Chapter 42: The Hero Behind the Shadow

Two years ago ....

"I go home ..," said Yuuratsu as he faced the two gatekeepers from the village where he lived. The desert wind blew away his shabby-looking brownish robe. Apparently, he had just completed a mission.

"Welcome back, Mr. Yuuratsu." The village gatekeepers greeted Yuuratsu with pale faces and looked terrified.

"Np? What's up?" Yuuratsu raised next to his eyebrows, looking astonished. "Why are your faces pale?"

"Hi-Hideki ..," said one of the gatekeepers.

"Hm? What's wrong with my sister?"

"General Magus' army came here ... and kidnapped him ...."

"WHAT?!" Yuuratsu. Both of his eyes instantly opened.

"Bad!!!" yuuratsu exclaimed as he kicked the city's protective wall in frustration. "Wimp!!! How dare they go after my family when I'm not in the village!!!"

"Well-Well .. sir don't follow your brother ...."

"Eh? Why?" Yuuratsu scrunched his forehead.

"That brings the master's sister is ... General Vriltz ..., the third strongest general. Even though you are a great revolutionary fighter, we doubt you will be able to return safely."

Right after saying that, Yuuratsu took off, darting at high speed into the blue and vast sky. The blue light from his jetpack fire shrank, and eventually vanished entirely from sight. The two soldiers who failed to prevent Yuuratsu from leaving could only lean with disappointed faces on the city's protective walls.

"Good luck, sir ...," said one of the guards.

"Great God, Yuuratsu the Eternal Machina Knight is on his way here. Now it's twenty meters northeast of the city" said Supreme General Zard as he looked at the projected holographic magic radar above his wrist.

"Already expected," said the Magus God while grinning savagely. "So soon he got into our trap .... He's hotter-blooded than I thought."

"So ... What should I do next, Great God?" ask a living skull whose half of the face is covered in an iron mask decorated with black crystals and the tip of a trident. Both of his eye holes were filled with a fiery red light. He was the second most powerful general, Yuratailer Crallion. He flicked his dark black robe and knelt respectfully before the Magus God while placing his fist on the left chest.

"Tell all units and troops in the city of Rainzar not to attack Revolutionary Fighters Yuuratsu!!! And deactivate the palace's protective magic barrier!!!" the Magus God's.

"Ready, carry it out, Great God," said General Crallion as he stood up and turned his body, then hurried to leave the room with formal steps.

The Great God Magus again grinned savagely, baring his teeth. "Yuuratsu Avalion .., the Eternal Knight Machina .... Soon .... You'll be mine ...."

Meanwhile, the distance between Yuuratsu and Rainzar city was getting shorter. Yuuratsu frowned with a huff. He bit his lips, then piqued. "Damnu .... How dare they use Hideki as bait ...."

"B*jerk!! I will not forgive!!!" Yuuratsu's jetpack speed instantly doubled. A thick layer of cumulonimbus clouds was visible from a distance, and soon the protective wall of Rainzar was also visible. The clear blue sky was now replaced by a dark gray sky. Thick clouds block the sunlight. The lightning continued to strike, its lightning seemed like a bluish-white dragon.

Regardless of the danger of a lightning strike or the risk of being attacked by the guards, Yuuratsu continued to dart forward towards the Magus God palace, passing through the city gates and streets that were only filled with living skulls as well as Magus God warriors.

"Hey, are we really not supposed to attack him?" One of the living skulls whispered to his companion.

"You're crazy, huh? You want the Magus God to kill us?" colleague said.

"After all, the Great Magus God must have a plan about this. It's impossible for him to order us to do this for no reason" said another living skull.

"Haaahhh .. alright ...." The lively skull that had opened the conversation let out a disappointed breath.

Now, Yuuratsu had arrived at the palace of the Magus God. Furious, the young man broke the glass window of the throne room and entered through the hole, then deactivated his jetpack. His teeth were wrathful when he saw the figure who ordered the kidnapping of his sister. The Magus God and his subordinates who saw that their target had come smiled with satisfaction. That made Yuuratsu even more black.

