The story of the Prophet Ishaq originally began after Allah SWT gave Ishmael to Prophet Ibrahim A.S. Then, the Prophet Abraham always prayed to Allah SWT to be given the child of his wife named Sarah, who was always loyal to him in upholding the word of Allah.
Therefore, God granted his prayer and sent several angels in human form to convey the glad tidings to him that a child would be born from his wife named Sarah. However, they also told them of their other purpose, which was to go to the Luthites to inflict punishment on them.
Reporting from Tisahmuslim.com, at the time when the angels came to Prophet Ibrahim, the, so he welcomed them and invited them to sit in the living room and he immediately prepared a banquet for them.
Prophet Ibrahim A.S is someone who always glorifies guests and also generous people. Then, not long after, Abraham came to bring the fat calf that had been roasted and served it to them, but they did not eat nor did they drink the banquet that he had served.
Under such conditions, Abraham feared them. Then, the angels calmed him down and immediately they told Abraham about themselves and told him their purpose and purpose to convey the glad tidings to him with the birth of a pious (scientific) child.
Then, when the matter was delivered, Sarah heard their conversation. Then he came and approached in astonishment at the glad tidings they had given. She thought how she could give birth while she was an old and barren woman (when she was 90 years old), while her husband was also elderly.
Then, hearing the talk, the angels said “This is how your Lord said. Verily He is the All-Wise, the All-Knowing.” (QS. Adz Dzaariyat: 30). Hearing this, Prophet Ibrahim became calm and happy because what he was waiting for was coming soon.
After some time, the news delivered by the angels became a reality for Prophet Ibrahim. His wife Sarah gave birth to a son who was later named Ishaq by Prophet Abraham. At that time, Abraham was 100 years old, and Ishaq was born 14 years after the birth of Ishmael.
The Qur'an Karim does not mention at length the story of the Prophet Ishaq and so does the people to whom the Prophet Ishaq sent. However, Allah praises the Prophet Ishaq in several places in the Quran:
In addition, Prophet Muhammad SAW also praised Prophet Ishaq in his words:
“Your noble son, noble son and noble son is Joseph son of Ya’qub, son of Ishaq, son of Ibrahim.” (CHR. Al Bukhari and Muslim).
