After the death of David, his son, Prophet Solomon, continued the kingdom of Israel. There are many wisdom and lessons to be learned from the Acts of the prophet Sulayman who was the king of all creatures.
"And We gave to David, Solomon, he was the best servant. Verily, he is very obedient (to his Lord)" said Allah SWT in the Quran of Sad verse 30.
Prophet Solomon was one of the 25 prophets and apostles to be believed. Allah sent the Prophet Solomon to correct the morality of the Children of Israel. Solomon preached according to the Torah, the book which was sent down to the prophet David.
In addition to being a prophet, Allah SWT also bestowed the great kingdom that once existed in the world to Solomon.
In addition to being a prophet, Allah SWT also bestowed the great kingdom that once existed in the world to Solomon.
He is king of all creatures. Not only humans, Sulaiman ruled animals and supernatural beings such as jinn and demons. Allah SWT made the jinn and demons submit to Prophet Sulayman.
"And (We submitted also to Solomon) a group of demons who dived (into the sea) for him and they did other works; and We who kept them," the Word of God in the Qur'an of Al-Anbiya verse 82.
In the letter of Saba described the jinn as working for the Prophet Solomon making tall buildings, statues, and large plates. Prophet Solomon was also given the miracle of softening copper.
Once upon a time, Sulayman gathered his army of jinn, men, and birds in an orderly march.
While examining the flock, Sulaiman saw that Hud-Hud was nowhere to be found.
"Why do I not see Hud-hud, is he among the absent? I will certainly punish him with severe punishment or slay him, unless he comes to me for obvious reasons" said Sulaiman, according to the letter of An-Naml verses 20-21.
Before long, Hud-Hud came and immediately gave news from the land of Saba.
"I have known something that you do not know. I have come to you from the land of Saba with a convincing message" Hud-Hud said.
Hud-Hud tells her that she met a woman with a large throne. That woman is Queen Balqis.
Hud-Hud calls Queen Balqis and her followers worship the sun.
Sulaiman did not immediately believe the news delivered by the Hud-Hud bird.
"We will see if you are right, or if you are lying.
Sulaiman then ordered Hud-Hud to bring a letter to the Land of Saba.
Upon finding the letter, Queen Balqis looked surprised and confused.
Balqis then sent his men to send gifts in the form of abundant property for the Prophet Sulaiman.
The Prophet Sulaiman rejected the gift and threatened to fight against the kingdom of Queen Balqis.
"What God has given me is better than what God has given you; but you are proud of your gift. Go back to them! Verily, We will surely come to them with an army that they cannot resist, and we will drive them out of the land in disgrace and they will be despicable (captives) in the name of the enemy," sulaiman.
Sulaiman then asked his soldiers who would be able to bring the throne of Queen Balqis before him before they came to surrender.
Ifrit of the Jinn said that he was able to carry the throne before the Prophet Sulayman rose from his seat. Another said he could even carry the throne before Prophet Solomon could blink his eyes.
Immediately, Queen Balqis' throne was seen before the Prophet Solomon. Balqis arrived in the kingdom of Prophet Sulaiman. Balqis was amazed by the opulence of the kingdom of Sulaiman.
When asked to enter the palace, Balqis revealed her clothes because she thought she was passing through a large pool of water.
"Surely this is just a palace floor covered in glass" Sulaiman said.
Balqis then surrendered to Allah SWT.
"My Lord, I have wronged myself. I surrender with Solomon to God, the Lord of all nature" Balqis said.
The submission of Queen Balqis made the kingdom of Prophet Sulaiman more widespread.
Solomon was also given by God a miracle that could subdue the wind. With that wind, Prophet Solomon could travel quickly.
"And We (subject) the wind to Solomon, whose journey in the morning is the same as the journey of a month and his journey in the afternoon is the same as the journey of a month (after all)," the letter of Saba verse 12.
Prophet Sulaiman died at the age of 66. Solomon died in a different way than any other man. Prophet Solomon died while sitting on a chair. His death was only discovered after the staff of Prophet Sulaiman was eaten by termites.
"When We had decreed death upon him (Sulaiman), no one showed them his death except the termites who ate his staff. And when he fell, the jinn knew that if they knew the unseen they would not remain in a humiliating torment" says Allah in the letter of Saba verse 13.
From the story of Prophet Solomon there are a number of lessons to be learned. Prophet Sulayman always paid attention to the presence and work of his soldiers. He can manage well.
When the Hud-Hud bird did not exist, Prophet Sulayman was wise to indirectly punish him. However, Prophet Sulaiman listened to the reason of the Hud-Hud bird first.
Prophet Sulaiman also never boasted despite having a lot of expertise and leading a lot of troops. Prophet Sulaiman also showed his wisdom while resuscitating Queen Balqis.
