Bound Red Yarn

Carine cornered. However, Sky might have heard his complaints every second. She did, asking to stop being on Gray's side.

He understood very well, his presence made Gray difficult. Even though she can protect herself, she is still a woman. The only thing men should do is protect their women.

But in Gray's case, he was different. The sky gives Gray a life partner, in order to solve the problem together. With that hope, Carine is assigned.

However, Gray sees Carine as an obstacle for him. And Carine, too, was aware of that. She knows, being Gray's bride is just a formality.

Marrying Gray is a must. Not a beautiful destiny to do. Not something happy either.

Without the feeling of love.

At first, Carine did not love Gray. But, as time calls it, it will definitely change everything. Carine's feelings for Gray also, eventually also gradually began to change.

“Prepare, the demons have come attacking this border. Raven reported, the capital has been destroyed” said Gray as he prepared with some weapons. He took a moment, looking towards Carine. “Stay here. I'll face them. You, save the people.  Take them to a safe place” his orders later.

Carine only answered him with a single nod. “What's with your face? You don't want to save the population?” guess Gray random. “You're kidding? You think, I am still obsessed with fighting together with you?” reply Carine firmly.

Gray nodded in understanding. “Good. You should indeed stop such thoughts” responds to it. Gray hurriedly took his arrows, which were in a closet. Carine looked down. He did nothing, other than just staring at Gray in a hurry.

“Should have, I didn't accept your hand. Should have, I turned it down from the beginning” chirped Carine. That sentence, instantly made Gray stop doing something. The man reflexively stared at Carine with a shocked expression.

“You're sorry? Wh why? Because you can't be next to me? You think, I'll agree with what the Sky is planning?”

“I didn't expect, you'd love me. But at least, look at me. Appreciate me, even a little”

“Can only, if only appreciate. Say, I have cherished you in a way, never refused the food you made. Or, answer every chat you start. Hows it? Already, right?”

Gray frowned. “We don't have much time to play guessing, Carine.” the door is a bit upset. “This is the last one, I'm talking about something important to you” Carine said.

Now, you doubt me?” gray asked with a tone starting to rise. “You're on the wrong track, that's not the language” reject Carine. “I'll be safe, Carine. This is just a regular incident. Don't exaggerate your worries!” gray exclaimed, annoyed.

Gray looked at Carine, after the woman yelled at him. “How dare you yell at me!” reply Gray no less hard. “Why? Can't I express my anger? Is it only you.. who can get angry and be upset with me?! Why can't I?! Let's just say.. this is the last” said Carine did not want to lose.

Gray just shook his head, he just didn't think it through. “Stop saying, this is the last one!” hard pushing. “Have you ever... even once, wanted me to stay by your side?” carine asked somewhat pressurizingly.

Speechless.

Gray couldn't answer. Now, Carine is in control of the situation. “You can't answer it. In that case, everything is clear” said Carine, after waiting for a few seconds. Hoping, Gray shouted to say,

But, no. Gray only fell silent with his expression that remained annoyed, like being hit by a painful trap. “No, Carine. I don't want you to be like that. I want, you live freely and do not participate in tasks like this” Gray responded later.

“I will handle the residents. Please go to the border. Hopefully, I do not need to intervene to beat back the demons that” said Carine ended with a formal sentence. That is, he no longer wants to argue. “Confirms you. I went” said Gray. Carine just kept quiet and went back to preparing her weapon.

Not yet able to get out of the door of their house, Gray turned his head. “Stay focus, Carine. Only one thing, I'm asking you” Gray's message. “I understand” replied Carine calmly.

Normally, Carine would be the one to always drop off Gray when she left. With a cheerful face, she would wave and hope, Gray is always covered in safety.

Unfortunately today, Carine is more reserved. He only focused on a few weapons that he would use. Although Gray waited for that smile, Carine remained out of place.

But Gray can't be disappointed. From the beginning, his relationship with Carine was only limited to ‘fighting friends’. For the rest, no words lead to anything else.

The demons lead to the place where the inhabitants shelter. Carine's protecting them. The demons destroyed everything, through the back roads. Really, a plan that's beyond Gray's expectations.

Therefore, he immediately went to where Carine was. He is in a hurry, worried about the state of Carine who is protecting the population alone.

And right, Gray's shadow. Carine has made a protective shield for the residents. Carine directs the demons into a vacuum. And there, he had fought to finish off the demons that were about to threaten the population.

Looking at the wounds all over Carine's body, Gray sliced. He immediately took action. Otherwise, Carine's body would probably not be able to hold it anymore.

The woman did have the energy to recuperate. Just like her. Because their powers are intertwined.

However, Gray's state is also not possible. The enemy is coming more and more. He also could not let go of this situation to Raven.

However, the energy for his recovery was dwindling. If Carine comes into the fight, Gray's energy will decrease. From the beginning, Carine and Gray's energy was inseparable.

Carine's power is half of Gray's.

Therefore, Carine will not be able to fight with Gray. That's why, Gray always separated his duties with Carine. Although, they are ‘soul mates’.

“So, to shorten everything, I have to stay here” Gray said suddenly. Carine reflexively stared at Gray. “What are you planning?” carine asked, not stopping to defeat the enemy.

“Sorry, but I have to do this. It's also for your own good” Gray continued. Carine stopped replying to enemy attacks. He stood up straight with an incomprehensible expression.

Taking no time to linger, Gray immediately stepped towards Carine. The woman, still frowning. He really doesn't understand what Gray means.

Until the moment a sacred sword of Gray is drawn towards her, Carine realizes. “Yang noble! What... you do?” carine asked in shock.

Without saying anything, Gray unsheathed the sword, right at Carine's arm. Instantly, a red thread, clearly visible. There was no doubt in Gray's heart. He immediately slashed the thread with full force.

“Gray!” carine cried out in complete shock, as she could not escape. “I have to finish this. Otherwise, my strength will continue to diminish. And the people, will be very threatened. Because of that..” said Gray stopped for a moment. Slowly, Carine's body somewhat disappeared.

“Because of that, I have to break the red thread bond. You are now.I have set free. The contract between us has ended. Goodbye, Carine” Gray said. In a state that was increasingly disappearing, Carine continued to shake her head. Until the last day of her life, she was clueless about what the man had done to her.

I hate you, your majesty. I will carry this feeling, until Heaven gives me a chance to reincarnate. When we meet again, I hope I can make you regret all this...

“Why are you apologizing, your majesty?” reply Carine ventured. “Should have, I haven't done that to you all this time” said Gray regretting. Carine smiled faintly.

Looking at Gray confidently, Carine replied,
