The Lord Of The Mysteries

The Lord Of The Mysteries
The Chapter 70

Clips, clips.

The horses widened their steps as the wheels started rolling behind them. Despite activating his Spirit Vision and turning around, hoping to observe the delicate and sweet woman, Klein's desire was not fulfilled. All of his reflected eyes were brown figures moving past him.

Meanwhile, passengers from the stop had already boarded the carriage. The carriage door was tightly shut as it slowly left.

Inside the carriage, twenty to thirty people stood close to each other, their energy fields overlapping and protecting each other. Therefore, it was a burst of color in Klein's vision, making it difficult to discern.

He shook his head calmly and raised his finger to tap on his glabella to disable his Spirit Vision.

To him, it was only a favor he could give if he happened to get it. However, if he missed it, and the situation was not very clear, there was no point in remembering it and delaying the matter by himself.

While bathing in the red moonlight, Klein walked back to the house on the still bustling Daffodil Street. He came back to see Melissa sitting next to the dining table. He was busy doing his homework under the bright gas lamp.

He bit the pen and frowned, seemingly deep in thought.

"Where's Benson?" Klein asked casually.

"Ah.." Melissa looked up. He gawked for a few seconds before saying, "He said he went around some territory today and broke into a sweat. She's taking a nice relaxing bath."

"Good." Klein laughs. Suddenly, she realized that she was wearing a dress she had never seen before.

It was entirely cream-colored. It had a fashionable engagement. The collar and edges of the tops have thin frills. Moreover, it was a rather simple design, the type worn as everyday casual wear. It fully accentuated the sixteen or seventeen year old youth.

"New clothes?" Klein asked with a smile.

It was a purchase that he and Benson insisted on.

Melissa replied firmly.

"i just took it back from Mrs Rochelle. I thought that since I should wash it later, I'd better try it first."

Klein was a bit confused when he heard that.

"Mrs Rochelle?"

Isn't he our ex-neighbor?

Melissa nodded and explained very seriously, "Mrs Rochelle is actually a tailor, but she is very unlucky. She had no choice but to sew and repair clothes for others in the house. She lived a pretty tough life.I know that she has it. The skills are pretty good and the price she quotes is cheaper than in a women's clothing store. Besides, it was very adapted to my figure, so I ordered a new skirt from her. It costs only nine soli and five pence and only takes a few days. Dresses of the same style will cost three and a half pounds at the Harrods Department Store!"

What a frugal girl, sister, I know at least half the reason is because of your pity for Madame Rochelle. Instead, he said with a smile, "When did you go to Harrods?"

It's on Howes Street, near the Divination Club. It was somewhere where the middle class was shopping.

"…" Melissa was momentarily at a loss for words. It took him a long time before he said, "That's Selena and Elizabeth. They insisted I accompany them. Actually, my yah— actually prefers gears. I like places with steam and engines. Yeah." yeah."

"Enough, yah—good for a girl to occasionally shop at a department store." Klein laughed as he comforted his sister.

After some empty chatter, he quickly walked to the second floor, hoping to remove the disgusting mixed smell from the bar.

Just as she was about to return to her bedroom to pick up a change of clothes, she suddenly heard a voice from the bathroom close to the balcony.

A few seconds later, Benson stepped out while drying out his gradually receding hairline.

"Hows it? Did you compliment Melissa's new dress?" He glanced at Klein and asked with a smile.

"I think I forgot. All I did was ask where it was done.." Klein thought for a moment as he said.

Benson immediately chuckled and shook his head.

"How inappropriate is an older brother. When Melissa received the dress, she couldn't bear to put it down. After rushing to cook and wash the dishes, she immediately put on the dress and has since refused to take it off."

…Isn't he planning to change his clothes after a shower? She could wash and heed clothes while doing so. Klein involuntarily denied with the explanation Melissa gave.

"Ck." Benson sighed. "The last few days have been very hot. He's been busy in the kitchen for a long time, so I'm sure he'll feel much better doing his homework after taking a shower."

That's right .. Klein was suddenly enlightened as he gave his brother an understanding smile.

So what kind of person you are, Melissa. There's no harm in a girl watching her appearance. There was no need to look for excuses. The corner of his mouth curved upwards as he shook his head gently before walking into his room.

As he bathed, Klein faintly heard a knock downstairs. He immediately wondered.

Didn't the worker in charge of collecting coins for the gas meter only come once every two weeks?

Could it be Mrs Shaud from the house next door? That's not possible. It is said that this woman strictly adheres to the etiquette of middle class society. He will not visit at the wrong time.

In his confusion, Klein wiped his body dry. Wearing an old but comfortable shirt and pants, he went down the stairs.

