LOVE OF ORDINARY MEN

LOVE OF ORDINARY MEN
A proposal

“I will always be there for you. So, we change slowly well,” said Alzam.

Olivia nodded quickly, but her face fell back down. His eyes were getting hotter and the clear melt could no longer be contained.

All this time, he always fought alone so as not to be underestimated by others. In fact, he was willing to turn himself into what he thought others liked.

Leon's best friend could not do much, because basically he was also a layman of moral problems, let alone religion. The young man always thought practically and never took anything seriously, even for one night relationship with many girls he met.

But now, there appeared an Alzam, an ordinary man from an ordinary family, able to touch the heart of Olivia, and give a sense of comfort and security to the girl.

Although the wrong way to get the young man, Olivia is grateful to be his wife, even though Alzam still feels compelled to accept it.

Her tears were flowing more and more, making a sobbing appear from Olivia's lips. Alzam, who noticed that his wife was crying, crouched down in front of the girl, resting on her knees.

With a sling, he cupped his wife's face, and rubbed the clear melt there with his thumb.

“You must think I'm ridiculous right?” ask Olivia in the middle of her prank.

However, Alzam shook his head slowly.

“This is not a silliness, but rather ignorance and lack of guidance. Now, you got me. I'm your imam. I am in charge of you, your world and your hereafter. So, we start all over again from the beginning well?” Alzam.

Olivia frowned with the words Alzam just now. He did not understand the meaning of his last words.

“You mean?” ask Olivia.

Alzam let out a breath and exhaled first, before answering a brief question that came from his wife's lips. As if he was about to make a big decision, he even started by reading bismillah while holding the hand of the wife.

“Bismilbornrahmanirrahim. Olivia, I honestly hated you so much, and even a few days ago I still hated our marriage. But every night, I pray to God that I may be a good priest to you. And now, after hearing your story, I don't think it's a mistake."

"I believe more and more that what God has outlined, there is always wisdom behind it. We were found, nothing more to complement each other. So, I want us to start all over again from scratch. We both build our little homes to love, complement, guide, and understand each other. Do you want to accept a young man full of shortcomings like me, Liv?” alzam said at length.

Olivia fell silent. He doesn't know what to react to. There was great hope in his heart when he heard the words of Alzam earlier, but he did not want to be too catapulted, because he was not clear with the purpose of the words of the husband.

With half a doubt, Olivia ventured to clarify Alzam's words.

“A... What is this, an application?” ask Olivia

“Please say so. So, do you want to accept your short-lived husband?” ask Alzam again.

Olivia was back in tears. With complete confidence, he nodded steadily with tears falling back.

Alzam smiled faintly. In her heart, she tries to come to terms with the circumstances, and intends to accept Olivia wholeheartedly as the wife God has chosen for her.

He stood on his knees, and hugged his wife's body, bringing her into the warm embrace he had given Olivia.

The girl grew sobbing, because she was finally able to get the heart of Alzam, even though it all started from an obsession and the desire to have so big.

However, as time went on, Olivia felt that Alzam was a different figure. The young man had always treated Olivia well and respectfully. There was not a single time he demeaned the dignity of the girl no matter how much he hated her, and instead led her to the path she was supposed to go through.

Olivia hugged Alzam tightly, while the young man tried to calm the wife's raging feelings.

Gently, he kissed the top of the wife's head, and continued patting the girl's back slowly.

...☕☕☕☕☕...

the next evening, after they decided to start over, and Alzam was willing to open his heart to his wife, both became awkward.

Since the last day of the Ashar prayer, Olivia who would usually disturb Alzam, is now silent, pretending to play mobile phone.

While Alzam, the young man chose to read the book he brought from the house of Bu Aminah.

Only when the Maghrib adhan was reverberating, Alzam invited Olivia to pray the berjama’ah maghrib in the back pavilion precisely in a small mosque, where usually the household assistants, guards and gardeners and prayer drivers.

At first Olivia hesitated, but the husband continued to persuade her, and finally Olivia wanted to despite the shame that reached her heart.

Olivia and Alzam had already taken ablution water before leaving the room, and were dressed in clean clothes for prayer. While Olivia, the girl was still embracing prayer mats and mukenah which the other day was bought by Alzam at a fairly expensive price.

Arriving at the mosque, everyone seems to have been waiting for Alzam, who has been used to being a prayer priest, since he knew that the workers in the house always perform congregational prayers there.

They can only perform congregational prayers at maghrib and dawn, given their considerable work and different rest periods.

Given the distance between the Abimana family home and the nearest mosque, the host woke up a small mosque for the worship of his workers.

But this time, all seemed surprised by the presence of someone who had never been seen at all approaching to that place.

Yes, Olivia, who was walking behind Alzam, became the center of attention of everyone who was there.

Alzam knew that at this time Olivia must be embarrassed to be seen by all her workers. He stood next to Olivia and explained to everyone.

“Sorry, Fathers and Mothers all. From today, my wife will join the congregational prayer at this mosque every maghrib and dawn, as we always do. I hope, everyone does not mind,” said Alzam.

Bi Ijah and Bi Marni seem overwhelmed by the change of the master's child. They approached and led the girl into the musholla.

Olivia started wearing her face. That beautiful face, inexplicably always looks more beautiful and makes Alzam's heart beat erratically, when wrapped in a sophisticated boss that closes the crown of the wife.

Instead of gazing at his wife's beauty, Alzam quickly turned the other way and took a stand to calm his rumbling heart.

After feeling better and everything was ready, Alzam began to position himself in front and start praying. For the first time, there was a sense of pride in her heart because it had made Olivia little by little want to change her habits.
