PRETEND POOR

PRETEND POOR
LIVY'S WEDDING

Livy felt someone coming into her room. He told the person who was tidying up his dress to step aside a little. Livy smiled when she saw that Rei was there.

"You guys come out for a second, yeah. I want to see my friend first" Livy asked the people who served him. Immediately they stop the activity, then leave the room according to the request of the bride.

Livy returned to smile. He stood up while holding the white dress fluffing like a princess and walked towards Rei. His smile turned awkward when he realized the woman who was holding a friendly arm Rei. A beautiful woman he had never seen before, but since Rei brought her in, it seemed like Livy knew who that woman was for Rei.

"Sir Rei, thank you, for coming." Livy stretched out her hand.

Rei shook Livy's hand. "Congratulations on your marriage, Livy." He tried to act ordinary even though deep down there was a sad feeling to see the woman he once loved getting married to another man.

Gita who also stood there as if a witness between two people who love each other but can not unite. At first, Gita thought Rei had invited her to come there for revenge because his ex-girlfriend preferred another man. Apparently, their separation was not because of man, but because of God. The Gita is only conscious when she sees the sign of the cross on the wedding altar. Looking at Livy's figure up close, Gita felt envious. It is fitting that such a beautiful woman is not easily forgotten by her boss.

"Who is he, Rei?" Livy asked about the woman who was next to Rei.

Gita tightened her arms, leaning her head against Rei's arm. "Congratulations on your marriage, Livy. Thank you for letting go of a man this good. My name is Gita, Rei's future wife. May we be happy together" said Gita confidently. He seemed unwilling if his aura lost to the bride-to-be in front of him.

Livy was stunned by the woman's attitude. "Is she really your future wife, Rei?" he could not believe that Rei had forgotten himself.

Rei felt heavy acknowledging his feelings at this moment. He pulls Gita's waist to get closer to her as if they were a loving couple. "Just like you've established your heart with your partner, so have I finally found the belief that the Gita will be my last love." Rei said it without stammering.

Although the remark was just a mere act, somehow Gita's heart was touched as if Rei's words were indeed meant for her.

"As Gita said, I hope we're both happy with our choices."

Livy smiled stiffly. It felt like he was shedding tears when he realized that the man he still loved had found the moorings of his heart. There is nothing wrong with their relationship. Sometimes life is not what people want it to be. "Yes, Brother. If you're married, don't forget to invite me too" he said.

"Surely."

"Then, you guys get out first, yeah. I'm gonna get ready."

"Yes. Excuse me first."

Rei takes Gita away from Livy's room. They headed for the ballroom to join the other invited guests. Before the bride and groom enter the party area, they first enjoy the banquet that has been provided.

Rei took a glass of syrup to relieve his thirst. Gita still faithfully accompanied while tasting the beautiful cakes presented at the table. Coming to a party event became an opportunity for him to fill an empty stomach. He had not had dinner before he went there.

"Sir, you don't drink alcohol?" gita asked after seeing Rei finish his second glass of syrup.

"Why should I drink alcohol?" ask Rei curiously.

Rei chuckled with Gita's words. He remembered the moment of their first meeting. Gita's heart intents to come to the club to get drunk and sleep with just any man, instead ending up in a confiding session with Rei.

"I'm not heartbroken, I'm just thirsty" said Rei.

"So, what about my acting today?" Gita was curious about Rei's assessment. If the acting is good, it means Gita will say goodbye to her work. Rei will appoint him as the construction manager at the company. He will be able to get rich again.

"It's so bad acting." Notya praised, Rei instead denounced Gita. "Today it seems like I'm the one acting more than you. You should have paid me."

Gita frowned, "If you dare to say in vain invite me to come here, sure, we better duel, sir! I'm ready to face the Father. I've tried as much as possible, come on an empty stomach, wear the best clothes, and bother putting on makeup, can-can be called acting ugly?" gita's Omelette.

Rei covered his mouth so much that he did not want to laugh seeing the emotional woman before him.

"I'm serious, sir! I'm going home to have to bring results."

Rei patted Gita's head three times. " Already, already ..thank you for your help tonight, yes. I'm so happy." He brings a smile.

The originally angry Gita instantly became obedient like a cat. He did not dare to be angry again if his boss had issued his kindness.

"Starting next week, you I'm putting with the construction manager in the office. It just so happens that he will resign, so you have to learn a lot from him so that later he is ready to replace him. Don't disappoint me, yes!"

Gita was silent for a moment, as if she was still processing the information she had just obtained. "It's serious, isn't it, sir?" tanyanya.

Rei nodded. Gita smiled broadly. It doesn't feel like it's in vain for her struggle tonight to accompany Rei to the party.

Shortly after, the MCs announced that the bride would be entering the venue. All guests sit back where they have been provided. Rei and Gita sat there.

Gita initially thought that Rei would go straight after meeting the bride. But the man remained there and even occupied the front row. Gita did not take her eyes off him. Rei clapped his hands as the bride came out being held by his father towards the wedding altar.

Sometimes Gita wants to understand what Rei's true heart is. Whether the man is really strong or just pretending to be tough to accept reality in plain sight. If Rei really loved Livy, he shouldn't have been able to attend the wedding.

"Sir, you're not sad, are you?" ask Gita curiously.

"Why should I be sad. Seeing the person I love has found her happiness, of course I'm happy for her."

"Then, you must also find the happiness of the Father, so that Livy can also be happy with the life of the Father."

Rei simply smiled without giving an answer. Her focus was again on Livy standing in front of the altar with her future husband. Soon they will be legal spouses in their religion.
