As is known, in the history of Islam there are various stories of prophets with messages that are worthy of study by every Muslim. These messages are found in the 25 stories of the prophet. One of the interesting things to hear is the story of David. David was one of the descendants of Abraham, the 12th descendant. He was one of the chief prophets of the Children of Israel.

Previously, it was said that the Prophet David was an army capable of winning the wars of Thalut and Jalut. After the victory of the war, David was made king and God gave him a powerful royal wisdom.

The first story of David begins with the war of Thalut and Jalut. As reported by the Asy Syariah page, David is one of the soldiers in the Thalut army who will fight against the Jalut army. Thalut's army had great courage and a broad strategy of war and science. This is also reflected in David.

Even so, the troops of Tahlut still try to be patient and continue to ask for help from Allah SWT when fighting against Jalut troops. In the war, with the courage that he had, David came to face Jalut and killed him. Slowly but surely, the number of Jalut's troops was decreasing. The remaining troops grew weaker and began to suffer defeat. After Jalut's defeat, David was later made king.

In this case, then Allah SWT appointed David to be a prophet and gave strong royal wisdom after the hard work made by David and other Thalut troops. Not only that, God also gave David the gift of obedience and extensive knowledge. Here God gave the divine nature to the Prophet David, who was someone who had perfect knowledge of Allah SWT. It is as stated in QS. Shad verse 17 :

“Patience to all that they say; and remember Our servant Dawud who has strength. He is indeed a man who awwab.” (Shade: 17)

As quoted from the site islam.co, the chanting of the book of Zabur sung melodiously by the Prophet David also makes the water and wind to be around it to be calm and peaceful. Even in this, Allah has subjected the birds and the mountains to praise Allah with David. This is a miraculous miracle, given by God to the Prophet David alone without being possessed by anyone.

“Patience to all that they say, and remember Our servant David who has strength; verily he is obedient (to the Lord). Verily, We have brought down the mountains to glide with him (David) in the evening and in the morning, and (We have bowed down) the birds are gathered together. They are all very obedient to Allah.” (QS. Shawn :17-19).

The story of the Prophet David then tells about the ability of the Prophet David who can listen and understand the conversation of the birds. Once upon a time, David was contemplating and listening to the voices around him. He listened to the birds babbling at each other. Then Allah gave a miracle to the Prophet David who could understand the conversation of the birds.

As reported by the page Islamkos, since then the Prophet David was able to understand the language of animals. He treats animals with affection. And so with the animals, they also obeyed and loved the Prophet David very much. God then also bestowed this ability on the son of David, Prophet Solomon.

Furthermore, the story of the Prophet Duad is no less interesting is his skillful ability to make strong armor and war equipment. The Sharia page says that Allah softened the iron for the Prophet David and taught him how to make armor, shields, and sturdy tools of war. With the permission and grace given by God, David became the first man capable of making formidable armor and war equipment. This story as listed in QS Saba paragraph 10 – 11.

“Truly We gave to David, and We said: “Hai the mountains recite repeated tasbih with David, so do the birds, and the iron is made soft before him, Make and weave armor, then do good deeds, I see what you do” (Q.S. Saba, verses 10-11).

Those are some of the stories of David, a former soldier who was made king thanks to his intelligence and courage. And he is a prophet who became a model for all Muslims to obey God.
