Early in the morning Alves had already 'dragged' Joy to go visit the Venice Bakery. The reason is that if they do not leave early, the cheesecake strawberries that both look forward to will be out of stock first before they even get into the buyer's queue.
Because this type of cake is very popular among the public and has been recognized by the masses for a soft and delicious authentic taste, and is incomparable with other store-made cheesecakes. So inexhaustibly a number of tourists always arrive and enliven the cake shop every day.
Joy put on a sour face the whole way. He still wants to sleep in his sweet sleep, but must be forcibly awakened by his new highly authoritarian Gege, and may look a little obsessive.
When Joy's mind reached that stage, she quickly swept away from her brain. Because how could Alves-ge be really obsessive with a plate of strawberry cheesecake, right?
Joy immediately shook her head filled with indistinct thoughts, while Alves simply glanced at the child from the edge of his eyes in confusion.
She why? Is it because sleep deprivation lowers IQ?
Alves paid attention to Joy for a few seconds, before her attentions were hurriedly sidetracked at the Venice Bakery building visible from a distance. Unknowingly his footsteps accelerated. But Alves regained his senses in the next second to cover up his excitement and slowed down his speed again.
When the two laymen finally entered the Venice Bakery, they gasped almost with their mouths agape.
Elegant minimalist shop design with neat and unique furniture arrangement. Decorations decorate every corner of the store without feeling crowded and storefronts filled with various kinds of cakes that are tempting and entice every visitor to buy it.
Alves and Joy are in line. Luckily the current queue was still short in size, and they were soon welcomed by the cashier clerk.
"Good morning, dear guest. What kind of cake to buy? Do you need a recommendation from me?"
Alves immediately shook his head. "I want to buy strawberry cheesecake. Is there a minimum purchase?"
"Yes. Unfortunately our store restricts one person to only be able to buy one type of cake due to its popularity level. Doesn't it matter? Maybe you can buy other types of cakes, such as red velvet cake," said the official.
"no need. Two strawberry cheesecakes directly eat here. Thank you." Thank you." Without lingering Alves put money on the cashier. The staff prepared the order, gave it to Alves, and the man took it to a table in the corner with Joy trailing behind him excitedly.
As the two sat on their respective chairs, two pieces of cake were devoured. Alves, who always kept his manners while eating, ate it slowly as if treating the cake as the only precious treasure he would never find again.
While in front of him, Joy did not take a headache by enjoying every bite that exploded in his mouth until not five minutes passed, the little boy had stroked his tiny stomach as if protruding.
"Ge, can't we buy this cake again?"
Alves lifted his head from his plate and looked at Joy. He understood what the boy was trying to convey from his deceptive question.
"Pick and buy cookies all you want." After saying so, Alves put some banknotes on the table. Joy jumped up from her chair and grabbed the money. "Wait for me, Ge!" And the boy had already run to the front of the glass display case.
Alves then turned his eyes to the cake on his plate which only had two mouthfuls left. He looked at her while pensive. A few seconds later, the man took a deep breath. He soon finished the piece, and soon joined Joy to buy another type of cake.
The two now board a bus that takes them to their next destination, Elysium Park.
During the day, the park is full of visitors. Because many plant varieties from the most common to some rare plants are cultivated in the special flora protection garden.
Along with washing the eyes with an amazing view mixed with beautiful colors, Joy really saw one by one the available plants and read all the descriptions she found. If there is a history related to certain plants that make him curious, Joy asked questions to Alves.
"Ge, why is this flower called Moon Shadow?"
"Because of Vincent, the person who first discovered this flower saw the shadows dancing from a distance. It was dark and the light reflected from the moon was the sole source of Vincent's vision. And as he approached the shadow, it turned out to be a bunch of flowers that seemed to shine beautifully under the moon."
"Hmm, what if this one?" Joy pointed to the flower variety next door. The flowers look simple. A medium-sized flower with petals attached to each other. Perhaps the thing to note is the amazing color combination, which is a blend of green and blue accompanied by white highlights in the middle.
Reminds him of an indescribable sense of familiarity and nostalgia.
Alves withdrew his gaze before being hypnotized further by the flower. He spoke to Joy again.
"The name is Cyan Memoriam. This flower became the symbol of the Martin Family in the Indiana Empire. Although the appearance and shape are less peculiar, but the first leader of the Martin Family is captivated by the elegant and refreshing aura that is contrary but melded in a harmonious state," explained Alves stepped foot in the next area.
Joy stalks him from behind, unaware of the change that has happened to Alves. "If not mistaken, Chairman Eliot once mentioned that the flower is a favorite flower, Gege?"
"No. Eliot once caught me buying the flower once for work and thought it was my favorite flower for no reason" Alves responded. The implication was that Joy wouldn't have to ask further. Joy receives her signal and goes back to silencing her mouth even though she is a little confused.
They then went through their next activity normally. Although it is undeniable that the atmosphere that enveloped the two experienced a little change so that Joy did not talk much afterwards.
Alves and Joy had lunch at a small restaurant, passing through several shops, down the Eden River, and enjoyed the enchanting scenery in the breeze.
That afternoon, the vicinity of the Eden River was quite quiet.
Under the setting sun against a deep orange horizon, Joy looked at the silent-looking figure of Alves from behind. The reflection of the faint rays of light highlighted half of the man's face. With the river flowing quietly beside a few beautiful trees perched along it, Joy thought she was appreciating the display of paintings worth millions.
"Ge, let's go home?"
"Hm."
After almost a full day the two spent energy outside, the night they had arrived at the apartment room. Where Alves found a package lying on his doorstep.
