Prophet's Story
THE STORY OF MOSES

Moses was a prophet from the Children of Israel. Allah also revealed to Moses the Torah which contains the 10 Words of Allah.

The story of Moses and his missionary journey has been described in the Qur'an. Just like the other prophets, Moses also had Mukzijat among others a stick that turned into a snake and split the Red Sea.

The extraordinary events from the birth of Moses to the cruelty of King Pharaoh are inspiring and full of lessons.

The birth of moses

Moses was born in Egypt, during the reign of King Pharaoh. In history, it is explained that King Pharaoh is a figure who is notoriously greedy, arrogant, and considers himself as God.

One night, Pharaoh had a dream that all the land of Egypt was on fire except for the Children of Israel. The dream was also interpreted by astrologers and royal witches. The magician states that the dream is a sign that there will be a boy from the Children of Israel who will overthrow the power of Pharaoh.

"We are inspired by the mother of Moses; punish her, and if you fear her, drop her into the river (Nil). And do not worry, and do not be (or) grieved, for We will return it to you, and make it (one) of the apostles."

The baby Moses was finally washed into the river using a floating chest, until finally the chest was found by the helpers of Asiyah, the wife of King Pharaoh. Seeing that there was a baby boy, Asiyah was so happy and wanted to raise him as a child.

For in his story, Pharaoh and Asiyah had no children. At first, Pharaoh refused, but because of his persuasion and affection for Asiyah, he complied with his wife's will.

God also reunited Moses' mother with her baby. At that time, the baby Moses continued to cry from thirst. Asiyah called all the women to give her breast milk (ASI), but only with her own mother was the baby Moses willing to breastfeed.

Allah says in Al-Qashash 13, which means "We return Moses to his mother, so that she may be glad and not grieve, and that she may know that the promise of Allah is true, but most people don't know."
