CHAPTER 22. Wei Wu Xian's

***Palace Hall of Emperor Wei***

Chen Chen who was assigned to watch over Ying Ying and Tan Xiang secretly from a distance, immediately approached Bai Lu and whispered in Bai Lu's ear to report on Eunuch Da Duo escorting Ying Ying to a seat in the right palace hall.

Originally Chen Chen was given the task of tricking Tan Xiang into staying away from Ying Ying, but when inside the horse carriage, Chen Chen felt Tan Xiang keeping a distance with him and behaving indifferently.

All of Tan Xiang's attention was directed towards Ying Ying. Bai Lu and Chang Ru were also aware of it so the plan to humiliate Ying Ying was quickly changed.

Ying Ying was left with Tan Xiang. The two of them had never been to the palace so it was certain that it would be difficult to find Bai Lu or Chang Ru.

Bai Lu and Chang Ru thought Ying Ying must be running around inside the palace hall to look for them, but their estimates missed. 

"Damn it! Chang Le idiot was very lucky, saved by Prince Wei Bu Yi," Inner Bai Lu.

Bai Lu's decades of acting skills allowed Bai Lu to easily hold a sense of resentment in his heart.

The thin smile still decorated the corners of Bai Lu's lips as before. Wibawa as the wife of General Li Jin was well defended. Moreover, Bai Lu was sitting with the other General's wife.

"Chen Chen's! You can go back to Chang Ru's side" Bai Lu said.

"Okay, young lady!" chen Chen replied obediently.

Just like Chang Le, the seating prepared for Chang Ru was also in the right-hand hall.

"Please sit down, Miss Li Chang Le!" eunuch Da Duo said as he pointed to the empty seat beside Prince Wei Bu Yi.

"Prince Wei Bu Yi!"  greet Ying Ying while waving her hands a few times before sitting beside Wei Bu Yi.

Wei Bu Yi replied with an expressionless nod of his head and face. 

Ying Ying Ying's eyes twinkled staring at the assortment of small snacks on the table. All those small snacks had never been tasted by Ying Ying at General Li Jin's Residence so Ying Ying was curious whether it felt good all the pretty little snacks before her.

At the palace dinner banquet, Ying Ying was free to eat anything and Tan Xiang did not need to check Ying Ying's food with silver needles. 

Ying Ying spread his gaze around. The right palace hall was reserved for the Consorts of Emperor Wei, the prince and daughter of Emperor Wei. While the left hall is reserved for palace officials.

Not far from Ying Ying's seat, was seen the Emperor's throne made of gold. There are five levels of stairs to the throne and all are covered with golden brown carpet. 

"There are two seats next to the Emperor's throne. It must have been the seat of Queen Wen and Consort Ming Lan, Emperor Wei's favorite concubine," Inner Ying Ying.

Ying Ying had already found out about anyone who was powerful and famous in the Wei Kingdom from Tan Xiang's mouth. 

Seating at the palace dinner is arranged one table with two seats.

Husband and wife will sit side by side. Ying Ying was sitting side by side with Wei Bu Yi because the two of them were already engaged.

Ying Ying's beauty made most of the young princes as well as the official's sons sitting in the hall to the left of her gaze towards Ying Ying continuously so that the girls present there felt envy and resentment Ying Ying, who was the center of attention.

Ying Ying ignored the unfriendly gazes of the surrounding girls, but the gazes from the man sitting across made Ying Ying Ying annoyed.

Ying Ying did not expect Wei Wu Xian to give the same gaze as the other young man. Even Wei Wu Xian smiled towards Ying Ying blatantly.

Of course Wei Wu Xian observed first what Wei Bu Yi's reaction to Ying Ying was. Wei Bu Yi's cold and expressionless face made Wei Wu Xian sure Wei Bu Yi did not care about Li Chang Le.

Li Chang Le's status as the future consort of Wei Bu Yi was due to the Emperor's Decree which Wei Bu Yi could not dispute. Wei Wu Xian believed that Li Chang Le would suffer the same fate as the 6th empress Wei Bu Yi.

