The Lord Of The Mysteries

The Lord Of The Mysteries
The Chapter 203

Klein opened the letter, feeling hopeful and nervous before he started reading Azik's answer.

"… I thought of some possibilities regarding the scenario you described, and I remembered some things about Vampires and Mutants.

"Natural vampires were already on the brink of extinction before dragons and giants were eliminated from the world history stage. Later, they may sometimes be found. The Vampires we used to talk about, as well as those mentioned in folklore, are more similar to Beyonders, I remember that the name of the herb in a certain path is called Vampires.

“If your boss is now in a half-crazy state, then he is most likely wrong to consume such a potion. The result of mixing two herbs from different paths made the half-crazy state a certainty. Yes, I vaguely remember the path.from Evernight, which is also the Sleepless path as you know, can be exchanged in the High Order with the Death path and the Giant path, respectively, but that doesn't include the Vampire line.

“Of course, we cannot rule out the possibility that your boss may accept it willingly. After all, Vampires had a long lifespan, an incredible constitution, and an outstanding appearance. When compared to this benefit, accepting a half-crazy state was a natural thing."

Klein froze as he read the letter. He did not expect that Mr. Azik would give him this much information.

The Death Line is also known as the Corpse Collector line. It is interchangeable in High Order with No Sleep track. I know about this from the diary of Emperor Roselle. But to think that it could also be exchanged for the Giant's path after Order 4. The Giant's Path was one that belonged to the Silver City, which was also the current path of the Battle God… I had always suspected that the Giant King of Aurmir was an ancient Battle God…

Yes, the diary of Emperor Roselle describes the Church of the Goddess of the Night and the Church of the Battle God as mortal enemies.. Could this be because the paths they have can be exchanged at higher order?

If I follow this line of thought, I can find an explanation for why the three ancient churches, the Storm Ruler Church, the Church of the Eternal Blazing Sun, and the Church of the God of Knowledge and Wisdom, were all ancient, being at each other's chance. That's because the Sailor, Bard, and Reader lines are interchangeable in High Sequences!

Yes, during the end of the previous Age, the Pale Era, the possible fall of Death was caused by the Overnight Goddess and the Battle God…

The captain is usually fine, in addition to his poor memory. He showed no signs of being half-crazy. I can rule out the possibility of him taking the Vampire potion!

Mr. Azik has recalled quite a lot recently. Could the Creeping Hunger really stimulate his memory?

Klein nodded and continued reading the letter.

“Mutan is not the name of a particular species. This is more like a description for many similar creatures. Under normal circumstances, they were no different from ordinary humans, but there was an innate, depressed, and twisted desire in their hearts. This desire erupted when they came into contact with a certain sight or object, they became monsters, succumbing to their desire for blood and slaughter.

"After everything is sorted out, they will return to normal again. They became a little more ruthless and heartless after every time their desires exploded, this would continue until their souls were completely twisted.

"The only example I can remember is the werewolf. They are mostly similar to humans, and they are indistinguishable using most of Beyonder's abilities. But, during the full moon, the twisted desires in their hearts increased, and their bodies changed as well.

"Your boss may be a potential mutant. The death of your teammate may have triggered his true nature.

"This is all my personal guess. I can't guarantee that there's no other possibility because I haven't gotten all my memories back. Perhaps your theory of this as a precursor to losing control may also explain this.

"Nobody saved him whether he had consumed the Vampire potion, or if he was a Mutant. Of course, many people have theorized that Mutants were originally ordinary humans, but were placed under strange curses or corrupted by gods or evil demons, and, thus, were placed under strange curses, turned into a different monster under certain circumstances.

"Also, I'm not too sure if you can treat it when you see the warning signs of losing control. I'd suggest that you report this directly to your superior and hope there's still time."

Klein looked at the table seriously after putting down the letter. He was immersed in deep thought.

He had to admit that the theory about Mutants was very likely, but he could not eliminate the possibility that it was a warning sign that he was losing control.

All I could do was wait for Mrs Daly's reply.I sent the letter two nights ago, so she should have received the letter yesterday morning. If he answered immediately, I should have seen the letter last night or this morning.. It is almost noon.. Did the messenger not dare to approach the Chanis Gate? Or is Madam Daly being held back by something? Klein shook his head. He still felt tired and used Cogitation to force himself to sleep.

