Chapter 22

"It's a lot of food from Jogja." Freya cried when she saw so many typical food Jogja at the dining table. "This isn't Mae's Bik the cook?" Guess Freya because she knows Bik Mae can't cook Gudeg.

"Not Madam. This is all that Doctor Fabian brought. Last night he came here to bring this all for Non Maura. Straight from the Jogja." Said Bik Mae who was last night knowing also the arrival of Fabian.

"Ohhh!!" Freya surprised. "From Jogja!" The birthday Freya who did not expect Fabian would be that determined to account for his actions on Maura as well as the child who is still in Maura's womb. "He's really sincere to Maura." Freya muttered who was moved to see the sincerity of Fabian who wanted to take charge of Maura.

"Darling!! Make coffee." Pinta Bryan who had just come down and immediately sat down at the dining table. He looks sleepy. Last night he and Freya attended a colleague dinner until midnight and one hour until home.

Without answering Freya immediately made coffee request the husband.

"Who just got out of Jogja?" Bryan asked when he saw Bakpia. He just grabbed a piece of Bakpia and he put it in his mouth. Served means it can be eaten.

"This is all Fabian brought in last night. Straight from the Jogja." Freya told her husband. "Maybe your son asked for it." Guess Freya who thinks Maura craves food from Jogja directly.

"Still continue with them." Said Bryan as he sipped the hot coffee that Freya had just served him.

"But baby, their relationship is just a parent to their child. Not an official relationship of lover or husband and wife." Freya regretted the relationship between Maura and Fabian.

"Leave it. They each have their own choices. Most importantly they are both willing to admit their mistakes and willing to take responsibility for their mistakes." Said Bryan wisely.

"But if they end up in a relationship, does Mas Bryan agree?" Freya looked at her husband. He hopes Maura and Fabian really have an official relationship, not just a relationship between parents and children as a sense of responsibility. They are both single now.

"Whatever their decision will be, as long as it is good and does not harm the other party. I agree with you." Freya smiled happily at the answer Bryan gave. As he wishes.

"Maura!! What the hell are you thinking?" Maura who just finished the bath ruffled her still wet hair roughly using a small towel. He was still inside the bathroom and mirrored in front of the sink at this time. But his mind drifted to think of Fabian's words last night that were impressed for the debay that was still in Maura's stomach.

"You may think more of the attention Fabian has given you." Maura looked annoyed at herself. He stared intently at the reflection of his eyes in the mirror.

"He cares about you because of the child in your womb. Not because of you, Maura." Maura growled herself with her mind that inexplicably expected more attention from Fabian. It may also be due to the effects of her pregnancy which has now been eleven weeks more, almost three months.

"You must remember. Fabian's close and your equal concern is that you alone give him space to be close to his son." Maura sighed slowly, she rubbed her stomach which had started to look bloated even though it was not so noticeable that she was wearing a slightly loose shirt.

"I'm sorry, dear Mama!" Lirih Maura spoke with teary eyes.

Maura breathed a tired breath, imagining how the fate of her son who had to live apart with his father. The decision to deny responsibility from Fabian over him made him disheartened at this time. Though clearly Fabian wants to be responsible for himself as well as the child candidate, but Maura refused firmly.

"I already rejected it. There's no way I'm asking for it again. Moreover, I myself do not have any feelings for her either." Maura refuted her own thoughts. She covered her body with a kimono towel.

"But why did it hurt so much last night when Fabian said that. He's paying attention because of debay." Maura held onto her chest which felt so painful it was also tight. Like something was blowing his chest.

The attention from others aside from his own family that Maura had gotten this time really caused him to be lulled. Maura has never received more attention than anyone other than family and relatives. Even when Rafa used to be, Maura was the one who paid attention. So right now the attention Fabian gave made his heart tremble. The attention of an outsider who was so sincere to him.

"Do I have a similar taste to him?" Guess Maura who somehow since she agreed to Fabian's request on the grounds that debay is still in the womb, Maura felt calm and happy when close to Fabian. In fact, he always looks forward to a call from Fabian who just asks him what he wants to eat today.

His closeness with Fabian around these few weeks made Maura forget the figure of Rafa who was always on his mind.

"No!! Maybe it's just the pregnancy effect." Maura again evaded the feelings that arise in her heart. He couldn't have liked to even fall in love with Fabian this fast.

"Why is this feeling so different from what Rafa used to be?" Shouted Maura who was upset by herself with her heart and feelings. Fortunately, his room was installed soundproofing. So when he screamed no one heard him from outside.

"Those two are unsettling. Though he was just silent, but why every time he remembered it this heart became quiver." Maura was angry herself.

He came out of the bathroom and checked his phone. Maura's forehead shriveled when there was absolutely no incoming call or chat from Fabian.

"Tumben really." Maura muttered as it was not usual for Fabian to not leave any message to her in the morning.

"Is he still sleeping? Or have you gone to the hospital?" Maura wondered to herself. It's almost eight in the morning. Fabian must be awake and preparing to go to the hospital.

"Stop thinks of Fabian, Maura." Maura shook her head quickly as Fabian suddenly thought. "Although Fabian is a widower, but he always keeps quiet and doesn't say anything to you about his marriage just yet. It could be that the man is still expecting his marriage to be back in one piece. Especially if they have a child." Maura kept guessing and guessing about everything about Fabian that she did not know fully.
