A gray mist filled the air in a manner that never changed as illusory red stars hung all around it at varying distances. Klein sat inside the tall palace that looked like a giant mansion as he looked at the familiar scene before him.
After a few seconds, he threw away his face and made a yellowish-brown goat skin appear before him. Then, he lifted up the pen to write the altered spell for the summoning ritual.
"Light a candle to represent myself.
"Use a spiritual wall to create a sacred environment.
“Drop Full Moon Essential Oil into the flame, Chamomile Pure Dew, Slumber Flower Powder, and other ingredients. (Note: There is no need to be too particular in this step because it calls itself).
"Read the mantra below.
"Me! (In ancient Hermes, Jotun, Dragonese, or Elfish. That must be a deep scream)
"i am calling in my name (Hermes),
"The Fool who does not belong to this era, the mysterious ruler above the gray fog; the Yellow and Black King who has luck."
…
After researching it three times, Klein wrote a divination statement at the bottom:
"There will be danger if the above rituals are performed outside this world."
Phew. He sighed, put down the pen, took out a silver chain in his sleeve, and held it with his left hand.
The topaz pendant hung over the goat skin steadily, just a little far above the divination statement. He reined in his thoughts and entered a Cogitation state.
“There will be danger if the above rituals are performed outside this world.
"There will be danger if the above rituals are performed outside this world."
…
After saying the statement seven times, Klein opened his almost entirely black eyes and looked at the topaz stone pendant that was spinning counterclockwise.
That means a negative result: there will be no danger!
"I can try it then." Klein made the items in front of him disappear. He then expanded his spirituality to wrap himself up and simulate the sensation of falling.
When he returned to his room, due to the fact that he had sealed the entire room with a spiritual wall, Klein immediately cleaned his desk and extinguished the mint-scented candle right in the middle.
He pressed a little wick of the candle, rubbed it with spirituality to cause friction and lit the candle.
Under the flickering dim light, Klein dripped essential oils, extracts, and herbal powders that fit into the fire.
A calming aroma suddenly filled the air, and the room alternated between brightness and darkness.
Taking two steps back, Klein looked at the candle representing himself and shouted in Jotun, "I!"
Then, he turned to Hermes, "I call my name:
"The Fool who does not belong to this era, the mysterious ruler above the gray fog; the Yellow and Black King who has luck."
Just as he finished speaking, he felt a wavering candlelight suddenly dance vigorously and produce a vortex with a scent around it. It absorbed his spirituality at a crazy rate.
"Sleeping flower, the potion belonging to the red moon, please give your power to my spell.." Klein endured the discomfort caused due to his spirituality being drained as he finished reciting the spell.
Then, he saw the candlelight stop shaking. It was stained with a grey luster, which extended to the size of a palm.
"I didn't call anything.. Oh right, maybe I should respond to it over the gray fog? It's really quite troublesome to call myself.." murmured Klein, pinching his sore forehead.
He calmed himself down, then took four counter-clockwise steps before arriving above the gray fog again. He saw there was a rippling light on the seat of honor on the ancient table.
It came from a strange symbol on the back of the corresponding chair. Strange symbols consisting of Pupilless Eyes, symbols representing secrecy, and crimped lines representing change.
All Klein did was extend his hand to grab her when he immediately heard, "I! I call upon my name, The Fool who does not belong to this era, the mysterious ruler over the gray fog; the Yellow and Black King who has good luck." Then, he saw a surge of spirituality combined with a rippling light that formed an illusionary yet formless door.
The door shakes as if it wants to be opened. Klein immediately felt inspired and was eager to push him open.
Almost instantly, boundless fog and a tall palace were pulled forward. There were some barely visible ripples.
Ripples surged towards the illusionary yet formless door.
But, no matter how much Klein pushed her, the door could not be opened. Every movement produces a dead silence.
"The summoning door has not yet been formed?" Klein held back his desire and furrowed his brows as he analyzed the reason why he had failed.
He casually named the door "Call Door".
"Hmm, I lack spirituality, so I cannot form a complete Door of Summoning. When I advanced to Sequence 8 Clown and passed the initial dangerous stage, I could try it again. Perhaps it wouldn't be a problem then .." Klein nodded lightly and roughly understood what had happened.
This experiment gave him a confidence boost, though, he felt honored because this was the first time he had received some sort of response from the mysterious space above the gray fog of — in addition to the incident where he predicted about the Eternal Blazing Sun!
There will come a day when I will understand all the secrets here! Klein excitedly declared in his heart. He then descended swiftly into the boundless fog after he wrapped himself in spirituality.
…
Klein quickly blew out the candle after he returned to his room. He ended the ritual and cleared his study table before he removed the spiritual wall.
