Klein twisted the cap of the golden bottle and carried it to his nose. He inhaled a stimulating scent that gave him energy.
It is a Holy Night Powder made using Sleeping flowers, Dragon Blood grass, dark red sandalwood, mint, and other herbs. Since it was easy to make, Klein had made batches once he got his ingredients from the underground market. That'll be useful now.
He poured a bit of Holy Night Powder on his palm and calmed down. The iris went dark.
Next, Klein put away the metal bottle and sprinkled the powder onto the ground after putting his spirituality into it.
He sprinkled the powder as he walked, forming a circle around Sirius' corpse.
A formless barrier appeared, separating them from the outside world.
Klein flicked the remaining Holy Night Powder in his hand and took out another metal bottle. He sprinkled pure dew of Amantha and other liquids in the surrounding area.
The rituals he created were different from the ones Old Neil used at Ray Bieber's house because his ritual purpose was different.
For example, Old Neil poured liquid before using Holy Night Powder. It could create a calm and holy state second only to the actual altar. Klein had used the Holy Night Powder first before pouring the liquid to prevent Sirius' residual spirituality from being interrupted by surrounding objects while still barely managing to have an environment that met the requirements of the ritual.
If he used Old Neil's method, the rest of Sirius' spirituality would be cleansed, making it impossible to establish a connection.
After finishing his preparations, Klein put away his ingredients and entered a state of Cogitation. He recited the mantra of Hermes softly, "I pray for the power of the dark night.
"i pray for the power of mystery.
"i pray for the grace of the Goddess.
"i pray that you will allow me to communicate with the spiritual heresy within this altar."
…
As the spell echoed throughout the sealed space, Klein suddenly felt a huge, terrifying, and mysterious energy descend upon it.
His eyes became completely black as if he had lost his pupils and the whites of his eyes.
Making use of the opportunity, Klein uttered a divination statement in his heart, "Clown herb formula.
"Clown herb formula."
…
As he read the statement, he used Cogitation to temporarily enter a dreamlike state.
It was a hazy gray world with no sky or land. Klein was extremely vigilant as he observed the transparent and delicate figure.
He reached out his right hand and touched the remnants of Sirius' spirit.
The scene before him changed with a rumble.
It was a study table painted with deep red paint. There were three candles on the silver candle holder, as well as a blank piece of paper.
Sirius had a pen in his hand. He wrote in Loen's language, "This is the second formula, his name in the notebook is 'Clown.'"
"80 milliliters of pure water, 5 drops of tornapple juice, 7 grams of black-framed sunflower powder, 10 grams of gold-cloak grass powder, 3 drops of poison hemlock. This is the additive."
"The main supernatural material is: one single horned crystal of a maturing mountain goat Hornacis and a human-faced rose stalk."
Sirius seemed to have recalled the formula of the Clown potion as he quickly finished writing it.
He paused for a moment and took a sip of coffee, then he removed the silver pendulum on his wrist.
He held the pendulum and closed his eyes, muttering terms to himself such as "end of time", "peace of mind", "hoping for the blessing of the Gods", and "confessing".
After Sirius finished his prayer, Klein finally saw the pendulum clearly.
Under the silver chain of wounds was a human statue the size of a thumb.
The statue has one eye, a characteristic of a giant. It was facing down, its feet bound by chains connected upwards.
At that moment, that gigantic single eye suddenly had a faint red glow.
The crack!
The scene Klein witnessed shattered as his legs were bent, almost making him kneel to the ground.
Klein felt a pain in his head as if he had been cruelly beaten on his head with a bat. His vision turned blood red as his hand involuntarily stretched out to protect his knee.
He recovered a few seconds later and stood back up. He felt that his spirituality was extremely weak, as if he had heard a mutter that pierced through his mind once more.
But due to his progress in 'digesting' the magic medicine, his negative reaction calmed down quickly.
Hanged Giant, True Creator.. Sirius and Hanass are both members of the Order of Aurora? But the Captain saw the great cross in Hanass's dream. The terrifying thing that was crucified on the cross was not the Hanging Giant of the Order of Aurora.Klein took a deep breath twice and waited for his spirituality to slowly recover.
The Aurora Order is a secret organization that appeared about two to three hundred years ago. They worship the True Creator and symbolize him with the Hanging Giant. They believe that every human being has a divine quality, and as long as they survive and make it through countless trials, they will be able to gather enough divine qualities to become angels.
According to Nighthawks internal records, Order 9 of the Aurora Order is Secrets Suppliant. These Beyonders can sense the existence of mysterious and monstrous creatures and are armed with enough knowledge about sacrifice and some knowledge of ritual magic. There is enough evidence to claim that senior Secrets Suppliants distort their worldview and lose control easily.
Little is known about Order 7 which the Order of Aurora has understood. The 8th is the listener. This is considered a pretty scary 'job' for a Beyonder.
Each Listener can listen directly to the whispers of a secret entity; thus, they often come into contact with a uniquely powerful, distorted ability. However as a result, if they were unable to advance, it was difficult for them to survive the next five years after becoming Listeners. Furthermore, the comment the Nighthawks had in the report was that every Listener was a lunatic. Even if they look normal on the surface, they are always crazy on the inside.
