Sumayahs

Sumayahs
Tree House

"Sir!" squealed the old woman who was walking in front of them. Suddenly, the man looked behind the body. Nah! They did not lead here, they walked simultaneously towards the village of Hulu Sungai.

"Come, Mom! Hurry along! They are not heading here, they are heading to the village" he said, confirming the location of Sumayah's hand that was embracing her shoulder.

The three walked back and entered the forest.

'The forest again?' grumbled Sumayah in heart. He who has just come out of the forest goes back into the other forest. Is the forest the safest place to be?

"Mom, which tree did the house build on it?" asked the old man with his intermittent breathing. They had reached the heart of the forest where the tall trees were growing. The leaves are thick, covering the height of every tree in there.

"See, I'll find you first, sir." The old woman looked around, looking for which tree she remembered built a house on it.

"Here, sir!" he shouted while showing a root rope hanging from the tree. The rope is different from the other ropes although both are made from the roots of the tree.

"Come, Madam! My wife has found her place" he asked, returning to Sumayah to approach the tree the old woman showed.

Sumayah gulped as she looked up at nothing up there. There are only leaves that cover the trunk of the tree to the shoots.

"Behind the leaves there is a house from the board that the parents built for their children's playgrounds while looking for firewood," explained the old man answered Sumayah's confusion.

"Can the madam climb upstairs?" tanyanya hesitated considering Sumayah's feet were covered in wounds.

"I'll try it, sir" said Sumayah as she removed her hand from the old man's shoulder.

The old woman who helped him pull the root rope earlier, immediately a ladder made of roots came down and unrolled from the top to dangle down.

"Did you guys make all this?" Sumayah was amazed to see how the villagers were so ingenious that they were able to build the hidden place.

"Yes, Madam. We purposely built it here" he said with a smile.

"Bismilbornrahmanirrahim!" Sumayah held both the right and left straps tightly. He began to lift his right leg up on a ladder made of bamboo.

"Aragh!" his groan when the pain from the wound that collided with the bamboo was so pronounced that it pierced his leg.

"Mrs, are you okay?" ask the old man worried.

"No ... no! I'm fine" said Sumayah with a heavy breath. It draws in as much air as possible before slowly throwing it away. He shook off all the fatigue and began to climb up the wooden children assembled into a base to stand on.

As vigorously as possible, he continued to tread on it as he would occasionally stop to catch his breath before continuing his steps until he arrived under the leaves covering the tree. All the leaves were scattered and there was a board that resembled a door.

"Push it, madam! That's the door" said the old man, holding his voice so as not to scream.

Sumayah pushed it open enough for one adult to enter. Sumayah went inside it, not as bad as what it looked from the outside. Inside it was quite spacious even he could lie there. The shape is square clean and neat.

Sumayah crawled inside, she cleaned the floor of the board to welcome her son.

"This, Sir! Take this baby to the Madam. After this we have to get out of here, I want to cook for Madam's meal" said the old lady.

The old man took over baby Salim and took him up to the tree house. He did not go into it, just gawked a little because the room inside was not enough for many adults to occupy.

"Madam, forgive us, but we have to get out of here. Stay here until it's safe enough for Madam. We will get Madam clothes to change also blankets, and food .. of course," said the old man while handing Salim to Sumayah.

"Thank you, sir. I have no problem staying here for a while until my body recovers and the wounds on my legs dry up. Did I not trouble you and Mom?" Sumayah took the baby. Keep it warm.

"Yes, Madam. Ah ... we must have left a trace unconsciously for leaving the blanket there," said the old man also felt the gold that struck Sumayah.

"Then, how, sir? Do they know this place? I can't afford to run anymore" Sumayah said desperately.

"You take it easy, madam. They won't know this place, now I'll roll the rope and keep it here" he said.

He pulled and rolled the rope and kept it in the tree house.

"The problem with this ladder, you can pull it after I go down" said Sumayah.

She went down and left Sumayah alone with her baby. The two carried firewood as they exited the forest they had deliberately collected to trick the people in black uniforms.

"Oh Allah .. when will all this end? I'm tired" said Sumayah. He laid his body with Salim. Sleeping is not a problem, right?

"We found this inside the hut" reported one of the men in uniform who searched the hut belonging to the pair.

He brought a blanket of used babies and a cloth that Sumayah used to carry him.

"Not wrong anymore! He's here, he's probably hiding in the village" their chief said, squeezing a blanket he held.

"Quick! Don't let him escape again this time!" his orders took the blanket with them along with his entourage.

They were the second group that Kevin sent to look for Sumayah in the village of Hulu Sungai. The clattering of steps sounded simultaneously shaking the pesawahan land that the two parents stepped on behind the hut.

"Thank God, we're safe, sir," thankfully the old woman rubbed her chest in relief.

"Yes, Mom." The two left the hut to their house on the outskirts of the village.

The house, too, was inspected by them. The pair of old men walked without sin as if there was nothing they knew. The people who surrounded his house did not feel suspicious at all because they came with firewood in their hands.

"What's this, sir?" asked the old man with his voice that vibrates typical of old people.

"We're looking for a fugitive who escaped" they said. Not much to say anymore, they both let the shack house be searched by Kevin's people. After finding nothing, everything just left.

They also entered the house, preparing change of clothes for Sumayah and food.

"Sir, if the Madam stays there sooner or later they will find her" the old woman chanted as she stirred up the food she cooked using firewood.

"Would we take the Madam to our new home, ma'am?" the old man said after thinking for a while.

"We'll talk about this with Madam when we deliver the food later." Both agree.