Benson, who was reading the newspaper casually, said with a smile, "That's Bitsch Mountbatten, one of the policemen in charge of Iron Cross Street. He asked if we met an eighteen or nineteen year old boy who had a fat face. . Heh, he even gave us a sketch to identify. Unfortunately, neither of us saw it, nor we will receive a reward. How's yours?"

"No." Klein had a general idea of what was happening.

The instigator Tris had managed to escape the Evil Dragon Bar in the harbor. He had escaped to somewhere close to Iron Cross Street and Daffodil Street; therefore, the police made door-to-door visits.

And so far it makes clear that the operation to capture the instigator has failed miserably!

Klein did not mind the situation. He has not yet started combat training. He only had a basic mastery of shooting, so to consider dealing with a natural 'Killer' was just using his life as a joke.

He didn't sleep well that night. He continued to worry that the instigators would infiltrate their home to hide, causing another massacre.

Fortunately, Daffodil Road was quiet all night, with the morning sunlight scattering all the fog.

Klein casually changed into formal attire, put on his hat, held his cane, and went all the way to Zouteland Road. He greeted Rozanne in the reception hall.

"Good morning, Klein," Rozanne replied happily. He pressed his voice and said, "I heard the big operation last night fail?"

"Operation to arrest Tris the instigator?" Klein asked curiously.

"Yes!" Rozanne nodded heavily. He glanced over to the partition and said, "His partner is an informant from the Mandated Punisher to find the instigator in the harbor … They planned to wait for additional Beyonders and other Special Operations squads from the police to arrive before starting the operation to do the act instantly without alarming the commoners. Unfortunately, the instigator was extremely sharp. He stormed out of the siege when he saw something wrong, as a result managed to escape."

"At such a time, they need a Beyonder with tracking abilities, like me." Klein made a joke.

"There was no shortage of trackers back then." Dunn Smith's voice suddenly sounded.

Rozanne turned her head suddenly and saw the captain wearing his black jacket. He glared at her with his pair of deep gray eyes while leaning against the partition frame.

He hurriedly raised his hand to cover his mouth. Then, he shook his head nonstop, revealing his futile innocence.

Dunn turned her gaze to Klein and after thinking for a moment, she said, "There are a total of six Beyonders from Mandated Punishers, Machinery Hivemind, and our Nighthawks. We tracked the injured Tris to Iron Cross Street's Lower Street. We found him a temporary residence, but the clue ended there. Be it Beyonder's methods or ordinary investigations, nothing works. It was as if he had evaporated into thin air, disappearing completely."

"Do you need my help with the prophecy?" Klein asked carefully.

Dunn shook her head slowly.

"The Hivemind Machinery has Hivemind Machinery. He was a senior Beyonder as good as Old Neil. I even suspect he's already in Order 8. I just don't know what the appropriate herb's name is."

"The Theosophical Order's legacy to this day must have been something special" Klein said.

The rest of the morning, he continued his mysticism curriculum, read historical information and documents, and practiced various techniques as usual.

Towards lunchtime, Klein's mind began to wander.

A few minutes later, he kept the documents, after hearing his stomach call.

At that moment, Dunn Smith came to the clerk's office. He said softly but deeply, "Klein, follow me to the Chanis Gate. Closed Artifact 2-049 has arrived. The next operation may require your sensing of the notebook."

"…Well," Klein got up and replied.

His mind became chaotic. He imagined how the sealed item would look or whether its operation would be dangerous.

While in this somewhat tense silence, he followed Dunn down the stairs and into the tunnel.

After walking straight at the intersection, Dunn suddenly stopped and turned her head, saying sternly, "Do this action with me. Keep doing it and don't stop. Remember, don't stop. It's for your own safety!"

As he spoke, Dunn bent her arm followed by extending it. He repeated this action non-stop.

Klein looked at the displayed captain in confusion. Suddenly enlightened, he asked, "Does this have anything to do with the uniqueness of the Closed Artifact?"

"Yes." Yeah." Dunn nodded with abnormal seriousness. "Repeating such actions will allow us to know if something happens to you immediately. Saving you on time won't result in life-threatening danger."

"okay." Klein did not hesitate any further as he began the repeated act of bending and extending his arm.

"If your arm hurts, use another one" Dunn added.

Sealed Artifacts "2-049" must be strange? These thoughts flashed through Klein's mind as he stared intently at the captain.

"Good."

He had too many questions on his mind, but since the Chanis Gate was already in sight, he had no choice but to endure it.

Besides, with my security clearance, I probably won't know the details. I could only do as I was told. Klein sighed as he followed Captain Dunn to the Guard room outside Chanis Gate.
