CHAPTER 2. First daughter of General Li Jin

***House of General Li Jin***

The horse carriage stopped in front of the entrance to the Residence of General Li Jin. Feng Xi reached out his hand to help Chang Le get off the horse carriage.

"Thank you Brother Feng Xi," Chang Le said cheerfully.

"Together Chang Le," replied Feng Xi.

Chang Le walked inside the residence followed by Feng Xi and Tian Xiang, while Ying Ying circulated her gaze along the way.

"A very big house," Inner Ying Ying.

Chang Le stopped in the dining room. There were several people sitting in front of a large, round dining table.

"Big master! Young madam!"

"Dad lift! Foster mom!"

Feng Xi and Tan Xiang alternately greeted the pair of middle-aged men and women, who turned their heads towards them.

Chang Le ran over to the middle-aged man.

"Chang Le!" call Li Jin with a gentle smile at the corner of his lips.

His pair of sharp eyes stared at the white fox on Chang Le's lap.

"Dad! Ying Ying!" said Chang Le.

"The fox is still small. Is he dangerous?" li Jin asked as he looked at Feng Xi.

"White fox is very obedient. I'm sure he won't hurt Chang Le," Feng Xi replied.

"Ying Ying! This is Ying Ying!" chang Le protested because Li Jin and Feng Xi did not call as per the name of his gift.

"Yes! Ying Ying!" li Jin said with a small laugh.

"Ying Ying!" said Feng Xi.

Chang Le smiled in satisfaction and kissed Ying Ying's face. The sound of laughter adorned the dining room due to Chang Le's innocent manner.

"Let's eat, Chang Le! There's your favorite sweet-sour fish" Bai Lu said.

Bai Lu was Li Jin's concubine so the servants greeted her as young mistress. Bai Lu gave birth to a pair of male and female twins, named Li Chang Ru and Li Teng.

Chang Le was born to Ling Qi, Li Jin's official wife. However, Ling Qi had already died when Chang Le was a child. Chang Le has an older brother named Li Ming.

The dinner took place quietly and harmoniously. Ying Ying was seated beside Chang Le. Tan Xiang was in charge of feeding Ying Ying with side dishes that had been cut into small pieces.

"Human food is so good!" praise Ying Ying in his heart.

Ying Ying was very happy to enjoy her meal. The pleasure of Ying Ying doubled upon seeing all the members of the Chang Le family being extremely affectionate towards Chang Le, even though the young girl was acting like a child.

That night Ying Ying slept beside Chang Le, after being taken in by Tan Xiang. Although Ying Ying was not sleepy due to her 98 years of meditation training in the cave, but the warm embrace of Chang Le caused Ying Ying to fall asleep in a short time.

In the morning the atmosphere of the Residence of General Li Jin was very lively. The family members were already clean and presentable, including Chang Le.

Currently Chang Le was gathered together with his family in front of the gate of General Li Jin's Residence. Of course Ying Ying participated and was in Chang Le's arms. Tan Xiang stood beside Chang Le.

Ying Ying saw hundreds of warriors with war horses gathered before him.

Generals Li Jin, Feng Xi, and Li Ming wore battle robes. It turned out that today the entourage of General Li Jin advanced into battle against another kingdom.

"Chang Le's! Wait for me to come home!" li Jin's Message.

"Yes, dad! Chang Le wait for me at home!" chang Le replied as he hugged Li Jin.

Li Jin let go of his embrace and looked at Chang Le with a feeling of worry. Somehow, Li Jin had a hunch today would be his last meeting with Chang Le.

Bai Lu walked up to Li Jin followed by Li Chang Ru and Li Teng.

"Don't worry, Li Jin! I will take good care of Chang Le," Bai Lu promised.

"Yes, dad. No one dared to bully General Li Jin's daughter!" said Chang Ru.

"Father must have come home quickly and won the war," Li Teng said.

"I believe you!" li Jing said to Bai Lu.

During this time Li Jing saw clearly Bai Lu's affection for Chang Le and Li Ming, even though they were not Bai Lu's biological children.

"Li Teng! Take good care of your mother and your two brothers!" li Jin's message as he patted Li Teng's shoulder gently.

"Good, dad!" li Teng replied.

While Li Jing was talking to Bai Lu and his pair of twins, Feng Xi walked up to Chang Le.

"Tan Xiang's! Take good care of Miss Chang Le!" feng Xi's Message.

"Well, young master Feng Xi!" answer Tan Xiang.

Feng Xi looked at Chang Le softly. "Chang Le's! I will definitely return safely!" feng Xi's Promise.

"Yes!" answer Chang Le.

"Feng Xi's! We're leaving now!" li Jin said.

"Okay, foster father!" replied Feng Xi.

