CHAPTER 65.The male caterpillar hundreds of eyes
***Specialty dining room at Dimsum Restaurant***
Zhong Li aka King clenched his hands tightly together. If his conjecture is true then he is not only determined to avenge Princess Jing Mi against Princess Bei Chen Hsuang but will take revenge against Bei Ming Kingdom because it has made Zhong Li suffer and blind since small-time.
"Xena! The hercules! Check for any toxins in your diet!" king's Order.
"Okay, young master Zhong Li!" answer Hercules and Xena at the same time.
Xen and Hercules used silver needles to puncture various types of dimmums on the dining table.
King ordered Xena and Hercules to check the food on the mums not because he wanted to taste the abundant food on the table, but King wanted to know what Prince Bei Chen Yi had used poison against him.
A little while later all the food in the marrow including one piece of siomay in the King's bowl, which was given by Prince Bei Chen Yi earlier, had been examined all by Hercules and Xena.
"Young master Zhong Li. There's no poison at all in all dimsum cooking."
Hercules and Xena reported the results of their examination while checking once again the color of the silver needle that was in both of their hands. The two ends of the silver needle are not black.
"What did you check it with?" King pretended not to see the silver needle in Hercules and Xena's hands.
"Young master Zhong Li. We checked it with silver needles. If the tip is black, it indicates that the food is poisonous" replied Hercules.
"Are my assumptions wrong?" said King's heart.
King was very sure that Prince Bei Chen Yi's little pinky finger moved slightly while placing siomay in King's bowl, but why can't Hercules and Xena find poison in all the dishes on the table? Even a single piece of siomay in his bowl was not poisonous.
Even so, King did not want to risk eating the dimsum that had been ordered by Prince Bei Chen Yi for him.
"I'm thirsty!" king said as he fumbled over the dining table to grab the cup that was before him.
King remembered the tea inside the cup had just been poured by the restaurant maid dimsum so it was most likely the only tea that had not been brain-tinkered by Prince Bei Chen Yi.
"Wait a minute, young master Zhong Li!"Hercules.
Hercules stuck his silver needle into the tea and the silver tip was not black.
"The tea is not.poisonous. Young master Zhong Li can drink it," Hercules said as he placed the teacup in King's hand. When the teacup almost touched King's lips, Xena held the cup down.
"Young master Zhong Li. There are still other things that can harm a person and not poison" Xena said.
"What's that?" ask King.
King was sure Xena was reminded of something so as to prevent her from drinking tea in the cup. Xena took the teacup from Zhong Li's hand and observed the tea water inside the cup intensely. After a minute passed, Xena's facial expression became tense.
"What's Xena doing?" ask Hercules. Hercules curiously looked at Xena's tense facial expression which proved that something was not right inside the teacup. The silver needle King found no poison in the tea water.
Xena placed the tea cup on the table. Then using a silver needle remove the tea leaves that are inside the tea cup. A while later Xena took out a silver needle with something attached to the end of the silver needle.
Something very small. Something that would never have been realized if it had not been carefully observed.
Xena thought the tea leaves were inside the cup and after observing intensely for a second, Xena noticed a small movement under the tea leaves so sure her suspicions were correct.
Hercules' eyes rounded large after clearly seeing something stuck to the silver needle.
"Disease!" hercules shouted while rubbing both of his wrists as all of his hair stood on end.
"What's so disgusting?" ask King.
King, who had to pretend to be blind, could not see clearly something that was stuck in the silver needle in Xena's hand.
"Young master Zhong Li. Inside the teacup, Xena found a small caterpillar about the size of a grain of rice. The little caterpillar is blood red and has four tentacles one centimeter long. In each tentacle attached many pairs of eyes," explains Xena at length.
"Little plate?" said King in a surprised tone.
"Every pair of eyes is flickering!" shout Hercules.
Hercules was disgusted and horrified by the little creature that was on the plate now.
"Young master Zhong Li. This is one type of caterpillar" Xena said confidently .
King knew in his original world, witchcraft included black magic used to harm others. King did not expect that in this Zhong Li world, he could face off against a maggot caterpillar.
"Prince Bei Chen Yi wants to use a witch caterpillar to control me and make me do something for him?"ask King to Xena.
King believes Xena identified how the caterpillar works. What else had King heard clearly earlier Xena said it was one type of caterpillar, meaning there were many types of caterpillars in this strange world.
"How do these caterpillars control people? By making that person in pain or controlling that person's mind?" asked Hercules with an incredible curious tone.
King was grateful in his heart to have a servant like Hercules who was chatty so that all the things that King wanted to know indirectly Hercules represented him asked that question.
Xena stared intensely again at the small caterpillar the size of a single grain of red rice, especially the many pairs of eyes attached to its tentacles.
"It's not a caterpillar to control the mind" Xena replied with certainty.
"Could this maggot be used to kill me quietly and slowly?" ask King.
King knows that assassination attempts by poisoning, killing directly or deliberately making a death in an accident, are likely to be tracked as is often done by forensics or CSI.
Death by a caterpillar will be difficult to trace the truth. Caterpillars can secretly eat a person's internal organs as well as destroy other functions of a person's body. Caterpillar is a type of parasite that is directly attached to the body of its host.
"This courtesy could not kill young master Zhong Li," Xena replied as she shook her head.
"So Prince Bei Chen Yi wants to use a witch caterpillar for what?" ask Hercules who is getting curious.
"This courtesy has many eyes. Xena can make sure she belongs to the caterpillar type of hundreds of eyes," said Xena.
"Hundred eyes? What use? " the words King and Hercules together with great rounded eyes.
"Hundred-eye santet usually pairs, male and female. Male caterpillars have hundreds of eyes and it is he who becomes a parasite in a person's body. Once the male caterpillar is inside a person's body, he will head to the eye and stick to it. What is seen by the person who hosts the male caterpillar, will be passed on to the female caterpillar. While female caterpillars are raised inside hollow crystal balls so that the owners of these two caterpillars thousands of eyes can see anything seen by the eyes of the person who hosts the male caterpillar through a hollow crystal ball."
Xena explained at length about the ability of the caterpillar to thousands of eyes.