"Oh, so you've been dat-"

"Say, where's my sister?!" Yuuratsu gripped the collar of the Magus God robe with emotion, while the Magus God subordinates prepared to attack. "Where is he?!"

*braa!!!*

The Magus God unleashed an energy boost that instantly sent Yuuratsu crashing onto the floor covered in a luxurious carpet of bright red.

"Hey, be polite a little, mortal lowly." The Magus God stood up from his throne chair while looking with disdain at Yuuratsu who was gritting his teeth full of annoyance. His gaze really looked demeaning.

"Damn it!! I'll kill you if anything happens to my sister!!!" yuratsu.

"Just calm down, Knight Eternal Machina. Your sister is here."

Hearing that voice, Yuuratsu immediately turned to the direction the voice came from. General Crallion was holding a purple-haired boy, aged around five to seven years old.

"Sister!!!" exclaim the boy.

"Hi-Hideki!!" Yuuratsu's eyes were wide.

"Let go!! Give her back to me!!!" yuuratsu exclaimed as he ran towards General Crallion. However, a boost of energy again sent him crashing down.

"Damn it!!!" Yuuratsu grumbled with annoyance. The pain began to spread throughout his body.

"Don't be careless, Knight Eternal Machina," said General Crallion while grinning savagely. With his hands still free, he created a dark dagger and held it in his right hand, then brought the knife closer to Hideki's neck. "One move, and your brother's neck will be severed."

"B*jerk!!" yuuratsu's curse with rage. "Wimp!!!"

"There is one way that your sister can survive" said the Magus God. "Join the army of the Magus God, and be a part of us."

"You're telling me to join the b*jinks like you?!"

"If you refuse, your brother's neck will be cut off right now."

The words of the Magus God made Yuuratsu die fleas instantly. "B*jerk!!!" objurgation.

"So how? You have ten seconds to decide."

"He-Hey, that little time is enough for-"

"10."

Yuuratsu had not had time to protest, the Magus God had first started his countdown.

"Curtain, shit!!!" Yuuratsu looked riled up and confused. If he chose to join the army of the Magus God, then he would betray his destiny as a revolutionary fighter. However, if he refused, his sister's life would be lost.

Yuuratsu's cry instantly stopped General Crallion's movement, making all those in the throne room turn their heads towards the young man.

"I ... chose to join you guys ...!!" Yuuratsu exclaimed once more, looking very steady and confident.

"Fu .. fu .. fu .... Good ...," said General Magus while chuckling.

"Register .... Are you sure?" tanya Hideki is worried.

"Take it easy, Hideki" Yuuratsu said with a smile. "I promise you, I'll be back in the village as soon as this mission is over."

"Promise, yes, brother?"

"Yes, I promise. I assure you, we will both be safe and able to return to the village."

Then, I did a little disguise with a black robe and a crescent moon-symbol mask. Hideki has been returned to the village where I live. However, for the sake of making sure he stays safe, I continue to carry out the tasks given by the Magus God. Mission after mission I keep going. I have to look like an antagonist, and in order to make that happen . I have to act brash and do dirty things. I opened my eyes, staring at the bright blue sky and adorned with clouds.

"Sorry, Senior Pythius. Apparently, we have to cancel the coup plot ...," Yuuratsu said with a face filled with despair.

Supreme General Pythius got up from his kneeling position, then smiled with sadness as he looked at Yuuratsu's body. "Goodbye .., First General Yuuratsu Avalion, The Eternal Knight Machina ...."

"Maybe your name will be etched in history not as a hero, but as a ruthless villain, a lesser killer than anything else. But ..., you're a real hero ...."

Meanwhile, in a village, a child was staring out the window of his house with a look of hope. Apparently, this boy was left alone and was waiting for his family to come home. Although his family had not come home for days, his wait did not fade. He continues to struggle to maintain his mood so as not to break up consumed by worry and fear. While sighing heavily, the boy said: "Sister ... hasn't come home yet, yes ...."
