“Oliv and I have plans to practice live independently, Pah,” said Alzam.
“What?!” pekik Mamah Ros's.
The woman even choked with the food in her mouth after hearing the words of her poor daughter-in-law.
“His dinner-slows, Mah. Here you drink first,” exclaimed Papah Abi.
He gave a drink to his wife, who appeared to be tormented by choking on food that accidentally entered his respiratory tract, to make his face and eyes red to watery.
Olivia and Alzam looked at each other. The young man knew that the wife was afraid that her desire would be rejected, because seeing the reaction of Mamah Ros who was so surprised and seemed to disagree.
He reached out and clasped his fingers, which were still holding his cutlery.
They wait for Papah Abi and Mamah Ros to listen to what they will say further.
After Mamah Ros felt calmer, Pappah Abi returned to the two young people in front of him.
“Zam, Liv, you guys thought about what you said?” ask Papah Abi.
“We thought we were looking, Pah. We both want to learn to live independently. If it depends on the parents continue, it means I still can not take full responsibility for my own family,” explained Alzam.
“Emang you are sure will be able to support Oliv, considering his lifestyle? Do not let you take Oliv to live a difficult and destitute life like you well,” said Mamah Ros sarcas.
“I don't mind. Anyway, I am sure that Mas Al will be fully responsible for my life, my safety the world atherat, not only the world that died will also not be brought,” refuted Olivia.
Hearing the princess's defense of her husband, makes Mamah Ros silent, and only holds back resentment, as Olivia increasingly defies every word that comes out of her mouth.
“Then, have you guys got the place?” ask Papah Abi.
“We just asked permission Papah and Mamah first. After Papah Mamah ngijinin, then we will find the same place,” replied Alzam.
“Which apartment is in which region? Or buy a house in which complex? Can you find a place to stay?” ask Mamah Ros cynically.
“Ehm... We...,” replied Alzam gagu.
She hesitated to answer him, and looked towards Olivia. The girl immediately understood what made her husband hesitate to say.
“We don't know yet. See you later,” replied Olivia calmly.
“Yes already, if that's what you want. Because after all, you are already married and it is appropriate to practice independent living. But, Papah just wants to remind, if later you guys need something, just say the same to us. We are your parents, too. Never hesitate yes,” said Papah Abi.
“Iya, Pah. Thank you,” sahut Alzam.
Everyone went back and enjoyed their breakfast. When they finished, Olivia and Alzam left. The girl this time carried a rather large bag, to carry a few sets of clothes instead while at the in-laws' house.
...☕☕☕☕☕...
Days pass. Since the two of them asked for permission to live alone, Alzam had been looking for a suitable contract to live in, and not too small for the residence of the two of them.
After a few days of searching, Alzam, who was picking up Olivia back from college, planned to take her to see the place.
“Where are we going, Mas?” ask Olivia.
He continued to pay attention to the path they were walking on at the moment, and it was the path they had just walked down.
“There's. Surprise,” says Alzam.
“Apaan anyway. Pake all-secrecy show,” complained Olivia, while hitting the small back of her husband.
Alzam only chuckles at the meaningless attack from Olivia.
After driving about fifteen minutes from the Nusa Bangsa campus, they turn to a small road that leads to a public square. There, it looks lined minimalist houses with shapes that are almost the same as each other.
The house looked like it had just been painted, as did her boyfriend. Alzam is seen coming down and opening the padlock on the fence of the house.
“Mas, whose home is this?” ask Olivia.
“This is our home. I found this house written 'rented' on the fence. So, I tried to find one that had and it turned out that this was actually rented. The cost is also very cheap. We can pay yearly. A year is six million. But, electricity costs the same water we pay ourselves,” replied Alzam.
The gate was also opened. The young man then returned to the motorcycle and led him in.
“Yuk, we look around,” invite Alzam.
Alzam then stepped in followed by Olivia. He held his motorcycle, then took his wife's hand to walk towards the house.
The young man unlocked the front door, and turned the handle slowly. He opened the door wide until the inside was seen.
“Yuk, log in,” invite Alzam.
Olivia looked inside and saw the condition of the room there. It is indeed narrow, even compared to his bedroom, this living room is very small. It only filled a small carved chair, and it was bound to be crowded.
They then went inside, and saw a room with a window facing directly into the front yard. In front of the room, there is an empty room directly adjacent to the kitchen, laundry and bathroom.
Between the kitchen and the laundry, there is a door that connects to the backyard, where it can be used to dry clothes.
“Where? In comparison to the living room of your home, this house is smaller than that. But in my opinion, this is better than the two-bed contract,” said Alzam.
“Yeah, I was shocked too. This house is small. But, hopefully with love, we can make this place the most comfortable place, where we return after a tired day outside, where we can tell stories, laugh together. Same origin as you, I'd love,” says Olivia.
Alzam smiled faintly at his wife. He gently rubbed the top of Olivia's head, and hugged her.
“Still yes, you already want to understand my condition,” said Alzam.
“Sama-sama, Mas,” says Olivia.
The girl looked up while still wrapping her arms around her husband's waist. His smile expanded with their conflicting views.
“So, when do we move?” ask Olivia enthusiastically.
“We need to buy some furniture first. We don't even have a mattress to sleep in,” Alzam said.
“Continue, when does dong buy?” ask Olivia again.
“What if this weekend. Waiting for your holiday, we just bought all the necessary furniture. But, I do not promise to be able to buy everything, what else is expensive,” replied alzam.
“Ngak papa's. What matters is the same function. Besides, expensive also afraid not to fit this small house right,” said Olivia
“Yes too anyway,” says Alzam.
Both are chuckling. They again look at the condition of the house, while designing what the house will look like they are arranged and arranged.
