"Well," Gen and Yuto said simultaneously.
The four of them immediately set foot through the gate that had opened. The long hallway seemed to stretch for about 8-10 meters, with the floor and roof of the gray shiny marble stone rat, flanked by a pair of rows of blazing flames and extending to the end of the hall. Hot air is approaching Gen and Yuto. The bodies of the two young men began to drip sweat. However, they were both forced to endure the burning heat of the skin because if they complained, then they could be killed right then and there because they were caught just pretending.
After a few minutes passed, finally the 10-meter-long, hell-like passageway they managed to travel. Now, they entered a spacious room with dozens of living skulls on guard. The marble floor covering the room is covered in dark purple carpet, and bright red carvings decorate the walls of the dark black room. A lava fountain appeared to be standing right in the middle of the room, spitting out lava that was then mixed back into the lava pool.
"Hey, Altz, Rick!! You guys brought in new arrivals?" One of the living skulls wearing dark black armor with two glowing red crystals embedded in the chest and bright purple patterns adorning the armor greeted Altz and the other living skull — Rick —'s
"Oh, Delta!!" Rick replied to his old friend.
"You're the one, Delta." Altz also returned the greeting of his old friend.
The black armored living skull with a purple pattern named Delta was staring at Altz and Rick with a look of disdain. "So you guys still hold on to the rank of soldiers, huh? What a pity."
"Hey, hey, don't be arrogant just because you've risen to the rank of commander, Delta!!!" sahut Rick's.
"Yes, don't be arrogant, Delta." Altz approached his partner and grabbed him, then choked him slowly. He didn't seem upset at all. Instead, they just look like best friends who are joking.
"He-hey!! Release, fool!! How dare you do this to a commander, hahaha." Delta replies to Altz's joke while laughing, though his flat jaw makes it difficult for him to smile.
"YES, yes, COMMANDER OF THE DELTA." Altz said as he released Delta from his strangulation with an emphasis on the words: 'Delta Commander', as if mocking.
"Damn you!" Delta hit Altz's shoulder slowly.
"Already, already. We better not joke while we're on duty. We might have a problem. Rick and I will be delivering these two new members first, yeah!!" Altz stopped their jokes.
"Yes" said Delta, turning her body. "Hopefully it works" he said, waving his thin right arm and consisting only of bones.
"Yes." Yeah." Altz returned the wave of the hand, then turned his gaze towards Gen and Yuto. He and Rick rushed to the two young men and flanked them back. "Let's continue, Gen's brother and Yuto's brother."
"Hey, did you hear me?"
"What?"
Bad premonitions begin to overwhelm Gen and Yuto. Cold sweat started dripping from their bodies. Were their actions discovered?
"Both of the southern gatekeepers of the city were found dead, and their Magus Badge was both lost."
The cold sweat flowed increasingly profusely on Gen and Yuto's body. The two young men gulped down, trying not to look panicked. Apparently, their plan this time did not go well.
"Well, it's dangerous. That means their assassins are both disguised as warriors of darkness."
"Yes. It's dangerous, isn't it?"
The cold sweat flowed increasingly profusely on Gen's body and post-Altz Yuto and Rick stared at the two young men with squeaking gazes, as if suspicious of their true identities.
"The killer wasn't you, was he?" Rick asked with a suspicious look that forced Gen and Yuto to gulp down.
"Of course not." The brothers tried their best not to look panicked.
"Oh, huh?" Altz stared with a suspicious look. His right hand began to grasp the handle of the sword embedded in his back, preparing to pull it out of the sword sheath. "Can you show me the sword that's on your back?"
"Ukh!!" Gen gulped down once again. "Knowledge, dammit!!" he swore in his heart.
