created from Armstrong's magic was gone. Pride was very angry. He was ready to do something. Suddenly a green magic appeared around Pride's body as if shackling him. Then right behind Pride appeared a black hole that sucked him up until he disappeared.

What really happened in my heart was confused.

"Hey, Tiamat appeared, you were just watching us from afar" Escanor cried as if she knew who she was.

A man I knew came down from the sky. He is Merlin. It turned out that Merlin had been watching over me and Nadha while leaving the palace. He also teleported me and Nadha into Escanor's lair.

At night, a 25-year-old man was seen sitting by a bonfire. Around the campfire also visible shadows of the bodies of others. The man was not alone, he was like talking about something with the people around him.

I took one skewer of meat that was around the campfire. I listened to a man tell a story.

That man is Escanor. Escanor in the form of a human being. He told me the reason why he could fight with Pride.

In this Nusantara country there are many various races of mythical monsters. One of them is the dragon race. Nagapun has different types.

Thousands of years ago the dragons established their respective territories and were led by celestial dragons. Celestial dragon is a dragon that has reached the level of a god or in the book of mythical monster pedia monster commonly called the level of a god. There are 6 dragons: fafnir, bahamuth, salamander, tiamat, hydra, and quetzalcoatl.

Fafnir had the territory of the present-day Carleon kingdom and was king of the white dragon, laser dragon and petit dragon.

Bahamuth had the territory of the current Roman empire and was king of the winged dragon, typhon dragon and wind dragon.

Hydra had the territory of the current imperial kingdom and was king of the sea dragon, waves dragon and droplets dragon.

Quetzalcoatl had the territory of the present-day kingdom of uruk and was king of the coatl, wyvern and dragonewt dragons.

As Escanor promised me, she will fulfill my wish. Escanor turned into a dragon and I approached her while holding her head.

"Partner contract," I said followed by the appearance of a light in my palm and on Escanor's head carved out a shape like a magic circle. But the magic circle could not be seen by anyone else.

After that the people around me were astonished at me.

"Is something wrong?" I asked because they looked confused.

"Mirror," said Nadha cast a magic that should be used to observe the enemy.

I looked at myself in the mirror and it looked different. The difference comes from the color of my hair. My hair that was black turned white.

"Let's just remember it looks like it fits you" Nadha said, turning her face and closing her mouth, unable to hold her laugh.

"really?" I said with a plain face and let out my tears.

"Yes right," replied Nadha as she stroked my head.

I was treated like a child by Nadha. But I feel comfortable with the treatment.

"There's actually a human who changed his hair color to white after making a contract with a mythical monster," Merlin said explaining the phenomenon that happened to me.

"meaning?" many confusions. Nadha was also confused.

"There used to be a human clan called the snowman clan where they were in very close contact with mythical monsters. "I'm sorry to trouble you, son" the king of Harlequin told me.

"Sorry king, I didn't mean to make you angry" I said, bowing.

"No, no, lift your body, son. It's all Nadha's fault for forcing you to take her," said the king.

"That's not the king, actually." I tried to explain to the king but was cut off by Nadha.

"It's been the father's usual thing no" said Nadha after cutting me off to speak.

King Harlequin was seen shedding tears as if unable to see his daughter's behavior. Me and Merlin were dumbfounded when Nadha said this to the king of Harlequin.

After two days when we returned to the kingdom, we trained in the royal training arena. I was guided directly by Merlin to get used to Escanor. Nadha was guided by her father.

Finally less than a month away Nadha and I had to go back to the Academy District. But we have to finish our training with a battle trial.

Nadha and Armstrong against Harlequin and Yuan. Yuan was the seraph who served the previous king Harlequin.

Nadha continued to try to attack the king but casually the king dodged and retaliated. While Armstrong and Yuan they are quite balanced.
