41. Joshua's Proposal
Four months later
Miya exhaled a long breath .The spring fresh breeze blew caressing his body in through the bedroom window. During these four months Miya tried not to grieve and during these four months also Miya was not ceaselessly looking for the existence of Fabian. He felt desperate and almost gave up, but the people around him told him not to give up and finally he managed to get through a period of sadness and gloom in his life.
Once again Miya saw the ring that wrapped around her ring finger, rubbing it gently. The ring had been there for four months and had never been released. He believes Fabian will come back to him. In the midst of his sadness there is still a sense of happiness, because Isabella will marry Sebastian. Miya was very happy to hear the news. At first he did not believe they would become lovers and decided to get married.
Miya picked up some newspapers and magazines that had already been kept by the waiter in her room. During these four months news of Fabian's disappearance has always been a hot topic of conversation. They even suspected that Fabian had been kidnapped or killed. The public had accused James Kenndrick who was a rival to Fabian so far and of course James rejected the accusation. James now no longer hates Fabian after he is told the truth about Clarissa's death by Miya.
No one knew that Fabian was engaged to Miya, as it was already an agreement by Fabian's parents and Miya's parents not to announce to the public about their current engagement. Detectives hired by Fabian's parents have yet to find out about her whereabouts and several times over the course of four months Miya finds Rosalie crying alone in the living room hugging photos of Fabian.
Adelina, Cedric and Blinda always visit Miya at the Castalia mansion whenever there is free time during these four months. After both graduated, Blinda chose to study again in Scotland, while Cedric chose to work at his family's company in New York. Miya is made dizzy by her other uncle, Uncle Joshua. Uncle who had always been cold and did not care about his existence in the Baskerville family.
Miya's heart almost jumped out and was about to faint right then and there, when the man suddenly proposed to her during a family meeting at Baskerville Castle four months ago before her graduation. Miya did not understand what was on the man's mind. Didn't he hate me grumbled Miya inwardly.
Miya who was sitting relaxed in the castle backyard while enjoying the cool countryside one month ago, she was surprised by the arrival of Joshua. The man sat down beside her and his gaze glared far away. There was sadness in his eyes. This was the first time Miya had seen him within this close range. Her handsome and plump eyelashes frame her turquoise eyes that hold a lot of mysteries about her that Miya does not know. Looking from the side, Joshua was similar to Fabian.
"You still think about Fabian?''her asking suddenly made Miya surprised.
Miya nodded slowly.''I never forgot him one bit. He was always on my mind at all times.''
"It seems you really love him. What if Fabian is dead?''
Miya looked angrily at Joshua how he could say that.''Never think like that. I'm sure Fabian is still alive somewhere he replied in annoyance.
"But Fabian may have died. If he's still alive, why didn't he call us?''
"I don't know. Maybe something happened to him and I don't know what it is.''
"It's been four months. There's no news from him. Don't you want to try opening your heart to another man?''
''No,'' Miya replied firmly.
Joshua immediately looked towards Miya right into his eyes making the girl unable to move in the slightest. ''Why not?''
"Because I still love her.''
Joshua smiled cynically.''Is that.''Then he looked straight ahead. His gaze returned to look far away."You want to marry me?''
Joshua's question took Miya by surprise and her body stiffened for a while. Miya thought that Joshua was crazy right now. Is he deaf if I just say I still love Fabian he's upset in his heart. Miya was eager to open her head and wanted to peek at what was inside her head. "Why didn't you answer?''
Miya took a deep breath."I can't.''
"But at least give me a chance so that I can be loved by you.''
"I cannot and will not give you a chance.''
"I'm still hoping you'll change your mind.''Joshua turned his head to make Miya instantly turn her face away."What's wrong with marrying me? I'm also good looking like Fabian.''
"That's. I also don't know if I might like you and you're fit to be my wife.''
"Huh? That's not a good reason. I know you don't love me.''
Joshua brought his face closer to Miya.''One day we will be able to love each other.''
"I don't want to and can't.''
"I'll keep waiting for you. Do you want to be a virgin forever? ''Joshua again smiled cynically.
"Don't you not like me?''
"I didn't like you at first, but after getting to know you slowly, I realized that you were a good girl and now I understand why Fabian loves you so much and chose you as his future wife.''
Miya looked at Joshua with a look of disbelief. All this time he thought Joshua always hated him.
"Think carefully!''Not yet had Miya answered him, the man had already left just like that.
Miya sat restlessly on her bed. He is still reminded of the words Joshua . The man asked her to marry . Miya could hardly believe it. Joshua is probably a good and caring man. He deserves a woman who really loves him and that woman is not him, because she does not love him. Miya sighed, folded the newspaper and kept her magazine , then lay in bed until she slept. He had to call Joshua if he couldn't marry him.
Scots
The sound of Fabian's laughter rang out very loudly from the courtyard of a house located near the lake. He was playing with Raina a little girl of almost seven years old. Both seem very happy. Fabian tickled Raina's stomach and the little girl laughed really hard."Daddy, stop!''Fabian didn't stop that shrewdness on Raina. The little girl did not stop laughing.
"Fabian, Raina!''Call Jeanette .
"Yes mommy, '' said Raina. The little girl ran to her mother, while Fabian followed her from behind. Jeanette smiled happily as Fabian approached.
" I want you to go to the mini market . We're out of eggs.''
"Raina. ''
"No. You wait for Daddy here.''
"No, ''Raina.''I want to come along, Raina protest.
Fabian glanced at Jeanette."Let Raina come with me!''
The little girl looked at her father with a pleading face, then Fabian smiled "Come here !''
Fabian reached out his hand and Raina immediately welcomed her father's helping hand. "We go first, '' Fabian said as he passed away.
"Quick back! I need that egg right away. No eggs no dinner."
"good. We'll be right back'' Jeanette stared at their departure until she disappeared around the corner with a big smile on her face. [ ]
