Sumayahs

Sumayahs
A Stiff Night

The darkening night, covering the earth with a concentration of his skin, did not dampen Sumayah's steps down the thick hallway of the hospital. True what the nurse said, when the night hallway leading to the morgue dimmed even some of the lights blinked exactly like in horror films.

Silent, quiet, there were no sounds from the surroundings not even a single medic was visible from his nose. Staying alert, she carried her limped steps towards the exit the nurse pointed out.

His heart thumped, as soon as he read a signboard that read 'the morgue' right in front of him. The end of this hallway is so dark. I saw nothing but a speck of light. Makes the guts grow shrunk.

"No! I can't stop here! I've made it past them, now I have to keep going whatever I'm going to face up ahead." Sumayah strengthened her heart. His heartbeat timidly made the breath in the chest so deep felt.

Sumayah who had stopped because of the tense atmosphere of the hallway, continued her footsteps that she dragged. Pain in the intimate part of postpartum, making his steps limped. Occasionally grimacing until hissing when the pain invaded the veins of his body.

"Ughh! I have to be strong!" He stopped his steps, taking a deep breath away from the sudden pain. The baby in his carrier fell asleep, not disturbed at all.

Sumayah glanced at him at a glance, she commented a smile. Gently rubbed his cheek. Then, kiss the baby.

"We'll fight together, baby. Be strong! We can definitely get through this," Sumayah muttered back to kiss the little forehead.

He let out a rough breath, after feeling a little lost he resumed his steps. Passing through a creepy morgue. Right on the left side of the room. The dark glass used in the room, he was grateful that he finally did not have to see what was in there.

The morgue is at the end of the hallway. After that, there was nothing else but water taps lined up on the back. Sumayah stopped at the end of the ceramic floor, in front of her now the wet grassy ground was drenched in rain.

He stuck out his hand, feeling the drops of water falling from the sky. A small drizzle was still felt on the skin of his palm. She pulled her hand, then glanced at the baby.

"Are you strong through the drizzle out there, son? I'm afraid, if we delay our departure they'll realize that you and Mom are missing. I'm sorry, but we have to leave immediately. May God take care of you, dear." He pecked back at the baby's forehead before rounding off the determination to break through the drizzle.

Sumayah allowed her baby blanket, covering the entire red body so that rainwater did not directly hit her skin.

"Bismilbornrahmanirrahim!" It's out. Stepping on the wet grass with his bare feet. Wallowing water splashed at his feet, leaving a trail due to the mud being stepped on. He bent his body to protect his son. Keep paddling steps leaving the darkness of the passage.

The place was exactly like a warehouse. A lot of broken medical equipment was lying there. Starting from wheelchairs, hospital beds, to kitchen tools are there. Exhausting exactly.

Sumayah, looking for the path that the nurse meant.

"Find a tall flower plant around the wall, open it and get out of there!" The words of the nurse who helped her burrow in the ear when she was about to take her baby in the special nursery.

The nurse very coincidentally was being ordered to examine baby Sumayah. Be, she met the woman at the time Sumayah wanted to take the baby. Midnight is almost here.

"Mrs!" call him in a whisper. The nurse spread a cloth blocking Sumayah from the surveillance camera in the baby room. Sumayah knew, she walked half crouching with a tight hold on her intimate part. Take the baby quickly, and return carefully.

The condition of the hospital corridor that was quiet, even the guards who were changing shif with others made it easier for Sumayah to carry out her plan.

"Hurry now! Before they come!" the nurse pinta was in cold sweat that flooded her face. There were some babies inside that special room. The nurse replaced the baby Sumayah with another baby.

"High flower plant? But all of them are tall flower plants, how could I quickly find my way?" sue Sumayah after noticing the high wall in front of her. He started to panic.

Especially when a voice was caught thick, Sumayah was on guard. He turned around and waited for who was with him at this moment. Sumayah who was tense even to gulp her saliva was difficult. Waiting with concern who is approaching.

Miaow!

A cat jumped from behind a reerongsokan in front of him. Sumayah rubbed her chest in relief.

"Astaghfiullah! Oh God! Just a cat" he said.

"Could that cat give me a clue?" murmured with a frown on the forehead.

Amidst the confusion, the panicked Sumayah grew more panicked when she heard the noise and clattering steps in the dark hallway she passed earlier.

Without thinking any more, Sumayah approached where the cat was digging the ground. Waving the flower plant using his right hand, he went in and hid behind the plants. Lucky, because it grows tall and many plants that cover his body.

A group of people came in official uniforms, looking for the traces that Sumayah had left behind. However, the footprints of the woman were missing swept away by the water that descended from the sky.

"Nothing!" yell at one of them.

"Damn! Come on, quickly find! Master will punish us if the woman escapes from here" another hardened frustrated.

Sumayah covered her own mouth, holding back the roar of breath in order not to be heard by them. He who was crouching suddenly sat down for a moment the pain attacked. Sumayah whimpered restrained.

"There! I heard a voice!" One of them shouted while pointing towards Sumayah hiding.

The woman panicked, she was found out. Confused where he went because they were so many. Surround that place. There was no room for him to escape.

"Where?"

"There! On that big flower tree! I heard a whimpering."

"You're sure it's human?"

"Don't be crazy! You're just scaring me with such mystical things. I'm sure it's him!"

"Well, let's check!" bring him. They walked closer towards Sumayah's hideout. Followed a few more behind them.

Sumayah retreated, they took a step forward, she retreated. Now, the men in the uniform were right in front of him. Sumayah clutched her baby tightly, breathing quickly looking for a way to keep her from getting caught.

"Where did you hear it?" ask one of them. He crouched down where the cat dug the ground earlier. Look closely at the shape of the excavation.

"Here, I hear a whimpering voice here. She's like a painkiller, you know what she sounds like? Shhhh .. ugh!"

Plaque!

The head that just got hit by his partner.

"But all these plants! Don't miss a single one of your eyes!" tell the leader of the group by shouting loudly.

Without saying it, they began to spread the plant starting from the tip. Sumayah was sweating.

'Oh Allah! Help me, help your servant. I don't want to get caught. Help me, O God!' he murmured in the heart. Pray and ask the power to save him from the targets of those people.

They moved from both directions, getting closer and closer. Sumayah closed her eyes tightly. The baby's hold she moaned, her tears dripping involuntarily. Is this just his struggle? And it must end without a meaningful fight.

Arrived when the two pairs of hands were right where they were hiding ....
