SELECT DUNGEON'S STORY - Nephilim's Corruption

Chapter 3 - Alliance of Alliviah

“Samir, we have returned to this 50th floor after a long time. Are you ready to face the 58th floor again like you used to?” Celia said to Samir who was walking with no expression.

“Iya. We can finally come back here again after so long.” Samir said with his small and barely visible smile.

“Wait a minute. Looks like there's been another adventurer here.” Laris, Alliance Captain Aliviah said to all of its members.

“It looks like the guy just left about 1 hour ago, but very fast because I can't feel his aura.” Ragnulf, who was a werewolf, had such a keen sense of smell that he learned about the former campfires near them.

“Any, but indeed only 1 person has gone from here.”  Laris thought for a moment because there was only 1 small campfire, whereas to get to the 50th floor was not an easy matter even for his group which was a group prepared for the expedition.

“Laris, no need to worry or anything. There is only 1 person.” Ragnulf said to Laris.

“Betul. However, we do not need to look for it or anything because every floor in the 40 or 50 is very dangerous.” Laris said to his friends who were on the front line. “Consider everything! We'll camp here first.” Laris ordered all members of his expedition to prepare for the camp on the 50th floor.

The Aliviah Alliance was an alliance focused on expeditions and was one of the strongest Alliances of the Femi City. Currently Aliviah Alliance will be conducting an expedition to the 58th floor and aims to conquer the floor. All the members of the Alliance were not all at level 5 or 6, but they were all very strong and their solidarity was high and led by a captain who was very smart in combat and strategy.

“Samir, do you know why you were called here?” Laris asked Samir who was already sitting on his knees with a guilty face.

“Iya. I know.” Samir said a little and nodded.

“Then, why did you ignore the order to stay in the defensive line and instead advance to the horde of monsters?” Laris asked Samir seriously.

“...” Samir said nothing.

“We understand that you are strong, but you are still a member of the team. Every action you take will have an effect on the other members.” Aleratha, was 1 of the 3 level 6 adventurers in the Aliviah Alliance.

“Is your current position bothering you?” Laris asked that and those words deeply pierced into his heart.

“Iya, Captain. I'm sorry.” Samir said slowly.

The defensive position in the middle held Samir very much to advance to the front line. Samir was eager to become stronger, so he immediately charged towards the horde of monsters towards the front which should be the task of the frontlines.

“Do not do so, Laris. Samir also lightened the tasks from the frontlines and completed the horde of monsters more easily.” Bromner who is also a level 6 member in the alliance said to defend Samir.

“Because basically I also made a mistake while in the middle line with too focused on making up for a moment forgetting the defensive line and the back line.” Aleratha also said that to Laris.

Although Laris, Bromner, and Aleratha were level 6 adventurers, they could also make mistakes and that was what they continued to learn despite being at a high level as an adventurer.

“Samir, I remind you once again that the dungeon is a place full of uncertainty. We never know what will happen in this dungeon. Do you understand, Samir?” Laris asked Samir.

“Iya, I understand and I'm sorry.” Samir said slowly.

“Alright then. You can go back and prepare the tent.” Laris said and allowed Samir to leave the main tent.

Currently all the members of the expedition of the Alliance Aliviah were preparing a passive defense on the 50th floor and after a night they gathered to carry out the deployment of the team and the completion of the missions given by the other Alliances as well as the guilds. Each of them joked with each other, there were also those who supported each other, and there were also those who prepared anything that could be prepared for the attack to the 58th floor.

After nightfall, all the members gathered around a fairly large campfire. Each of them had already prepared themselves with new before the morning dawned to complete the work given by the other alliances as well as the guilds.

“Good, we've all gathered.” Laris began discussions with all members of the Alliance.

“Our expedition this time is to conquer a floor deeper than our previous record and also complete some tasks already taken. Calia, what tasks have you taken?” Laris continues their discussion and asks Calia to explain the task to be completed.

Calia along with Celia are Kvenalf race women who are a race filled with a female population and have a characteristic brown skin. This race could be called a very strong woman because basically they have more muscle mass than ordinary humans even though they look like ordinary humans.

“For the task we received was a request from the Kyana Alliance. His request was Pure Water which was only found in the middle area of the 51st floor. Meanwhile, the task that United gave us was to bring to the surface the 35 horns of Humperdink.” Calia.

Pure water is different from ordinary water. In the manufacture of healing herbs ‘Elixir’, pure water is needed to produce Elixir with high quality. However, since the surface water filtration system is only close to 98% pure water, then when there is an expedition group heading for the 51st floor, the Kyana Alliance engaged in health and healing assigns tasks to them. Of course the payout is something fantastic, which is 200 Elixir.

“Good. I'll split 3 teams. The first team is the team to hunt, the second team is the team that will take Pure Water, and the third team is the team that will stand guard here.” Laris conveyed the division of the team to each member of the expedition.

