Chapters. 12 - Attention

”Wah, he got battered so. I think he's fighting again.”

”About who can beat Alrez? I didn't even finish thinking. Though he looks like a thug.”

”Shht! Don't talk about it from behind. I think he's bad mood.”

Sure enough, after yesterday's incident, Alrez immediately became the center of attention with his bruises on every face especially he did not know how to treat his own injuries. So, all night Alrez endured the pain in his back and face to the point of not being able to sleep.

”Sonyaa! Your ex is acting again!” rika's shout immediately grabbed Sonya's desk as she was busy looking for calm.

”Apaan is so excited! No one is dead!” resounding. Sonya is very lazy to meet Rika, her own classmate. Rika is a spy. He always comes with news that happens in school and always shares with him.

”That's aloh! Your ex, Alrez! His face battered kayak was robbed the same hit by loan sharks!”

”Hah? Seriously robbed the same beaten up loan shark too?! He is the champion of taekwondo competition in the province, why be battered?!” Sonya started to panic and fell into Rika's lying words.

The two stopped, looking at each other for a few seconds. When that happened, Aratha immediately said, ”Sonya, I want to say something to you.”

”Sorry Aratha! I can't talk to you right now. Alrez is dying! I have to get there!” Sonya immediately ran away to Alrez's class forgetting that Aratha wanted to talk to him about something important. While Aratha looked a little disappointed because Sonya did not have time to talk to him a little.

Slowly he lost his confidence to fight Alrez and prove his point.

Sonya ran through a slightly crowded corridor, no matter the pain she experienced every breath. He stopped in front of a class and immediately forcibly opened his door. Sonya's breath could be heard panting her eyes directly pierced towards Alrez who was sitting in the back corner seat.

”Alrez!”

Hearing Sonya's exclamation, Alrez's attention was immediately drawn to Sonya who was still standing in the doorway. Alrez wore a surprised expression with a bruise that still complemented his face. Sonya herself also looks anxious and horrified to see it.

Sonya quickly walked over, approaching Alrez. Without saying a few words, Sonya immediately pulled Alrez out of her class. It's a wonderful thing for Alrez. Sonya, who had been afraid of him before, suddenly turned anxious to him.

Does that mean I can stay with him?

”Sonya? Where are you taking me?” asked Alrez who immediately slowed his pace.

Alrez was having a sudden heart attack. Her heart was so pronounced that she was afraid that Sonya could hear it. His face was awkward as he rolled his eyeballs in the opposite direction.

”J-the road is slow. My back is also hurting. So, can't walk fast.” Alrez was not aware of what he had said.

Sonya blinked quickly a few times. He was at a loss as to why Alrez had turned into a stutter like this. Could he have spoken wrongly? Or was Alrez wrong about him?

”Ya already, we walk slowly only.” Sonya held onto Alrez's wrist and slowly, both of them went down the stairs. Everyone who had heard that Alrez and Sonya had broken up was shocked to see this unusual sight.

So unbelievable! Sonya and Alrez are back together. Everyone noticed and made Sonya feel uneasy. Alrez who knew it, immediately stared coldly at all of them. Instantly, those people stopped staring at the two of them and returned to their respective habits.

”Ah! Slow down a little!” Alrez grimaced in pain as Sonya applied the medicine on her right cheek.

”Sorry, anyways why did you get battered like this? Is that thug so strong that you can't beat him up?”

”Who said that to you? I can't lose to thugs.”

”Salah, yes? Rika says you got beat up by thugs or loan sharks what that is.”

”I can't possibly lose. Have you ever seen me lose and end up battered like a gini?”

”It looks like. Then, how does the story you can end up battered like gini?”

Alrez breathed. He hesitated to say the answer. He thought, Sonya already knows who made her like this. Therefore, he answered her slowly, ”Because of Father.”

Sonya was so shocked after hearing this answer. He can't believe his own father did this to Alrez. Previously, Alrez had said that his father always beat him every day but, at that time he did not really believe it. Then, after he saw the evidence, he could really believe it.

”You got battered like this, because of your father?” subconsciously, Sonya cried hearing that. He's very sad. He wants to cheer up Alrez. However, he did not know how. In the end, he only added to the wound on Alrez's heart from seeing him cry.

”Okay, why are you crying again? Yesterday you also cried because I told you this. Do you feel sorry for me now?” Alrez reached into his pocket and took out a white handkerchief from there. He rubbed Sonya's face wet from her tears.

”Finally, I could not believe that your father was treating this to you. But, it turns out everything is right.”

Alrez smiled faintly. Her hand no longer held Sonya's face with a handkerchief. This time, she actually touched Sonya's face using her own palm. Not only that, he also brought his face closer to Sonya up to 15 inches away.

Sonya who found it instantly stopped crying and held back her surprised expression. He repeatedly turned his attention in all directions. This time, he was really awkward. He didn't know how to handle a situation like this.

”You feel sorry for me? If you feel sorry, will you be in my life again? I've been lonely all this time. My mother and sister are out of my reach. I want, you to be mine again.”

Sonya fell silent, looking at Alrez with great concern. His words were almost the same as those written in his poetry stored in dolls. At that time, Alrez wrote that he was afraid Sonya would be taken by someone else. And now, Alrez wants him again for fear of his position being replaced by Aratha.

On the other hand, the two of them did not know that Aratha had already listened to the conversation of the two of them from behind the door. He listened to everything. He was well aware of what Alrez said. And he knows that Alrez and Sonya were together.

Unable to hear it anymore, Aratha immediately walked away, leaving the UKS. After all, he wasn't so curious about the answer Sonya would give after this.
