The City Looks the Same

Luc took me to a mansion room. Like Marc said, he's gonna give me a place to stay in one of the mansion rooms in this hotel. Since I agreed to work with him, he gave me this place.

“In a moment, your goods will be sent here. So wait here. You need to get everything done, right? Mr. Deval bi..” said Luc suddenly stopped. He looked at me, to be sure of something. “I mean... Marc's. Marc said he would give you free time today. Tomorrow, you're just getting to work. So, use your time as best you can today. Tomorrow, it will be tiring” he continued.

Oh, so, he stopped talking because he was trying to call Marc more casually? Nice, lah. Then Marc won't be lonely.

“Hm. Thank you” I said politely. I bowed in respect. Shortly after, he turned around. “Oh, if there is anything, you just contact me via your phone” said Luc turned back.

My cellphone? You're messing with my phone?! It's a violation of his name.

“You're messing with my phone?” I'm a little upset. “Of course not! Why do we have to do that? Your phone, we found it badly damaged. Maybe, your phone fell when unconscious in the incident that night” explained Luc. I nodded, it could be so.

“So, where's my phone?” ask again. “We replace it with a new one. But unfortunately, we can not recover the contacts on your phone” he replied. Okay, I get it. Instead of thinking negatively, it is better to just say it.

After Luc left, this mind full of my curiosity, could not be immediately muted. While waiting for my things to be moved from the old house, I started to think of some possibilities.

By the way before that, Marc did promise to take care of all my control with the old house. He's very nice, isn't he? Until my goods, he paid for shipping.

Back to my thoughts filled with suspicion. I guess, they did deliberately restrict me from communicating with outsiders. My job is a bit risky for ordinary people.

Catching the blood-sucking demons who intend to harm humans. Just hearing it, maybe Miss Cara or whoever it was, was definitely frightened. But, yes that's how it is.

I want to live a normal life like most people. But, the blood in this body, I can't resist anymore. After all, I'm still a child of witch descent.

And that thing, which I've been afraid of all this time. Working here, living with boundaries and, being free to go anywhere. How can I register at this hotel? Even though I checked.

Apparently, it was still hit by mines. This hotel, even owned by a blood-sucking demon. From the noble clan, anyway. I need to get ready to strengthen my body. The training they prepare, I must learn well. In case, they would betray me.

Before long, I was informed by Marc, that my things would be coming soon. And it's true. When my stuff came, it felt really tired. I arranged everything so that it was not felt, the sky had changed by evening.

I forgot, I haven't had a meal in the afternoon. Luc said we could eat at the hotel cafeteria. But as I know from the canteen of the hotel where I used to work, the food menu does not match the taste of my simple tongue.

So, I decided to go out. Marc said, I don't need to pass through the shield that connects the devil hotel with the human hotel. That means, right now I am in the city of demons. Approximately, how is the atmosphere? Is it the same city I live in?

I took steps with great enthusiasm. The shield that connects the human hotel, is at the back door. If I don't get through that door, I'll stay here. So, I'll just pick the front door.

I came out secretly. Hopefully, no one is interrupting my own time. It feels so bad!

Just a few more steps and... Yak! So-called me. “Waaah, exact same!” seruku was a little slow. Everything is absolutely exactly. Even the mesh lights. Even in the city of demons, it still seems to be in my own city.

I think it makes no difference, but it doesn't matter. What makes it comfortable to stay here, is not the layout of the building. But, the people who are here.

To the bloody witches like me, half blood. You must know, right? Yep. The blood that runs through my body is half of my mother's witch's blood. Although I'm not sure yet, I can be as good as my mother, but I will try to be able to match her.

Back to the initial language. For us half-bloods, being here is not a bad thing. Different from when we were in the human world. If we were to openly show strength, we would have been locked up in a cell belonging to a member of the government special forces.

If it was here, any kind of power could be well received. Not covered or caught. Here, we are absolutely free to do anything.

At first, I didn't know about this city either. After I read my mother's book, I knew everything. The witches, created a shield that could connect the two cities. Normally, the shield would be pinned at some point.

This city, too, stands because of the interference of the witches. They created a land that the demons and other mixed blood could inhabit, by utilizing vacuum magic. They used a vacuum, which was hidden behind tall buildings within an ordinary human city.

Therefore, from the layout of the city to the entire building, exactly the same as the building in the city of ordinary people. So, I guess it also made it easier for the half blood or demons from other clans, who had jobs in cities belonging to ordinary humans.

Ah, meet!

Sorry, from now on, I did take a walk to find my favorite place to eat in the human city. If it is exactly the same, it means, my favorite store is also there.

The sip! Actually exist! Although the layout of the door and the seating is somewhat different, I think this is still a chicken shop. I just go in and order. My stomach really, can't be compromised.

“Ah, there you are apparently! Rei!!” someone sounded to call me. Aih, I got caught. I just arrived at this shop. So, I immediately turned my head towards the origin of the sound.

Maximilien's?

Max seemed to be half-run up to me. His face, looks so cheerful. When I looked towards her who was busy smiling happily, my gut feeling began to realize something.

Apparently, ever since I got out of the hotel to be in this tavern, a lot of demons have been staring intently at me. They seemed to have secretly planned a move.

Max is not far from me. Maybe I can step towards him. However, as I stood about to step over to Max, some of the demons that had been waiting for me immediately charged towards me.

This time, I don't know what I'm gonna do. Because Max, stay in his place, despite seeing me surrounded by demons in the tavern. As the demons got closer, I saw, Max started to turn around and step away from me.

God fucking.