In the fuzzy dream that followed her, Klein suddenly woke up and realized that he was sitting in the living room of his house and holding the Honest Paper of Tingen City.
… Don't tell me the Captain is here again? He was stunned at first when he looked out the oriel window, finding humor in his annoyance.
With a squeak, the door opened. Dunn entered slowly, wearing her black jacket that exceeded her knees and holding a stick and pipe.
He was still wearing his black hat, and beneath it were his deep gray eyes.
Dunn came to the living room and sat on the single seat sofa. He casually crossed his right leg above his left.
He put away his cane, took off his hat, and leaned back. He sat there quietly and looked at Klein as if he was thinking.
Captain, what are you trying to do today .. Klein was dumbfounded.
In order not to reveal that she knew that it was a dream, she pretended not to be affected by it and continued reading the newspaper.
One minute, two minutes, five minutes. He raised his head to look at Dunn who was sitting opposite him. He discovered that the Captain was still sitting there quietly and looked at him deeply.
Five minutes, ten minutes, fifteen minutes. Klein flipped the newspaper back and forth several times, looked at Dunn from the corner of his eye, and noticed that the man was still looking at him calmly in deep thought.
Captain, you're making me very uncomfortable. Klein can't sit quietly. He folded the newspaper and put it on the side. He nodded and smiled at Dunn. Then, he went to the kitchen to pick up a piece of cloth and started wiping the dining table and coffee table.
Captain, look, my dreams are very simple, very ordinary, very boring. Nothing worth observing. Hurry and go! Why don't you pretend to be a ghost and I'll pretend fear, then you can complete your achievement as a Nightmare! He prayed in silence and raised his head, but all he saw were Dunn's gray eyes still thinking out loud.
Under such a calm and constant gaze, Klein wiped all the furniture and cleaned his room. He was very tired in his dreams.
The one that tired him the most was Dunn Smith, who was watching him calmly while thinking hard.
Klein had no idea how much time had passed while he kept himself busy until he finally saw his Captain take off his legs and stand up. Then, he picked up his cane, put on his hat, and walked through the door.
Klein held his breath and saw Dunn leave his house.
He could not help but raise his right hand to wave.
Phew.. When everything returned to normal, Klein heaved a sigh of relief.
That was a real nightmare! She thought to herself, too busy to cry.
…
Backlund, West Backlund, Philip's department store.
Philip's was one of the top-class department stores in the Loen Kingdom. It was only open to nobles and wealthy people who were qualified to become members.
There was always a luxurious carriage parked outside with various emblems imprinted on it. Not only was it a safe place to shop, it also became a popular social place due to the strict restrictions on members.
Audrey brings her maid Annie and her golden retriever Susie. Under the escort of an attentive officer, he got off the carriage and walked through the entrance.
Along the way, he saw the viscount princess, countesses, or the girl with parents of high social status.
He maintained his elegance and greeted them all gracefully. He communicated with different nobles on different topics. For example, when she faced a certain Countess, she would praise the completeness of the Countess' dress and when she greeted a certain baroness, she would praise the outstanding appearance of the baroness' husband in the House of Lords.
Audrey had not been good at it before; she was too stubborn and too arrogant. But now, he did not even need to put in much effort to respond perfectly.
In the audience's eyes, most of the emotions and thoughts of the female nobles were written on their faces.
Arriving on the second floor, Audrey transforms into a shop selling ready-made dresses.
The clerk at the store was a petite girl. She wore a black and white dress and had shoulder-length blonde hair. He is the Arbitrator, Xio Derecha.
Audrey looked at Susie without changing her expression. The dog immediately understood what the owner meant and ran to another counter.
Maid Annie chases Susie to try to drag her back.
It's done well! Audrey praised inwardly and walked next to Xio Derecha, pretending to look at the various dresses.
"… Why did you arrange to meet me here?" Xio asked in a whisper as he loudly introduced the dress.
Her voice was soft, like a child.
"Where is the original officer?" Audrey asked in response instead of answering.
Xio looked around and said, "I convinced him. He likes to rest in the morning."
Audrey looked at the dresses in different styles while she took out a neatly folded piece of paper from her sheepskin bag and secretly gave it to Xio.
"The Storm Rear Admiral, Qilangos, has slipped into the Backlund. Here's the portrait.I hope you can find it for me. Oh, and don't tell him."
Xio received a piece of paper and unfolded it to catch a glimpse. He saw that it was a portrait of a living human in his thirties that had a unique wide chin.
I was once constantly praised by my art teacher .. Audrey glanced at Xio and raised her head.
He added, "The kingdom offered a reward of ten thousand pounds to Qilangos. If he was captured, even the one who only gave the hint would definitely be given a few hundred pounds."
As he finished his sentence, he saw Xio's eyes sparkling with excitement, just as he had expected.
