EP 5: BIRTH OF TWINS

Ruby lay on the bed wearing blue patient clothes before the surgery began. His head was covered so that his hair would not come out. Melvin was next to him wearing a special hospital gown with his head covered with a mask. The goal is to reduce the risk of contamination from the outside into the operating room. A nurse is installing a catheter that serves to drain the patient's urine during the operation process so as not to interfere with the operation.

After the catheter was installed, Ruby was brought into the operating room. The place was so cold as if they had entered the refrigerator. Suddenly fear just appeared in Ruby's heart. He held onto Melvin's hand by his side.

"Relax, I won't leave your side." Melvin tried to calm his wife.

The doctors who were in charge of the operation had entered the room wearing the full outfit of the operation. One of them is of course there is Doctor Esther who has been handling Ruby's pregnancy. All medical personnel involved are women, according to Ruby's request.

The doctor told Ruby to sit on the bed. He took a large injection, making Ruby tighten her hand on Melvin. As the needle began to pierce through the area of his spine, he could only close his eyes enduring the pain.

After getting an epidural injection, Ruby was laid back. The infusion needle began to be placed on his hand and the nose was fitted with a breathing apparatus. He never thought that the process of giving birth was that difficult, even he himself felt afraid. In fact, during pregnancy she felt very happy and could not wait to see her children.

Ruby felt her lower body feel weak due to local anesthetic drugs that began to react. His hands were tied to the wood on the edge of the bed. He was just trying to do what the doctors were doing.

When the operation was ready to begin, a small curtain was placed on Ruby's chest. The goal is that he does not see the surgical process carried out on his stomach. It could be that he will scream or make a noise, because during the operation he will realize.

Melvin faithfully accompanies Ruby next to him. He also did not dare to see the surgical process that was being done. Prayers are said from the lips of both, hoping that all will end well soon.

"Sir, I think my stomach is being flapped, huh?" ask Ruby in a soft tone.

"It seems to be just being treated by his doctor" Melvin replied. He himself did not dare to peek at what the doctors were doing behind the curtain.

"Hahaha ... indeed our baby can come out just by stroking the stomach? I felt like my stomach was being scratched by a knife, but it didn't hurt at all."

"Don't say that, honey. I dare not look."

Ruby smiled. Her husband was just as scared as she was. They continued to talk about many things while waiting for the operation to be completed. It is better for them to busy themselves with the conversation rather than having to focus on listening to the sound of medical devices used by doctors.

"Oek .. oek .. oek .. oek ...." The voice of the baby who had just been successfully lifted from Ruby's stomach made the feelings of both partners relieved. Finally, the two heroes who had been waiting for were born safely.

The two baby boys that Ruby had just given birth were brought in by nurses and midwives for cleaning. The babies were put on blankets to warm their bodies.

"Sir Melvin, come here for a second, please" call the pediatrician who handled the two babies.

"Awhile, dear. I want to see our babies first" he told Melvin. Ruby nodded. There were tears of happiness flowing down her cheeks.

Melvin approached the two babies who appeared to be sticking out their tongues as if they were looking for milk. He was amazed to see two small and funny creatures that now make his status officially changed to a father.

"Sir, his son was adopted first, yes!" said the doctor.

Melvin raised one of his sons. He uttered the adhan in the right ear and the iqamah in the left ear of the baby. The same thing he did to his other children.

"Well, which one was born first?" ask Melvin.

The doctor was surprised to hear a question from Melvin. Because both are male and twin, he forgets which baby was born first.

"Em, sorry, sir. I forgot."

"Can't you forget, Doc? Later I was confused as to which brother to choose." Melvin delivers his protest.

"That's it, sir. This baby has a bigger body, so it deserves to be her brother" suggested the nurse who carried one of her children.

"Ah, yes, right. It could be like that too. Her name is Regan Andrea Adinata. This is Regis Andrea Adinata. Please take note because I'm also forgetful."

"Good, sir."

"Will Mr Melvin show these babies to Ruby's mother?"

Melvin looked back. His wife was still in the operating bed. Doctors are still closing the part of the stomach that has been slashed to give birth to the two tiny babies, Regan and Regis.

"Yes, of course. My wife should see her children."

Melvin and the nurse walked up to Ruby. The woman seemed to smile when she saw the baby she had just born.

"Darling, look at our kids. They are very handsome and very similar to me. Her nose is pointed, her hair is white, her skin is white." Melvin said it with great happiness.

"It sucks!" ruby murmur.

"Well, it sucks ...." Melvin is shocked by Ruby's words.

"Yes, annoying. I'm the one who had difficulty conceiving and giving birth to them, why the time out even looks like you!" Ruby was anxious for her husband.

"Hahaha ..maybe because I am diligent in saving. It's only natural that they look like me." Melvin brings her son closer so Ruby can kiss Regis. The nurse also did the same thing so that Regan could be kissed by her mother.

"Honey, the baby I carried her sister with, her name was Regis. If it's her big brother, her name is Regan."

"So you agree with my name? He said yesterday he wanted to name them Paijo and Paimin ...." Ruby was shaking her lips. He remains upset if he remembers the name permberian debate they had done.

Ruby smiled and nodded.

From the operating room, Melvin and the nurses took the two babies out. They showed it to Mr. Wijaya, Mr. Kennedy, and Ms. Kania. The three parents were so happy to see their healthy-born grandchildren. Even Mr. Wijaya to remove tears so shone on him.
