Promise .. When you say it, it must be fulfilled. If the buffalo is held in the rope then, the human is held in his speech.
In the all-white room, lay a child who was still comfortable wandering in his subconscious. He who is helpless cannot move even if only one finger.
On the sofa still in the same room, sat a grown man restlessly. A messy, tangled and haggard appearance. Unkempt aut-sea hair. Dark circles formed in his swollen eyes. A regretful gurat was clearly visible on every vein of his face.
"Young Master is severely dehydrated, sir. Has the Young Master not eaten well for these few days?" The statement as well as the question from the doctor yesterday really hit his heart.
He was unable to answer the doctor.
"Fortunately, the Young Master was quickly taken to the Hospital, otherwise I don't know what will happen to him." The doctor's voice came back to his ears. It felt like a few seconds ago he spoke.
"I'm sorry, Salim!" An increasingly frustrated Kevin scooped his face rough. Tears trickled back as he turned his gaze to the sickly bed beside him.
"What should Dad do? I can't give you back to him, I don't want to lose you again. Please, wake up, son! We can talk" said Kevin expectantly.
He approached Salim's bed, grasped his son's weak fingers and kissed him. His right hand rubbed Salim's hair and he let out his forehead.
How much Kevin loved Salim! He could not bear to see the condition of his son who was helpless, but returned it to Sumayah he did not want to do it. Hate and resentment had really stuck in his heart.
"If you were my father, you should have defended him."
Salim's words came back like thousands of flies attacking his eardrums. Buzzing non-stop.
"If you love her, you should believe her."
Back the sarcastic sentence tapped on his spiritual senses. Making Kevin's mind filled with Salim's words that struck his heart.
"You're right, son. I should have defended him, I should have believed him. But, do you know? All the evidence points to him and he is completely unable to defend himself. Your mother has betrayed our marriage, Salim. You should know that, son."
Kevin kissed Salim's hand. Wishing the boy would soon open his eyes and see him as Father.
"Mother!" muttered weak Salim.
The little petals twitched, Kevin was aghast. He stood up and immediately pressed the call button.
"Congratulations! Honey, it's Dad, son!" he said with an immeasurable sense of happiness.
"Mother! Don't die!" Salim muttered again to Sumayah.
It is heartache Kevin because Sumayah remains in the heart of the child.
"Mother! Get up and get Salim!" The weak voice was getting into Kevin's heart. However, for now he had to put his ego aside. Salim's recovery is more important for now.
"Congratulations! It's Dad, open your eyes!" kevin said again hoping Salim would recognize him.
"Excuse me, Sir! We'll check on Young Master!" permission of the doctor who came with his team.
Kevin stepped aside to give the medical team room to check on Salim. He waited anxiously, thinking to her about Juan that he needed his presence at this moment. True what his former assistant said, when he was in need of someone no one came to help. He's alone now.
"How, Doctor?" chase Kevin as soon as the doctor finishes checking.
"Young Master's condition is stable, it's best to make his heart happy, Master because it will speed up his recovery" the doctor suggested with a relieved smile.
Kevin approaches Salim after the medical team leaves his son's room. Those little eyes had opened despite turning away from him. Salim still refused to look at Kevin.
"Salim-"
"Don't talk to me!" salim quickly shook the blanket to cover his face.
"Salim, can we talk? I'll listen to what Salim wants to say. Can't you?" pinta Kevin with his hands in the air was about to touch Salim's body in the blanket. However, stop him doing.
Silent. There is no word from under the blanket. Salim's still keeping his mouth shut not wanting to talk to Kevin.
"Congratulations, let's talk, boy! What Salim wants to say I'll listen to. We can talk from heart to heart, right?" pinta Kevin never gave up.
Juan, I really need you right now.
Wishing Juan was by his side and helping him to win Salim's heart.
Still the same, Salim had not opened his mouth. Kevin thought about how to persuade Salim to talk.
Should I go fishing by talking about it?
A small mutter was done to his heart. Sumayah name in mind.
"Do you .. want your mother?" Doubt Kevin asked. His clenched hands tightly held the enslaving ego. His hatred for Sumayah made him reluctant to even just mention his name.
Salim reacted, hearing Mother's words he opened the blanket slowly. Turn around to Kevin with a different view.
Kevin smiled, rubbing Salim's forehead a little sweat.
"True, do you want to see your mother?" kevin asked. Salim nodded slowly still with his mouth tightly locked.
"Dad promised to meet you with him. I'll find your mother and you can be together again, but you have to promise me one thing ...,"
Kevin paused his speech letting Salim guess what he had to do in order to meet Sumayah.
"What?" Salim's voice was still as cold as when he first came.
"You have to be healthy, you have to eat a lot so that when your mother comes you can welcome her with a smile. Anyway, I don't want to blame your mom for you being sick. He'd think Dad didn't feed you and didn't notice you either"
"Listen, Salim! I love you so much, I can't lose you anymore. Stay by Dad's side, your mom's problem Daddy's people will look for her and bring her to our house. So, I hope you are no longer insistent and do not torture yourself" Kevin pleaded, gently rubbing Salim's head.
His smile warmed up like a real father. Making Salim's heart full and little he can accept Kevin as his father.
"Can you promise? Are you really going to keep your promise? I have to make sure of it" Salim scowled even in a weak voice.
"of course! I promised you. You know, Kevin Aji Negoro never reneged on his promise, and I promised you. That means I'll fulfill it, but, Salim ...,"
Kevin glanced at Salim, the little forehead frowning hearing the word 'but' from Kevin.
"Can you call me Dad?" kevin continued with a pleading look.
Salim was silent, looking at Kevin's dark bead that was currently so warm in his view.
Kevin demanded an answer through an affirmed look.
"I don't know!" salim replied in the same tone.
"Well .. at least you can try it, right? I'll wait patiently until you get used to calling me" Kevin said, wiping Salim's hand gently.
Salim did not reply, his gaze was fixed on Kevin's netra.
"Alright, now eat first! In order for you to recover quickly, we can go home together and wait for your mother to come" Kevin said again while taking food for Salim
He feeds Salim patiently despite Salim's initial refusal, but Kevin does not give up. He continued to seduce Salim by discussing the matter of Sumayah. He knew that the woman would not survive. At least that's what he heard from his men's reports.
