Sources of Ushul Principles
1. Al Qur’an.

2. The Sunnah
Allah gave glory to the prophet Muhammad SAW by sending him as the last prophet and apostle to mankind with the aim of conveying divine messages to the people. So the value of the glory of the Messenger is not from himself but from the Sentator, namely Allah SWT, because whoever becomes the messenger must be lower than the one who sent. Allah says:” Muhammad is nothing but an apostle”. (QS. Imran Ali: 144).

3. Ijma’
Among the rules of ushul taken from ijma are:
ijma’ Friend that “laws generated from ahad hadith can be received”.
ijma’ Friend that “law is divided into 5 kinds”.
ijma’ Friend that “shariat prophet Muhammad erases all previous shari'a”.
4. Wits
Intellect has a high position in Islamic law, because we will not understand Islam without reason. For example, what is the proposition that shows that God exists? If the Qur’an answers, What is the proposition that indicates that the Qur’an is really from God? If answered I’jaz, what is the proposition that shows that I’jazul quran as the proposition that the alqur’an sourced from Allah SWT? And next. Thus we can understand that Islam will not be understood without reason, therefore reason is an unqualified condition in Islam.
However, there is one thing that must be considered carefully, that the mind can not work alone without sary’I. Reason is only a means of knowing the laws of God through the verses of the Quran and hadith. God is the judge, and reason is the means of understanding the laws of God.
Among the rules of Ushul which are derived from reason are:
al Qur’an is an acknowledged proposition.
good and bad are only known through syar’I not sense.
the stronger comes first to the weaker.
5. Friend's Words
Among the rules of Ushul taken from the words of the Messenger of Allah are:
the Hadiths Ahad zonniyah
qiyas is a Hujjah
the latter law abolishes the former law (naskh)
the public can taqlid
nash is preferred over qiyas and ijma’
