Chapter 49 - Becoming a Fugitive

It felt as fast as the day passed by, now the night sky greeted Fang Wencheng and Long Kou when they arrived at the school of Toxic Fog.

All the disciples of the Poisonous Fog Sect greeted them in front of the entrance gate. Enthusiastically they accompanied Fan Wencheng and Long Kou to walk into the Poisonous Mist Sect.

"Elder where is Lu Lua?" a girl asked politely as she did not see Lu Lua's presence.

All the disciples regained their senses and began to wonder about Lu Lua's whereabouts. Some disciples even thought that Lu Lua had managed to win the Tournament and settled in the Qing imperial palace.

Long Kou and Fan Wencheng did not answer any of the questions given. They just continued walking towards the room where the elders and Patriarchs of the sect were waiting for them.

Both of them entered the room. All sorts of expressions were clearly on everyone's faces. The room contained the Patriarch and five elders of the Poisonous Mist sect.

"It looks like you guys are back to bring defeat." teased one of the elders.

"You don't need to worry, it's a normal matter in a fight" said one of the other elders as he patted Fan Wencheng on the shoulder.

"Where's my daughter?" The patriarch spoke up, he was Yoo Suk, Lu Lua's father.

Hearing that question Fan Wencheng could only gulp his saliva roughly, while Long Kuo tried to calm down and tell him what had happened. 

"What?! My daughter's gone?!"

"Are you crazy? How could you let someone dare to eliminate my daughter?!"

"She's not only your daughter but she's also my student, I had tried to kill the girl who had eliminated her but the girl managed to trick me and give me a powder that kept me from laughing for a long time" Long Kou explained.

Yoo Suk's face flushed red with anger. Lu Lua was his only daughter and was very dear to him, hearing the news of his death made him very angry and devastated.

"You're a bad teacher because you can't take care of your students!"

"You know I only have it!"

"If you weren't my father's best friend, you might have been eliminated!"

Yoo Suk yelled venting all his anger at Long Kou who was just silent, he understood what Yoo Suk felt so he let it go.

Long Kou is an Elder of the Toxic Fog Sect and a friend of the previous Patriarch, Yoo Suk's father, who is gone.

Lu Lua was actually a student of his own grandfather but after the events of a few years ago his grandfather had to die and leave Lu Lua to study for Long Kou.

"We must avenge my daughter's death" Yoo Suk said as his anger began to subside.

Long Kou nodded, he then told Zhang Me's name and some related to Zhang Me. Long Kou also added that the empire would soon send Lu Lua's body to the sect.

Yoo Suk could only exhale roughly hearing Long Kou's words. The always cheerful shadow of Lu Lua began to play in Yoo Suk's mind.

"I'll meet and kill the girl myself" Yoo Suk said.

"I won't let him get away! I'm gonna kill him!"

On the other hand a horse carriage and several bodyguards stopped in front of a spacious, large and quite luxurious building.

Those people were the horde of Cao Xueqin along with his three disciples who were escorted by some imperial bodyguards arriving at the Silver Rose sect.

The Silver Rose Sect itself was located in a village that was on the outskirts of the forest. As the name implies, when we step on the Silver Rose sect it will smell a very fragrant rose.

Then Cao Xueqin asked the disciples who were taking part in the Tournament to rest, he also told the elders and other higher-ups to gather in his room.

And now all the elders and high-ranking members of the Silver Rose sect gathered in Cao Xueqin's room.

Cao Xueqin who was the Patriarch of the Silver Rose sect put on his serious face and started to open his voice.

"It seems you already know that the one who won the Tournament this year is a disciple of the Snow Mountain Sect" Cao Xueqin said.

Everyone there was shocked, they certainly knew that information a day ago when the Tournament was over but from the beginning they were in disbelief so they waited for Cao Xueqin to return to find out who the real winner was. However, it is not expected that all of it is not just a rumor but reality.

"It seems like there was cheating in this year's Tournament, it was obvious that the Snow Mountain sect was nothing compared to the Silver Rose sect." protested one of the elders.

"No cheating happened, just a stroke of luck to the Snow Mountain sect" Cao Xueqin said.

"You'll find out after you find out what happened" he added.

Cao Xueqin began to recount all the events that happened during the Tournament including the death that befell Wang Shu.

Upon hearing Cao Xueqin's story the elders and higher-ups deeply regretted the death of Wang Shu who was the number one genius in the Silver Rose sect to be killed.

Of course their reaction was ordinary as Wang Shu was just an orphan girl picked up by one of the elders and left to study in the Silver Rose Sect. 

"The girl is named Zhang Me, she is the girl who killed Wang Shu" Cao Xueqin said.

Everyone nodded and focused on listening to Cao Xueqin's story that was impressed with Zhang Me's praise.

"However we should be able to get the girl to join our sect." said Cao Xueqin.

"It was quite easy, after all no one would be able to refuse to join the Silver Rose sect, the number one largest and strongest sect that existed in the Qing empire." said one of the sect elders with great pride.

"Unfortunately he refused." Cao Xueqin replied.

"We can get him interested in enough treasures and resources."

With a gloomy expression Cao Xueqin replied, "I have offered it to him but he still refused, not only to the Silver Rose sect but he refused all the sects that offered to join." he explained.

"It looks like the girl has a pretty strong background."

"You're right, that's why I gathered you all here" Cao Xueqin said.

"I want to make this a mission for everyone, whoever can make that girl join the Silver Rose sect then that person will get a lot of treasures and sufficient resources."

Everyone whispered to each other, Cao Xueqin's offer certainly attracted them including the resources. Even though they could always get resources from the Sect but still it was not enough, after all, humans were never satisfied.

"It seems you are very interested in the girl." one of the elders replied as he looked at Cao Xueqin who looked very enthusiastic.

"I wonder how the girl looks."

"That girl is a bright future for the Silver Rose Sect, I can confirm that."

Everyone who was there could only look at each other listening to Cao Xueqin. Although they had never seen Zhang Me but Cao Xueqin's reaction led them to believe that the girl named Zhang Me was no ordinary girl.
