Prologues

Silent. The night felt very lonely. Not a single crickets sound. It was as if all the sounds within this forest were silenced by the forest itself. The sinister aura of the forest plus the silence of the night made things even more revolving. If it continues like this I will not stand it.

Me and some of my friends were camping in a forest far from home, a forest just outside the city. Although the position of the forest is slightly different from the map, but the atmosphere of this forest feels suitable for those of us who are looking for a new atmosphere for adventure.

I don't know what ever happened in this forest, but I couldn't seem to feel calm from the moment I stared at the body of the forest. The feeling of the forest was also looking back at me.

Suddenly from behind me I felt something coming. I looked around, watching closely everything behind me. There's nothing. I stepped into the tent. There is no here either. Only my stuff, seli, and Layla are here. But I clearly felt his presence. I looked out the window of the tent. From a distance there was a black shadow. The shadow was faintly visible then swallowed by the darkness. I took a deep breath. Maybe just my hallucinations. Maybe I'm just exhausted. Well, just exhausted.

“Lina! Get outside! Otherwise you won't get the grilled fish!” Seli who was near the campfire shouted at me. I rushed out of the tent, gathering with the others.

“Hey, why are you? Like people just saw ghosts, you know! Keep your face very pale! You sick?” Seli looks worried about me. Seli and Mery are my best friends, even their nature is not much different. Well, they are nosy and annoying couples.

I shook my head, “No. I'm just exhausted.”

“Tadi morning before leaving you are tired first.” Arthur is chilled with a mouth full of grilled fish. He ate it so crazily.

“Nih, eat first. It will be better.” Arthur stuck one grilled fish on me. The mouth of the fish was pierced with small cut bamboo. I took the roasted fish. Tastes good.

Arthur is a student who is in my class. We are all classmates. Arthur has the more severe nature of a nosy and annoying couple, because he always sticks to me.

“Who brought this fish?” I asked in a mouth full of fish. I can't stop eating soft meat with a salty taste like this. Now I know why Arthur ate grilled fish like that.

“You don't know? There were grandfathers here. He said his house was in the woods too. At first I doubted. Where would anyone want to live here? This place is very scary if only lived alone. But that grandfather was very brave for being able to live in a forest like this. And he's a very good grandfather. He gives all these fish for free.” Percy explained slowly and gently. Arthur glared at him. ‘I should have said it’ as if that sentence was thrown from his facial expression.

Percy Ericson, a tall thin man with round glasses who always perches on the tip of his nose. Do not forget also with brown hair that is always neatly arranged. This should be what an exemplary student looks like, right?

I swallowed spit. Grandparents? Is it true that there will be people living here? By himself? Elderly? Just be right! There is no source of life here. I don't see the lake, the sea, or anything like that. Not even the trees here bear any fruit. Something was turning and clashing.

“Lin?!” Arthur gently touched my shoulder. I'm aghast. My breaths. I unconsciously hugged Arthur who was beside me.

“Hei?!” Arthur clasped my head with his palm. I don't know why I'm crying.

“Lina?” Seli who was on the other side was getting more worried. My friends are also getting closer.

“Bring him to the tent! Let him rest.” Liya exclaimed at Arthur. His sharp gaze made Arthur speechless. He was the only one of my many friends who was mature and reliable.

Arthur lifted my body. I don't know why her hard arm felt soft touching the skin from behind my clothes. Warm and comfortable. After that I don't remember anything anymore.

The novel is still in the revision stage and the author will do it one by one. The novel 'The Hidden World' also has another version in the title 'Curse of the Abyss' which is still not author uploaded.

The Curse of the Abyss

In this novel there is a character reduction. If in THW the MC is Lina with a first-person perspective, then in COTA MC is Arthur with POV author aka third-person perspective. The mysteries presented would also be very much different. The name placement of each character also underwent a slight change.

COTA novels are made specifically for male readers because they use a slightly heavy language, in contrast to THW which is a very light language.