“The first team was me, Ragnulf, Bromner, and Alfred. We will focus on collecting Humperdink Horn item drop. Next the second team consists of Samir, Celia, Calia, and Syllia who will focus on taking Pure Water. For the third team that will be guarding here will be led by Aleratha and be subscribed by others other than the first team and the second team.” Laris divides each role and member for each team.

This division is done by Laris to make each task can be completed well and also effectively. Although there were only 2 teams attacking and completing the task, each one of the team members were strong and each team consisted of 3 elite members. So, the completion of the mission will be more effective and 2 other members who are included will get useful experience in the future.

“Eh? I'm the one assigned and not Brother Aleratha?” Syllia was surprised because she was chosen to enter team 2 and focus on Pure Water retrieval.

“I'm responsible for the defense of the camp. This time you are going down because you are also my successor, so you have to learn also yes.” Aleratha said calmly to Syllia.

Syllia was a young Elf who was a little careless in many ways, yet in the depths of her heart she did not want to be a burden to her friends. Aleratha currently trains Syllia as well as several other witches. Syllia is one of the best magicians the Alliance has. Even though it was only level 3, he could replicate every magic used by any Elf race. Even Aleratha who was at level 6, her magic could be used by Syllia. The problem with Syllia is, Syllia is very inferior.

“Come, Syllia. You definitely can. You also have to trust us.” Celia said cheerfully to Syllia.

“Yes, you have to trust in your other colleagues.” Calia said calmly.

“Ba-Well.” Syllia said slowly.

“Asik!! We can be a team and we will complete our task!” Celia cheered as she hugged Calia, Samir, and Syllia.

Aleratha slightly smiled as she saw they could cheer. Aleratha had high hopes that Syllia and Aleratha themselves wanted to see a Syllia grow up to be as brave and confident as any of her peers. On the other hand, this was a good enough condition to help Samir to help his other friends.

“Then, everyone rest. Gather all your energy for tomorrow. For Calia, meet me in front of the main tent.” Laris broke up the discussion that night and called Calia.

Calia was very happy to face Laris and accompanied by her very sparkling face when in front of Laris.

“Calia, I will be in team 1 together with Bromner and Aleratha will settle here. So, I will hand over the command of team 2 to you. Please work well and do not break my trust in you.” Laris asks Calia to take over the lead of team 2.

“Good. I won't let you down, Captain.” Calia was very cheerful and accepted Laris' request.

Calia's sparkling face every time she spoke to Laris was proof of her love for Laris. Even so, the bestsellers still maintain professionalism while on duty. Although after Calia's sparkling face was a little doubtful of her decision, Laris still believed in Calia in leading team 2.

The journey of team 1 and team 2 towards the 51st floor had already begun. Team 1 at the beginning moves together to break through the monsters and split up for the transfer of monsters to team 1. Meanwhile team 2 moves towards the Pure Water source and is allowed to retrieve crystals or drop items that they can as income for the Alliance or personally. In team 1, Alfred was very easy to carry the load on his back up to many times his weight, so their position was very advantageous to complete the task of the Union. While in team 2, the most powerful Samir is believed to show how to fight the front line and learn how to trust in colleagues at the back.

“Wah, refreshing once yes after a deep sleep we go straight down to slaughter monsters for money.” Celia said after around them there were no monsters left.

“You should be more careful. Do not forget you are the front line and do not get separated from the defensive line and also supporters.” Calia said to Samir and Celia who were advancing too deeply to finish off the monsters.

While they were regrouping, Syllia collected some drop items and inserted the crystals that the monsters dropped into the pouch she had already prepared. Despite that, Syllia looked a little self-imposed by trying to bring all the drop items that were there because Syllia did not have enough strength to do that.

“True. It's fine if you want to bring the drop item, but don't push yourself. Besides that's not our focus now.” Calia enlightened Syllia calmly.

“Teman–friends! Look!” Celia called out to her friends and they all approached Celia's place.

It turned out that Celia found the source of Pure Water. The amount that can be taken is very large, but the need is only 2 places that the Kyana Alliance has prepared. Quickly, Syillia instantly filled the two places she brought to the brim. While something strange happened because the Humperdink monsters on the 51st floor usually appeared with a fast phase, but as long as Syillia filled the place with Pure Water, not a single monster appeared.

“Any. No monsters appear.” Calia said while observing around.

“Iya. My feelings are not good.” Celia said while preparing her weapon.

“I'm done. How now?” Syllia comes while Samir, Celia, and Calia are having a discussion.

“We will go through another route to return to the 50.” floor Calia said and directly led the way towards the exit to the different 50th floor.

“How do you know about the other exit, Calia?” Celia asked as she continued to run with team 2.

“Because actually the recluse that used to be here made a secret way to ride and not be caught by monsters. That's the way.” Calia explained and right after running for about 2 blocks, they found a small road that led to the 50th floor and was inaccessible to monsters other than flying monsters.

Without much ado, they immediately climbed the road starting from Calia, Syillia, Celia, and finally Samir. They were shocked to see the 50th floor area being attacked by a blue caterpillar-shaped monster.