From the description, Secrets Suppliant is as desperate as Seer in battle. It was indeed in accordance with Sirius' actions just now. What happens then is the loss of control caused by the injury? Yes, Frye once said that every little Beyonder would undergo some strange changes after they died. Klein thought while knocking four points on his chest to praise the Goddess.
After his spirituality was slightly restored, he ended the ritual with appropriate procedures and dismantled the walls of spirituality.
With a roar, a gust of wind blew as Klein forced himself to look at Sirius' corpse.
He noticed that there were still warts clearly visible on Sirius' shattered face. It was a dark purple wart, almost black. There seemed to be liquid and light glittering within.
"What kind of transformation is that?" Klein rubbed his temple, not daring to touch it.
He leaned over and picked up his cane, letting it hold his weight.
After what had just happened, he knew that Sirius' spirituality had been completely destroyed. Even Spirit Medium Daly would not be able to communicate with him.
After a while, Klein saw Captain Dunn and his comrades, Leonard and Kenley.
"It looks like your fate is tied to Beyonders and the forces of evil. In just a few weeks, you've discovered more supernatural incidents than we usually see in a few months" Leonard joked, looking at the bodies on the ground.
"That may not be a coincidence" Klein added, as he suddenly thought of the red chimney he saw in his dream prophecy, as well as the magnificent palace on the main peak of the Hornacis mountains and the formless focus on it. He took the opportunity to mention it in passing.
Dunn scanned the surroundings and, with her gray eyes fixed on Klein, asked, "You're trying to channel his spirit?"
There were still traces of Holy Night Powder and the scent of essential oils.
"Yes," Klein replied honestly. "i'm afraid you'll be late and the remnants of his spirituality will be scattered."
"You don't look good. Are you all right?" asked Kenley short concerned.
Klein gave Sirius an undeliverable letter to the captain and started from scratch.
"When I went to the underground market to buy materials for the ritual, I suddenly remembered that Selena had also gone to the Evil Dragon Bar and Hanass Vincent had brought her there. This meant Hanass was a commoner there. So, I suspect that the person in the portrait, someone who must have been connected to Hanass, might have gone to the underground market as well.
"i asked Swain's boss about the portrait, and he gave me confirmation. He told me that the man had once tried to buy documents and items related to the Hornacis Mountains. It reminded me of the library. I remember that the librarian had mentioned that someone had just returned the edition of the journal I wanted to borrow.”.
Leonard stood to the side, listening with a smile. He suddenly interjected, "So you brought your identity documents and badge here to flip through the loan records? Actually, I am very curious; why are you in conflict with this man here? Even if it's a face-to-face meeting, in the style of doing something, you'll pretend you don't know him and will leave the library. Then you'll come to Zouteland Street to ask for our help."
"Yes, you don't have to take risks. As long as you confirm the target and he hasn't left Tingen, there will always be a way to find him" Dunn added as she reviewed the letter.
Klein immediately said in embarrassment, "The librarian recognized him and shouted for police help.
"There's no way I can pretend I didn't hear that …"
Leonard and Kenley looked at each other. One tried to cover up the tingling feeling, while the other looked to the side.
Dunn nodded, her gaze leaving the letters.
"Did you get anything from channeling his spirit?"
"I saw a Giant Hanging pendulum. I saw a flash of blood-red light in the eyes of the only giant before I was forced out of the ritual," Klein explained honestly.
He did not want to talk about the Clown potion for now because he had two considerations.
First, if Dunn and the others were able to find Sirius' hideout and related records, then it would make no difference if he told them or not, because there will be no additional contributions attributed to it.
Second, if Dunn and the others could not find it, he could report it in the future. This way, he would be given another contribution, allowing him to obtain the ingredients needed to make the potion. This is a way to earn double rewards for one task, a technique that comes from Old Neil's recent teachings.
"Aurora's Order?" Dunn muttered to herself before she asked some relevant questions.
After Klein answered all his questions, he saw fatigue in Klein's eyes and waved his staff.
"Not bad. You foiled a scheme targeting Tingen. You can go back and rest. Kenley, bring Old Neil here."
After giving the instructions, Dunn smiled bitterly and shook her head.
"Before Sequence 6, Beyonders of the Sleepless Pathway lacked many additional abilities. We can only perform the simplest ritual magic."
"Captain, you mean from Sequence 6 onwards, the Beyonder Sleepless pathway will get an improvement in the corresponding aspect?" Klein asked out of curiosity.
"Yes," Dunn confirmed.
…
After leaving the Deweyville Library, Klein several times nearly fell asleep on the train on the way back to Daffodil Road.
He limped into the house, took off his hat and jacket before falling asleep on the sofa.
Moments later, he suddenly woke up, took out his pocket watch, and opened it.
"Melissa will be back in half an hour, Benson in forty-five minutes. If I don't wake up, I'll have to make them wait an hour before we can have dinner…" Klein rubbed his forehead as he entered the kitchen room.
He washed his face with cold water, then took out the tails, tomatoes, carrots, and onions he bought that afternoon.
After he prepared the ingredients, he suddenly froze. He felt that his actions had just formed a strange juxtaposition with the events of that afternoon.
"I am the man who just saved Tingen .." murmured Klein amusedly. He was wearing a white apron and had to make dinner.
