"Tsk." The sound of a loud tongue whisper almost startled Joy who had just got the chance to lie on her new bed after cleaning up her belongings. Joy sat up straight at the end of the mattress with a frown on her face.
What makes Gege angry? ask Joy in her mind.
After the plane landed at the airport of the Federation capital Stellar, Alves took Joy to a shopping center to buy her basic necessities and other special tools. In the middle of the streets, they found all the shops filled with the feel of Christmas and new year. The festive atmosphere at the end of the year left many shops flooded with visitors who exchanged excitement. A sense of joy is also contagious in the entire shopping center.
Joy even had asked for a doll to Alves who was followed by the young man. This indicates that Alves and Joy both enjoy the harmonious atmosphere.
As Alves and Joy arrive at Alves' luxurious apartment, a faint smile is etched on their faces. But after Joy entered her new room and arranged the things she had just bought, she suddenly heard and felt Alves' irritation from afar.
Joy then slowly widened the door of the room she could not close, popping her head behind the door, and her focus was on finding Alves' figure in the front room.
In the front room, Alves was now staring at his phone screen with an expression of disbelief. Again he breathed in his frustration.
Just a moment ago, he sent a message to Eliot to give her a two-week vacation. While playing a red pendant sheathed around his neck, Alves waited for his reply. But the message on his phone five minutes later contained news that dropped his good mood.
"In accordance with the initial year plan, I can only give vacation time for a week. After that, you should go to the Indiana Empire for your next training." Alves read every word that was written. He leaned his back against the sofa while staring at the ceiling of the apartment in the void.
Just a week...
Alves had overshadowed and made plans for the end of the year holiday and welcomed the beginning of the new year neatly.
In his mind, he would visit a newly viral bakery of his soft, fresh strawberry cheesecake in two blocks next to his apartment building. Then he took a leisurely walk down the sparkling and clear Eden River, and spent time in the park near the river reading his favorite novel. And lastly, he just wants to hang out on his bed watching television or playing games for the rest of his vacation.
But all his imagination is now just cracked.
Reality always destroys expectations.
Alves took a breath back. He opened his eyes and from the end of his eyes, he found Joy sneaking a peek at him from a distance.
"What's wrong?" her question immediately glanced towards Joy.
Joy who was caught peeking then fix her posture to be strapping. "Uhm, that's ... when are we going to do the plan?" he walked up to Alves and sat on the sofa next to the man.
"Not in the near future."
The question mark symbol seems to appear above Joy's head which greatly illustrates her feelings now. He wondered inwardly, didn't Chief Eliot tell me to quickly go to meet Alves-gegege? From his slightly hasty intonation, it means that his plan must be implemented immediately, right?
Staring at Joy's bewildered expression, Alves instantly knew what heresy order Eliot had given Joy. "This week is a holiday. You can go anywhere and next week we're just going to the Indiana Empire" Alves replied.
Joy's lips spontaneously formed the letter "O". The gears in his brain worked quickly. Joy seemed to have thought of several things in that short period of time, but was timid to say her wish.
"Is there a place you want to go?" Alves took the initiative to ask.
Alves could already imagine what he would do over the next week. Going to the playground, babysitting this 13-year-old, serving him to go shopping to a number of stores, and most importantly the number of digit numbers on his bank savings book seems to be dropping dramatically. His forehead twitched when he thought of that.
Alves finally decided to resign. Counting on it, Joy was her co-worker for some time to come and she was just a child. As an adult, of course Alves can not abandon the 13-year-old child is not it?
"Where?"
Joy immediately replied with a hint of excitement heard in her voice, "I'm going to Elysium Park. I heard the garden is beautiful and there are many varieties of flowers on display there. Continuing to seem to go to the Eden River which is located just a few kilometers from the Garden of Elysium is also not bad. Lastly, I want to try the famous cake at the Venice Bakery. Doesn't it matter?"
Alves rounded his eyes.
Good, his new co-worker seems to have the same taste as him.
In terms of a submissive and adorable personality, thoughts that conform to his views, as well as the choice of entertainment targets are almost exactly the same as him. Alves nodded his head and felt very satisfied in his heart.
"OKAY. Tomorrow we can go directly explore the places you want to visit. We can start going to Venice Bakery early in the morning to avoid traffic jams, in the afternoon we will take a walk around Elysium Park, then we'll return to the apartment by the route that passes through the Eden River in the afternoon." The longer Alves thought of his plans for the next day, the more he couldn't wait for the day to turn.
And so does Joy. His face was beaming with his eyes that seemed to sparkle, containing a desire he could not suppress. "okay!"
"Hm. Well then, today use your rest time well. Are you experiencing jet lag?"
Joy shakes. "No, I can set my own time off. Gege doesn't have to worry" he replied.
Who's worried? Alves grimaced in his mind.
"Yes already. You can go back to your room, "turn Alves out. He then cleared slowly. "Don't forget to drink a lot of water" he added in a low voice.
Joy blinked her eyes. "Yes, Gege also do not stay up late. Chairman Eliot told me to make sure Gege gets enough rest. And .. let Gege's old disease not appear again." After saying so, Joy immediately ran into her room as if knowing that she would get scolding and scorn from Alves.
Alves did not dispute Joy's remarks. And even if he had time to deny it, the words of the boy could not be called wrong. Alves often slept through the middle of the night, as if he did not want to close his eyes for a long time.
Even so, Alves understood Eliot and Joy's anxiety. His dislike of darkness must be quelled. He still needs enough rest like a normal human needs to sleep for a certain period of time.
By nightfall, Alves decided to go to bed faster than usual. To welcome a tomorrow that would drain a lot of energy, Alves reluctantly laid his body on the mattress while staring blankly. He removed the sunglasses from his face and placed them on the nightstand.
Instantly his eyesight was extinguished. Not even a ray of light was visible from Alves' perspective. Even the fading shadows did not appear. It was as if the sunglasses were the only source of light and when the thing detached from his body would make Alves walk without direction.
But Alves knew. His surroundings were still bright because the room lights he did not turn off.
Only he lost the light.
