No Rose Without A Thorn's

No Rose Without A Thorn's
Pregnant

Keira woke up with a heavy head. He fell asleep while hugging the Zea necklace that he used to throw in the trash. Keira looked at the mirror, her face was a mess. Last night he did not change his clothes and clean his face, instead he thought to sleep.

Beeeps. Beeps. Beeps.

Keira's phone is shaking.

Keira took her phone and saw Bara's name.

"Hello."

"Keira, I'm sorry I didn't get to go home. I have to go to Japan today."

"Yes,"Keira replied in a hoarse voice.

"Are you sick?" ask Bara to worry.

"I'm fine."

"No. I have to see you." Bara insists.

"Hm ...." Keira answered at all.

He put his phone down and glanced at the clock on the table.

8.15.

He was late to the office.

Keira took her phone back and called her secretary.

I am not going to the office today.

Keira got out of bed and prepared to clean herself up. He looked at his face in the mirror once more, then he realized the rose pinch was still attached to his hair.

Slowly he took off the clasp, looked at it, and carefully kept it in the drawer.

****

"Sister, aren't you at the office?" Dizza looked at Keira who had just descended into the dining room.

"So, I'm not feeling well." Keira sat down next to Dizza and took a piece of bread.

Just as he put a piece of bread into his stomach, he regurgitated it.

"Hey, what's the big brother?" Dizzah gave me a tissue.

Keira ran to the bathroom grumbling. "Why is this stomach sensitive?"

In the bathroom, he vomited. Dizza, who heard Keira's attempt to remove her entrails, shouted to remind Keira to be careful of the stitches in her stomach.

Keira again sat down next to Dizza who was still enjoying her breakfast.

A waiter gave Keira a warm drink as per Dizza's instructions.

"Still nauseous?" ask Dizza.

Keira just shut up. He lost his appetite. Mother suddenly entered and saw her two children still having breakfast, she sat down even though she had breakfast with her husband.

"Aren't you eating?" mother asked astonished to see Keira just looking at the food.

"Nobody's vomiting." Answer Dizza.

"Why you?" ask Mom to look at Keira.

Keira shrugged her shoulders. He sipped a warm drink in front of him to relieve nausea.

"Is Brother pregnant?!" Suddenly Dizzah screamed in fear.

Keira spouted water that he had not swallowed. Mom stood shut her mouth and looked at Keira.

"Are you crazy?" ask Keira to be angry.

Dizzah raised his hand.

"Why is Brother suddenly nauseous?"

Keira hits Dizza's forehead.

"Does everyone who is sick mean pregnant?" ask Keira annoyed.

Dizza laughed but Mom didn't.

He stared intently at Keira, Keira noticed.

"Why look at me like that, Mom?"

"You're not really pregnant, are you?"

Keira sighed in annoyance.

"NO MA'AM!"

Mom sat on the chair, she was still silent.

"Why are you worried anyway? Even if you are pregnant, you will get married soon." Dizza deliberately makes her mother nervous.

"Dizza, stop your madness!" keira said annoyed.

"Keira, are you sure?" ask Mom again.

"How are you so sure you're not pregnant?" ask Mom carefully.

Keira looked at her mother and sister alternately and slammed her glass against the table. Some of the servants who had eavesdropped on their conversation fled in fear.

"If I say no!" Keira stood up in annoyance.

"Do I have to explain it to Mom?" keira asked still in annoyance, then he walked away leaving Dizza laughing happily. Mother looked at Dizzah in annoyance.

"Why are you happy?" ask Mother.

"Mother's happy too, right? Acknowledge mom is now relieved." Dizza is still laughing.

A smile was engraved on Lestari's face. The next moment they laughed. Keira heard their laughter, she grumbled in annoyance.

"Darling, are you okay?" suddenly Bara was already in the middle room. Making sure Keira's really okay.

Keira who was in a bad mood, was upset because her father allowed Bara to enter the house at will. He could not stay away from Bara at all because the man could freely search for her in this house except for Keira's room.

When Keira was inside the room, Bara only dared to knock from the outside. Usually Keira will pretend to sleep so that Bara does not disturb him.

Keira sat on the sofa, he massaged his own forehead.

"I'm not feeling well." Keira answered honestly.

Bara sat down next to Keira.

"Why don't you go to the hospital?"

Bara then fell silent, Keira was still waiting for the continuation of Bara's words.

"Not a hospital, I mean you should call a doctor." Bara was praying because he suddenly remembered the words of his mother and ate the prophecy.

Keira looked at Bara's face, knowing that Bara had heard the rumor of the absurd prophecy.

"Call the doctor, will you?" Getting ready to call someone. Keira closes Bara's cell phone screen until he can't call.

"I don't need a doctor. I just need a break" Keira said flatly and then she stood up.

"Can I go to the room now?" ask Keira.

Bara nodded.

"I'm sorry I can't take you." Keira. He tidied up the Bara tie and smiled. Fake smile.

"Be careful on the road."

Bara smiled, before he could kiss Keira on the forehead, the girl had already left him.

****

Keira sat down on the bed. He remembered the words of Dizzah.

Is Sister pregnant?

Keira hugged her knees, she was annoyed because somehow she herself felt frightened.

He had a dream that he would one day live happily. Get married, get pregnant, have children, and take care of her small family.

To this day, he still imagines his dream. But when Dizza mentioned the possibility, he did not feel happy, just scared.

Am I afraid of getting pregnant?

Keira pondered. She knew her real fear was not being afraid of getting pregnant. But she was afraid of conceiving a child. He feared for life tied to Bara's marriage.

But if he is married to Bara, of course he must be willing to give Bara offspring.

Keira sighed again. It's enough he lives with Bara, should he give her a child too?

Keira recalled the words of Mrs Wijaya.

I don't want to get a grandchild from that woman.

Why don't you just make her a mistress.

You don't have to marry her.

Keira sighed, the woman seemed to know her heart. If you can shout he also does not want to give the woman a grandchild, nor does he want to marry Bara. He prayed that God would not let her get pregnant.

Keira pondered again and then prayed. He doesn't want to have children. If she is given a child, she wants to have a child with the one she loves.

Keira closed her eyes. Feeling crazy about the life path she chose.

Should I consider what that woman said? No need to marry Bara, just be his mistress. Bara can have children from his mother's legal wife.

Keira nodded again.

Is that me?

Keira sighed.

How can one ordinary word give a different meaning.

Pregnancy is a happy word for many women but also a scary word for some other women.

Can I be a part of a woman who is happy to hear it?
