Disappointment

Reine woke up with her head still heavy. The voice and touch of someone who was awake for him that night, still reflected in his mind. He always tried to guess. Whose voice kept him at peace, all that complicated night?

As Reine was stepping towards the training ground, Robin's whereabouts shocked him. They accidentally cross paths in the hallway of the hotel, the road to Reine's training ground. Seeing that Reine was already not far from his sight, Robin seemed to be smiling brightly.

“Sleep soundly, Rein?” the sap sounds warm. “Very good, compared to my other bedtime. I'm so grateful, thanks to you and the others, I got a better life.” responded Reine followed by her little smile. “Sure, you should get a decent life. You do a good job for us. Not only us, you protect the Underwall, Rein..” Robin replied.

“Well, though it should be a little.. worry about life?”

“I'm sorry, Rein. We will take care of it, so that you do not take on too many tasks that are beyond your ability”.

“Oh, gosh.. You really can't joke, Rob. I don't mind. For Underwall, I will exert all my strength. Even for you and the others, I also very much do not mind to protect everything”

“You're too good, Rein. You want to go to practice?”

Reine looked nodded. “Hmm, but before that... Marc might have to bother you for a second. He told me to tell you to go to his room this morning” Robin asked suddenly. “Oh? Did ya? I just heard” said Reine rather confused. “I forgot to tell you last night. Because you look too tired. So I decided to say it this morning. And apparently, this is too sudden. Sorry..” regrets Robin explained.

Reine shook her head slowly. “No problem, Rob. Thank you for worrying about me. You also went to his room?” tanyanya. “Unfortunately, no. I have to go to the meeting room with Luc and Maximilien. After that, you might as well be there. So, until later” explained Robin as she passed, ahead of Reine's step.

“I? To the meeting room? For what about, yes?” reine was confused again. However, the clockwork made Reine have to hurry. Marc, is not a man who likes to wait or accept the reason for his delay. Sometimes, Marc looks good. But, don't forget Reine's assessment that said that man, was quite scary.

Geck!

Geck!

Geck!

As gently as possible, Reine knocked on the door to keep Marc from being distracted. Until Marc replied, “in”, Reine remained standing at the door. Before long, after waiting for a few seconds. Usually, Marc would have answered a long time ago. Maybe, he's handling a lot of work. He's super busy.

“Morning, Mr. Deval” greet Reine suddenly formal. It seemed, the atmosphere of Marc's room in the morning, made him somewhat. There's no answer. Only the sound of scraping paper being flipped back and forth repeatedly, adorned the situation of Marc's room.

Reine was nervous. He did not interrupt or make any movements that made noise, to disturb Marc's concentration on his desk. Reine could also see the pile of documents, starting to incarnate like a mountain on Marc's desk.

“Someone told you to go here?” ask Marc suddenly. That thing, made Reine shocked to the point of being unable to speak for a moment. He had to gulp for a while, take a breath and was only able to answer. So surprised.

"Oh, yeah. Robin told. If you..”, Reine replied, because he knew Marc seemed to be hastily nodding. Signs, he's only got a minute to have this conversation and maybe, nothing more important than the paper.

One hundred percent sure. Reine realized he couldn't even get Marc's focus off the paper. He was so busy he didn't care about Reine as usual. Or maybe he is...

Getting angry?

Angry at what happened to Underwall the other day?

Reine looked to frown. “You mean, go where?” reine answered back. “Miss Dallaire, haven't I told you before? Answer the question clearly and briefly. Go where? Of course, Underwall. Where else? Describe the. Why do you have to go there?” re-emphasize Marc. His words began to sound unpleasant.

“Surely, to convince my hunch, that I was wrong. And those demons, it would be impossible to go there. And it turns out, my hunch is a bit right”

“Firaqat, or... anything else?”

“I protect Underwall, Mr. Deval. Not for anything else. That's why, I went there”

“In fact, there is an emergency button on every door. Why... You have to go there alone? Facing all the chaos. Like, everything you've planned before”

“I understand, there's that button. And one of my biggest mistakes was not pressuring him, knowing that the mess would cause Underwall to collapse. But, what do you mean... “all of which you have planned before” me.... not misheard, right?”

Marc seemed to step closer to Reine, after the answer came out of the woman's mouth. Marc brought his face closer to Reine's ears. “One more time, Miss Dallaire, I just need a clear and short answer” whispered unfriendly. Reine was inexhaustible with Marc's obvious change of attitude.

“Then you're here, Underwall always loses its security. Isn't that suspicious? Exactly after, you moved here” asked Marc still whispering. Even his breath, it was tickling on Reine's shoulder. “Sorry, Mr. Deval. I cannot answer your suspicions. Because I can be here, no other result of your orders. So, if you suspect me, you should have, from the beginning, you don't have to give me a place here. Also, you should remember. Your friend, make me end up here pula” he said a bit annoyed.

Marc seemed to be stepping back. “I just asked, Miss Dallaire. Why do you look upset?” the reply's getting annoying. “I'm answering, Sir. Not being upset. If you call me on a warm morning, just to be suspicious, I blame him. Because I was in an Underwall cell back then, purely to protect the Underwall. The duties and responsibilities you have given me, as a human being, have more power. You are the one who assesses my ability..” obviously Reine tries to calm down.

Marc was silent, dissolved in his thoughts. Trying to find the right response for Reine. “I think my judgment should be corrected immediately in some parts of” he said a few seconds after the silence began to seep.

“Mr Deval!” reine feels unfair. Marc believed in him all along. Gave her the strength to keep going, pushed her forward, looked caring and made her solve her strength problem. After she attempts to repay his kindness by protecting the Underwall cell, Reine is instead suspected. Everything was like it was turning into a bullet ready to hit him.

“I guess, you will be proud because finally, I managed to bring out that power. All thanks to you. I feel very happy and honored, when defeating those demons.” said Reine stopped for a moment. He stared at Marc who was still standing before him. “Unfortunately, you are not in line with my thinking. Honestly, I'm very disappointed, Mr. Deval. I guess, I guess, you'd be as happy as, everything else does. But apparently, I was expecting more. In fact, very, very much on you. I understand” he continued.

“Now maybe, whatever I will say, it will not be able to fix your suspicion of me. After hearing this, I didn't know what to do. Therefore, please give me an order immediately. I, excuse me..” firmly Reine, before she steps out of Marc's room. Reine thought Robin's words about joining the meeting room were about to happen. But apparently, it is wrong.

Because there's nothing he has to do. And there's nowhere else he needs to go. So, only a secret place he could visit. Although the place, always reminds him of Marc, maybe it can help.

Help him find an answer. Why Marc changed so quickly. Despite him, he has shown great changes that Marc can take advantage of. And one of the things that made him even more upset was...

Marc's answer, about the man who woke up to him after the day of the cell attack.

“Before that, I had one question. Just one. Nothing else after that. On the night after the Underwall cell attack, there was someone who stayed awake near me. His voice and hands are no stranger to me. Is that you, Mister?” ask Reine before leaving Marc's room. “What answer do you expect will come out of my mouth?” marc replied, as if refusing to answer. “Ya or not?” insist Reine.

“That's not something important to discuss, Miss Dallaire. Even if that man was me, what would change? Me, I'll keep an eye on you. Behind you, not beside you. So, remember. You are here, not to fall in love with the romantic guy who suddenly appeared”

Marc whispers at that time, making Reine realize. Marc, is not a kind and sincere man, like Robin. He was just an honorable noble and...

Full of tricks.
