Sumayahs
One Year Passed

Like a ruin, my heart is broken for it. Like a landslide, I numb the way it was made.

Physically injured due to an incision, will not be as hurt as the injured heart even without a scratch.

Let the physical hurt, let the skin be scratched, just do not take love from my heart. Let him remain with me even without abundant treasure.

One year has passed, Sumayah lived a life as a fishmonger in a stall owned by a master. His attitude and all his friendly behavior, make the residents sympathize with him.

He can work quietly even though he never opens his face cover. This is not a problem for the local people. They greatly appreciated Sumayah as a well-behaved transfer resident.

"Bu Sari, where's her son going? How come you never seem to play outside?" ask one of the co-workers beside him.

"My son is very closed, Mom. He's a little hard to make friends, prefers himself. He said, at home just waiting for Mom to come home," replied Sumayah a little lie is fine, right? All that he did was to keep him safe while he went to work.

With Salim staying at his house, the boy will be safe and Kevin's people won't find him.

"Oh, so. If his son wants to be like that, yeah, what else?" sahut while returning to his work just like Sumayah.

Arrange fresh fish to be dried and made into salted fish, is Sumayah's job in addition to having to go around selling it if you want additional money. Whatever, Sumayah did so as soon as possible to have enough money for him to get out of the village.

While elsewhere, business opponents from the boss where Sumayah worked were horrendous by a competition.

"Eh, did you hear in the city there's a traveling board looking for a woman. The prize is very large to be able to support children and grandchildren for seven generations. I suspect, the woman who works in the hall next door that is in the picture, her eyes are very similar," said someone at a gathering.

"Why? Isn't he not suspicious at all? He is always nice to everyone, polite and likes to share. So what makes you suspicious? Is it because her face is always covered?" defend the others with a dislike expression.

"Right, as long as he stays here, right, we never see him doing suspicious things. It can't be so bad to think of others, pamali!" the other timpal defended.

Their gossip came to a halt as a group of men walked past them. The men in black uniforms were neat and clean, led by two citizens who became the guide of the road.

"Who are they?"

"Not knowing."

"It looks like they're headed to the rented back of the mosque."

"It's true, look!"

The curious mothers also huddled together to find out what happened in the place.

"They went to Sari's contract, what do they want?"

It sounded like thousands of bees were attacking. The sound of the door being broken down forcefully jerked their bodies.

"Take me off! Who're you! Why did you enter my house without permission?! Untie me?! Where are you taking me?"

The sound of Salim's screams rang out to the houses of the people around the place.

Two men forced Salim out of his rented house. The boy rebelled asking to be released.

"Take me off, damn it! I'll report you to my mother!" his screams again while rebelling grew stronger.

One man blocked Salim, locked him in a cage. Others gave two brown envelopes to two residents who led their way.

"Bad you guys! It turns out you're the one who reported to them!" salim's screams cursed the two citizens who were laughing happily after getting the reward.

Salim was forcibly dragged away by those who blocked him. His little brain was forced to think hard to figure out how he could run from their checks.

Glancing at the hand he was in, as powerful as Salim bit the hand meat. Until his little teeth tore the skin of the hand and let out fresh blood.

With his cheques released with deafening screams, Salim immediately ran away from them. Go with the men in black uniforms. Run nimble, dodge nimble. His little body is highly trained in running. It is slippery like an eel wriggling in the hands of a hunter.

"Mother! Mama! I have to find Mom!" he murmured with a stupefied breath while continuing to run.

His little body slipped into the narrow alleys of the people's house. Running as fast as lightning was almost invisible. Salim with his small legs managed to get away from their pursuit.

He's headed to Sumayah's workplace. His spirit flared up when the building where his mother worked was already visible in plain sight.

"Mother! Mama! They're taking me, Mother! Help me!" salim shouted as soon as he managed to enter the building where Sumayah worked.

Sumayah, who was tidying up the fish she was about to sell, was stunned to hear Salim's screaming voice.

"Congratulations! SALIM!" Sumayah no longer paid attention to her work. He turned around and immediately ran over to the small figure who was stinging towards him.

"Congratulations! What's going on?" asked Sumayah while lifting Salim's body in a sling. Without waiting and indifferent to the views of the people around him, Sumayah left the building where they worked.

Running out of nowhere his important foot steps can get away from their pursuit.

"People dressed in black came to the house. They broke down the door of the house and forced Salim to come with them, Mother. Salim's scared, Mother. Salim did not want to go with them. Salim wants to be with Mom alone, Salim does not want to separate from Mom," he reported while buried his face on Sumayah's shoulders.

"Already, ssssttt .. don't cry! I'm gonna get Salim out of here. We'll get out of here" Sumayah said as she continued to run away from the village.

"Then, what about our savings at home, Mom? Are we just gonna leave him? Didn't I have difficulty collecting it," said Salim remembered the savings he calculated every day from the results of Sumayah selling fish.

"Don't think about it! You can find more money, but Salim's safety can't be bet on!" sahut Sumayah with her tears falling drop by drop.

'Brazen you, Kevin! Just look! Once I manage to escape, I will avenge all that you have done!' said Sumayah in heart.

His feet kept on driving with Salim in the sling. No matter the sweat that is increasingly pouring out, also the tears that are increasingly making the river.

"Where are we going, Mother?" salim asked as his small eyes stared at the expanse of the sea. Sumayah ran to the beach.

"We'll go with the fishermen. We'll hitchhike on their boat and get off somewhere else. Never mind, don't ask too many questions!" pinta Sumayah was moving her feet closer to the sea.

Luckily, a boat was preparing to go sailing. Sumayah did not want to be left behind.

His feet ran on the rough sand. Plus Salim in his arms.

"You can't run anymore, madam!"

Sumayah was stunned, her two legs suddenly came to a halt as a group of Kevin's bodyguards blocked her path.

Sipping stale saliva to wet his dry throat. Both his hands were tightened on Salim's body. Hold him with all his might. Whatever happens as long as his life is still fused with his body, he will still fight and defend Salim.