"Li Chang Le's beauty was undoubtedly, but it was a pity that she was not as normal as the other girls," Wei Wu Xian's inner self.

Wei Wu Xian gulped down the wine in his cup so that Chang Ru who was sitting beside him poured new wine into Wei Wu Xian's cup quickly.

"Crown prince don't drink too much. Emperor Wei and Queen Wen have not arrived yet" Chang Ru said softly.

Wei Wu Xian did not listen to Chang Ru's words at all. His attention was only focused on staring at Ying Ying's face so that it made Chang Ru growl.

"Finally flirty! Seductress! Watch out for you, Chang Le!" inner Chang Ru while squeezing her strong broom.

"It's a pity that the beautiful woman in front of me will die young. If only mother had not proposed Li Chang Le to be Wei Bu Yi's consort, I could have accepted her to be a concubine, "inner Wei Wu Xian.

"Basic disgusting!" ying Ying lamented inwardly.

Wei Wu Xian's gaze was like that of a poisonous snake lurking in prey that made Ying Ying upset.

Although Wei Bu Yi was sitting quietly on the seat, the movements of everyone around him were known to Wei Bu Yi.

The look in admiration towards Li Chang Le from another man was understandable to Wei Bu Yi, but Wei Wu Xian's gaze had such unkind intentions and was so disrespectful that Wei Bu Yi pointed his index finger from under the table at Wei Wu Xian.

Wei Bu Yi's goal was to use his profound energy to break the directional cup in Wei Wu Xian's hand.

Simultaneously, Ying Ying stood up from the chair all of a sudden and took out one small cake from the table.

"Chang Ru's! This cake is for you!" ying Ying shouted as she threw a small cake.

The cup in Wei Wu Xian's hand broke and the small cake Ying Ying threw landed perfectly on Wei Wu Xian's face.

"Crown silk!" shouted Chang Ru.

Chang Ru's shout made the invited guest look towards Wei Wu Xian.

Chang Ru cleaned the cookie crumbs from Wei Wu Xian's face with a handkerchief.

"Sister Chang Le! Why throw a cake in the crown prince's face?" asked Chang Ru with a kettle.

"I want to give you a cake," Ying Ying replied with a innocent face without sin.

"Sorry crown prince," Ying Ying continued while bowing his head.

"It's okay!" wei Wu Xian.

Ying Ying's throw was indeed painful, but Wei Wu Xian did not blame Ying Ying because Ying Ying was indeed abnormal like the other girls.

Wei Wu Xian's mind focused on the broken wine cup in his hand.

"Is it a coincidence or…?" Wei Wu Xian glanced at Wei Bu Yi, but Wei Bu Yi's expressionless face did not give Wei Wu Xian the answer he wanted.

"Sister Chang Le should be punished for injuring the crown prince" Chang Ru said.

"You want Emperor Wei to solve this problem?" wei Bu Yi asked as he stared intently at Chang Ru.

"Mom, that's not how Prince Wei Bu Yi is," Chang Ru replied stammeringly.

Chang Ru turned her head towards Wei Wu Xian with teary eyes. Chang Ru wished Wei Wu Xian to defend her, but instead obtained a sharp glare from Wei Wu Xian.

"Based on a stupid woman! Exaggerate trivial problems!" inner Wei Wu Xian.

"No need to involve father. It's just a small matter" Wei Wu Xian said with a fake smile to We Bu Yi.

Wei Bu Yi turned his head towards Ying Ying. "Sit down!" wei Bu Yi.

"Yes! Sit down!" ying Ying replied obediently.

Most of the invited guests' faces were disappointed at not getting the spectacle they wanted. 

If Wei Bu Yi and Wei Wu Xian were to get into an argument, they were curious which side Emperor Wei would be on. However, in their little hearts they knew Wei Wu Xian did not dare to offend Wei Bu Yi so blatantly.