In the hazy world, Klein suddenly flinched. He knew he was dreaming.

He then saw Dunn Smith in his black jacket appear in front of him.

Responding in a manner that was in keeping with a normal dream, Klein gave a delayed greeting, "Good morning .. Captain …"

Dunn slightly nodded and said, "Leonard found a clue while he was investigating the case of Lanevus. He needs your help. The Mystery Thief sent by the Sacred Cathedral will not arrive until tomorrow morning due to the fault of the train."

"Alright .." Klein replied in a short voice.

Dunn thought for a moment before adding, "You don't have to go back to Zouteland Street. Direct to 62 Howes Street. Leonard will be waiting for you there. It's been hard for you."

As he finished his sentence, Klein's dream was shattered. Klein instinctively opened his eyes.

Howes Street.. Isn't that the area where the Divination Club, my classmate Welch, and members of the Aurora Order live? There must have been a lot of incidents lately, one after another, as if they were culminating in something. Klein thought as he got up slowly. He bathed in the bathroom before changing into a white shirt, a brown vest, and a black jacket. He then took his hat and went to the living room.

It was not yet eleven, and Benson and Melissa had not returned home. Klein tells Bella that she is going out and she doesn't need to prepare lunch for him.

Leonard was still wearing a thin white shirt despite the cold September weather. She had paired it with beige pants. He swept his green eyes towards Klein.

"This may be the building that Lanevus rented under a false name."

"How do you know that?" Klein asked out of curiosity.

Leonard pointed to his head.

“Because you found a clue from Hood Eugen and suspected that Lanevus was most likely connected to a member of the Order of Aurora—cloth merchant Sirius Arapis—I had to change my way of thinking after my normal investigation revealed nothing. I started investigating Aurora. Ordering.

"Previous reports told me that Sirius interacted with many residents on Howes Street, so I searched all of them and found a problem with this one."

"What's the problem?" Klein asked.

Leonard raised his eyebrows. "The obvious problem. Guests here rarely show up. He claimed to have gone to the Southern Continent to do business after the death of Hanass Vincent and never returned. The record is very realistic, and the police found nothing."

"It's probably just a coincidence." Klein furrowed his brows.

"Of course, coincidentally. But when I showed the residents around here a picture of Lanevus, an old man felt that he looked similar to the residents at number 62, in addition to his different glasses." Leonard took out a black-and-white photo from his pocket.

Why didn't you say it earlier. Klein sneered inwardly. He enters 62 Howes Street with Leonard, and at Leonard's request, he begins to guess if there are hidden compartments or secret rooms.

The result is yes!

"Secret room or hidden compartment in this building."

Klein wrote another prophecy statement. He sat on the sofa and closed his eyes as he read out the statement.

Seven times later, he entered a dream. Vision's blurred.

In the hazy world, Klein saw a wooden bookcase. He looked at the book line by line. He saw that one of the books had been taken. He saw the wooden surface beside the book open, revealing a hidden compartment.

The scene quickly disappeared as Klein opened his eyes and told Leonard, "In the study."

Klein wrapped the topaz pendulum around his wrist and followed Leonard into the study. He looked at the wooden bookshelf he saw in his dream.

"Take out the book, the place it covers has a hidden compartment." Klein pointed to the book closest to the side.

"So here, I couldn't find anything when I searched the place, and I had no choice but to return to Zouteland Street for help" Leonard grumbled as he walked over. He took out the book Klein showed.

After searching the area, he finally found a mechanism to open the hidden compartment.

A letter lay quietly in the hidden compartment.

A letter? Lanevus hid the letter here? Klein felt that it was very strange.

After he predicted to see if there was anything dangerous in the letter and received a negative answer, Leonard took the letter and opened the unmarked envelope.

Leonard took out a letter inside and opened it.

Klein leaned forward to look at the contents. All he saw were the first few paragraphs of the letter:

“Hahaha, congratulations. Congratulations on finally finding this letter!

"This means you're not too stupid, nor too slow. You are qualified to take part in this life and death game I designed.

“Labour children who died prematurely. Rare factory workers live more than ten years after entering a factory because of their working conditions. Female workers at risk of severe pain with small salaries.I see unlimited resentment in every factory, turning the environment into oppressive and gloomy. These are the worst times, and also the best times. Our game will take place under such an arrangement.

"Stupid, prepare yourself, I'll give you a hint!"
