60. Emily's Grief

Several doctors and nurses rushed to the nursery of Emily and her daughter. Some time ago Marvin and Marinka had a chance to see Emily and her daughter . Emily is not yet human. While his poor daughter is still incubated with several tools attached to her tiny body. Marinka found it difficult to breathe to see the scene. How could such a small baby have suffered even since he was born.

Many times Marinka shrank the tears in her eyes. While Marvin was only able to rub Marinka's shoulders strengthen him. "I think Emily had an operation because there was something wrong with her, not her daughter. Why can a poor baby have congenital heart disease? I think all of their families are very healthy. So did Emily and Thomas. I don't think they have a history of serious illness".

"We never knew what would happen to Marinka. Sometimes we try so hard to make everything okay. Sometimes God says something else. We return it to God. He owns everything. We cannot blame anyone for the misfortune that befell us ". Gentle Marvin. For a moment Marinka stared in full search.

"Marvin, what's going on? Why is Aunt Julia crying? What happened to Emily? ". Marinka said nervously.

" Let's relax, baby, let's find out". Marvin leads Marinka into the room. Looks like some nurses took off all the tools attached to the tiny body of Emily's baby. Emily herself was unconscious. Thomas stood up with a blank look. As if he couldn't believe he lost his daughter. Long Thomas tried to examine what happened. Then Marinka emboldened herself to approach Thomas. Instantly Thomas noticed Marinka's presence and immediately Thomas hugged Marinka tightly. Until it almost makes Marinka fall out of balance.

Of course Marvin held back his sense of regret. It could be that this will interfere with Marinka's pregnancy if they are not careful. Marvin tries to hold Marinka's back so that Marinka does not fall because of holding Thomas' body which is holding her in tears.

"I lost my daughter Marinka". Thomas wailed bitterly. Marinka can only rub Thomas' back to calm him down.

"I just don't know how I'm gonna explain to Emily if she wakes up later. I don't know what to say if he asks for his daughter". Thomas is sobbing.

"I've been in your position, and it wasn't easy for Emily. We can only help him understand Thomas. Nothing is okay when we lose it. But at least our presence will cheer him up a little. Don't leave it ". Marvin said as he patted Thomas on the shoulder slowly.

Thomas's hug moved on Marvin. His body trembled with increasingly slicing cries. Marvin was not able to stem his tears. The arrogance of these two people is finally broken when faced with a loss.

Marvin patted Thomas on the back. Finally they unraveled the embrace as the doctor had to take care of the body of Thomas's daughter. With a heavy heart Thomas had to let go of his daughter immediately buried.

Thomas approaches the body of Emily, who is still asleep in the patient's bed. Thomas gave a few kisses on the woman's face. The woman he never wanted at first. The woman he loved half-heartedly but willingly bet her life to give offspring for him. Instantly Thomas is claustrophobic about some of his ill-treatment of Emily in early marriage. No one knows exactly how their married life got to this point.

"I'm sorry to you Emily. I can't take care of our daughter. I'll take a picture for you. So you can see it when you're awake. You can remember him. She's beautiful like you. Again forgive me Emily". Thomas ended his remarks and left the room to take care of his daughter's body.

"Even you haven't seen your daughter's face yet". Thomas said in his heart.

Marvin and Marinka are still there. They also feel lost.

"Marvin is it possible they've met over there?".

Marvin is still digesting Marinka's questions. When their views meet.

"Our son and Emily. Do you think they've planned this? They were together while still in the womb, right?". Marinka said with a blank look.

"Don't be silly, don't think about it".