Li Jin, Feng Xi, and Li Ming climbed onto their horses. Hundreds of soldiers lined up neatly behind the three of them.

Not long after, the roar of horses echoed, leaving the Residence of General Li Jin.

"Goodbye father, Brother Li Ming, Brother Feng Xi!" chang Le said as he waved his hand.

Without feeling the time passes quickly. Ying Ying had already been by Chang Le's side for almost two years.

While Li Jin's entourage who went to the battlefield will go home in the near future.

"Miss Chang Le will become the crown princess after the great master returns later. Tan Xiang is very happy," Tan Xiang said enthusiastically.

"Crown princess! Crown princess!" chang Le said while clapping his hands.

General Li Jin was one of the great generals in the Wei Kingdom and had many troops.

Emperor Wei admired General Li Jin's greatness and loyalty to the Kingdom of Wei, so he decreed that the first daughter of General Li Jin would become the crown prince's consort.

Li Chang Le and Wei Wu Xian's marriage was to take place when Li Jin returned home from the battlefield, but it was unexpected that the war lasted two years.

There was a knock on the door from outside so Tan Xiang opened the door.

"Good day young lady!" greet Tan Xiang to Bai Lu.

Bai Lu came with Chang Ru. The two of them directly approached Chang Le, followed by a middle-aged man. Tan Xiang and Ying Ying knew the middle-aged man for coming to visit Chang Le once a month.

"Chang Le's! Physician Huo came to check on your health," Bai Lu said in a soft voice.

"Miss Chang Le!" greet Physician Huo while saluting.

"Tabib Huo! Physician Huo!" said Chang Le.

A while later, Physician Huo had already finished examining Chang Le. Bai Lu approached Physician Huo enthusiastically.

"How is Chang Le, Physician Huo?" ask Bai Lu.

"Hamba hasn't managed to cure Miss Chang Le!" replied Physician Huo with a lethargic face.

"It's okay Physician Huo. I'm sure the crown prince won't mind Chang Le's circumstances" Bai Lu said.

Physician Huo bailed home after doing his duty. Assignment given by Wei Wu Xian, crown prince of the Kingdom of Wei.

Of course Physician Huo's main task was to heal Chang Le until the young girl became as normal as she was and not as a five-year-old child.

Physician Huo routinely came to check on Chang Le every month and gave Chang Le many concoction medicines to drink, but they were all in vain.

"Just calm down Physician Huo. Tomorrow night Miss Chang Le will recover after having my marbles," Inner Ying Ying.

"Sister Chang Le. Tomorrow's mooncake festival. We gather in the garden decorated with lanterns while eating mooncakes" Chang Ru asked.

***Home General Li Jin's Residence***

Various colorful lanterns decorate the garden. Chang Le and Chang Ru sat opposite each other. They both enjoyed the mooncakes on the table.

As usual, Ying Ying was sitting on Chang Le's lap. Ying Ying also enjoyed the small piece of moon cake while staring at the full moon in the sky.

"I can turn into a human when Miss Chang Le goes to the room," Inner Ying Ying.

Tonight was the last night Ying Ying stayed with Chang Le so Ying Ying wanted to spend every second with her kind and loving young Miss all along.

"Miss Chang Le. Tan Xiang wants to go to the toilet for a minute!" tan Xiang said.

Ying Ying saw Tan Xiang's face was extremely pale and both of her hands were holding the abdomen.

"Yes" Chang Le replied.

Tan Xiang ran to the toilet. After Tan Xiang left, Chang Ru stood up from the chair and walked over to Chang Le.

"Sister Chang Le. Can I hold Ying Ying?" Ask Chang Ru.

"Can!" answer Chang Le.

Chang Ru smiled widely and picked Ying Ying up from Chang Le's lap, then walked towards the edge of the pond. Chang Le followed Chang Ru.

"Sister Chang Le. The water in this pond must be very deep" Chang Ru said.

Chang Le gazed towards the pond and indeed did not look at the bottom of the pond.

"There's nothing. Just water," Chang Le replied innocently.

Chang Ru smiled faintly and stabbed Ying Ying's body with a poisonous needle, which she had prepared from the start.

"It hurts!" ying Ying Shouts.

"Ying Ying! Ying Ying!" Chang Le who could hear Ying Ying's voice became panicked and wanted to snatch Ying Ying from Chang Ru's hands.

Chang Ru's hand moved faster. Chang Ru threw Ying Ying into the pool of water.

"Sister Chang Le! Ying Ying fell into the pool!" shouted Chang Ru.

Chang Le jumped into the pond to save Ying Ying, while Chang Ru stared towards the pond with a sinister smile.

"Chang Le idiot! You must be dead!" inner Chang Ru.
