CHAPTER 45. Resuming the journey

***IN THE HORSE CAR***

Zhong Li aka King was amazed to see Xena's nimble and fast swordsmanship. Every single stroke of Xena's sword that hit the body of the assassin, fresh blood pouring from the wound turned black.

It was at this moment that King realized Xena was sprinkling poison on the tip of his sword. It was no wonder that the other hitmen had already sprawled outside the horse carriage due to the poison reaction.

King believes Xena's poison skills are extraordinary. King decides to ask Xena to teach him how to concoct poison or to ask Xena to make various kinds of poison to stock up against his enemies.

A while later Xena had already killed the two hitmen who were her opponents. While Xiang Ke was battered by a special cauldron blow from Hercules.

Xena unsheathed her poisonous sword into Xiang Ke's chest. Then Hercules lifted the three bodies of the hitman at once and threw them out of the horse carriage.

"Young master Zhong Li! We continue our journey to the Kunlun Mountains or return to General Zhong Guo's residence?" ask Xena.

The sudden attack from the assassins made their journey to the Kunlun Mountains would be even more dangerous so Xena asked King's wishes now.

"Kunlun Mountains!" replied King firmly.

"Good, young master Zhong Li!" answer Xena.

The open horse carriage door made the sound of rain from outside sound clear. The rain is very heavy and certainly not likely to stop anytime soon.

King lamented in this world there is no channel television weather forecast or smartphone that he used to know the weather .

If King had known that the weather would be raining heavily today, he could have delayed his trip to the Kunlun Mountains and changed it to a clear day.

If there were no interference from the assassins and the weather was ugly, perhaps by now they had already arrived at the Taoist Temple, which was under the foothills of the Kunlun Mountains.

"Wear the horse faster!" said King.

"Okay, young master Zhong Li! said Hercules and Xena while nodding her head together.

They both agreed with King. Horses can go faster than horse carriages .

"Eh... Did you sleep on the floor of the horse carriage?" Hercules.

"Wake him!" said King.

"A Tu! A Tu! Comeup! We have to continue the journey" said Hercules.

A Tu opened his two eyes slowly. Then circulated his gaze to the faces of Hercules, Xena and King who were still sitting quietly. As A Tu's eyes looked down at King's feet, A Tu cried out hysterically and fainted again.

King just remembered the severed head of the horse coachman was still under his feet so A Tu fainted again from looking at that head.

"Why did A Tu scream?" King pretended to ask Hercules and Xena.

"Because..."  Xena smothered Hercules' mouth so that Hercules could not continue.

"A Tu traumatized the same hitman and fainted again," Xena said.

Xena did not want the blind Zhong Li to be frightened if he found out there was a horseman's head cut off under Zhong Li's feet so as to make excuses .

King knew for sure the lie perpetrated by Xena was very true because if the real Zhong Li was still alive, he would definitely faint like A Tu .

"Let's go!" said King while hooking the burlap strap on his lap behind his back like a backpack.

Hercules lifted the bodies of King and A Tu easily and sat them on different horse backs.

The chariot was drawn by two horses so that Hercules and Xena rode different horses . King and Hercules were on the same horse.

Xena used her sword to cut the horse restraint rope tied to the horse carriage . After that Hercules and Xena rode on a horse that had been released quickly.

There was the sound of the clattering of horse legs piercing through the torrential rain towards the Taoist Temple. Even though their bodies were wet with rain, the sound of the horse's feet did not stop for a second.  The sooner they arrived at the Taoist Temple the better.