“Wait a minute, What monster is it? New species?” Celia was startled and the monster instantly turned its attention to team 2.

Quickly, Samir, Celia, and Calia attacked several monsters that were about to approach them. They were all shocked because the monster could attack using acidic liquid and also if attacked, the blood of the monster was acidic liquid.

“Devastator!!! Impossible.” Celia panicked when she saw her sword melt because of the blood of the monster when the sword was made of the most powerful titanium.

“My sword is fine, it looks like these are just some monsters thrown from the front line. We should directly gather there.” Samir gave instructions to go to the camp and the front line of the camp defense.

On the other hand, Team 1 had already arrived first to the camp via the main road. They were also surprised by the monsters they had seen for the first time. However, they tried to kill those monsters quickly and did not plant their weapons so there was no problem with the acidic liquid. The problem was, the number of monsters that came was too much.

“Alfred, step back and help the other supporters.” Laris orders Alfred to withdraw.

“Good!” Alfred ran straight towards the back line.

“Laris, they are endless.” Ragnulf began to complain and continued to push back all the existing monsters and try not to be exposed to blood or attacks from the Monster.

For a while Laris, Ragnulf, and Bromner dispelled the monsters and minimized the damage from their limited equipment. So, the three of them attempted to repulse each of those monsters in order to give time for any magician to be able to help them.

“Line!” Aleratha came and helped them by shooting arrows.

“Alertaha! Where's the other witch?” laris asked in the middle of her bet.

“They can not advance because damage also occurred in the camp and quite a lot of injured.” Aleratha was quick.

The fighting conditions worsened as they began to be pushed back into the camp and the monster crept up to the ceiling of the dungeon. All those monsters had already nearly covered half of the 50th Floor.

“Zephyr.” Samir's wind spell rang out and quickly slashed through every monster that Ragnulf, Bromner, and Laris had confronted.

After which, Celia and Calia directly charged at those monsters with their bare hands. They both have the official nickname ‘Savage Berserker’. The designation was because they had the ‘Berserker’ self-reinforcing magic that made them convert the damage they experienced into a very powerful attack. In other words, the greater the damage and pain they received then the damage they could produce would be even stronger. However, that does not mean they are immune to the damage produced by monsters or anyone who becomes their enemy. They can still die, only longer to actually die.

While they fight, Syllia fails to use her magic due to fear of the monsters that will attack her. That made it almost produce an explosion due to the imbalance of which one was used.

“Syllia, you must trust your own comrades who fight.” Aleratha said to Syllia.

“I'm sorry.” Syllia and Aleratha answered with just a small smile.

“Fire, the guide in the dark.” Alreatha started using her magic spells while holding her magic wand.

Just then Syllia saw her teacher, Aleratha used a magic that even for her was very difficult to use. Aleratha was the strongest magician in Femi City and it was not mere nonsense.

“The strength for these who desire. Soon, will come for destruction.” Below them appeared Aleratha's magic circle and it was fire red.

“The end of all war, the end of suffering, the light in the dark.”

Many monsters were heading straight for Aleratha because of her magic that attracted the attention of monsters and all those on the front line were trying to restrain every monster that came.

“The resonance of scorching flame. Burn every enemy's. Ash and dust will be thy reward.” Aleratha opened her eyes and all around her were already a red aura like fire.

“Everything, retreat to the back of Aleratha!” Laris ordered everyone to retreat.

Samir kills his last monster and retreats. Celia and Calia exited the monster body and retreated. Ragnulf and Bromner immediately retreated after repelling the monster with great force to give time to Aleratha.

“My name is Aleratha.” The entire area that was in front of Alertha was marked as if there was a fire path both at the bottom and on the ceiling of the 50th floor dungeon and the temperature in front of them became extremely hot.

“LEEGI TORN!” Aleratha directed her staff a second and a very hot pillar of fire appeared in all the places in front of her and burned everything there until there were no monsters left.

After the fire pillar disappeared everything became calmer, but Laris still felt something strange. Although it was done, but he felt something else and he knew it was a dangerous thing.

“Stay on standby!” Everything comes back to its own standby position.

“There is something flying towards us!” Celia pointed at something slashing approaching them.

“It.. Ragnulf, get him. That's a dying adventurer.” Laris immediately ordered Ragnulf to capture the adventurer who was thrown very far.

Ragnulf immediately jumped up to catch the adventurer. However, because the adventurer's throwing power was very strong, Ragnulf also crashed along with the adventurer and landed behind Aleratha. Everyone saw the figure of the adventurer whose left arm had been severed, some of his equipment had been destroyed, and also two machetes that were connected by chains and covered in blood. Worse still was the condition of the adventurer not breathing.

“Aliviah. Nice to meet you guys here.” The voice was clearly heard even though they were quite a distance away from the entrance towards the 51st floor.

“That voice!?.” Aleratha was surprised to hear the voice.

“Carlos.” Laris knew exactly that sound.

An adventurer who had long since died due to abnormal events within the dungeon. Now he's back, but not as a human. Except as a very powerful monster.
