28. Misgive

"Did you miss me brother?". Ask the girl raucously. Marvin did not have time to answer the girl named Arina was hugging Marvin. The girl hugged him tightly without being able to

saying anything. Only tears come out.

Marvin finally welcomed the girl's embrace. They both hugged tightly.

"Where have you been? I'm looking for you like a madman". Said Marvin furious but did not take off the hug. Arina finally withdrew.

" really? You must be lying". Arina sobbing.

"There's a businessman who adopted me. Wanted me to be his daughter".

" really? Wh who? Do I know him". Marvin wanted to know.

" Papa Andrew's. He brought me from here the same time I applied for university. He took me and sent me abroad. I graduated this year and I just came back to stay here". Obviously Arina sparkled.

Marvin was stunned that it turned out that the one who adopted Arina was the man he had met a while ago. Auntie doesn't want a story. What the disappearance of Arina has to do with all this. That's the conjecture in Marvin's head.

" You disappeared suddenly. Makes me confused looking for you. It was Mr. Andrew who brought you. I met him just now. Is he nice to you? How's family? ".asked Marvin worried.

"Very good brother, you don't worry. Even his extended family accepted me. They come to visit me often and try to persuade me to come with them. My brother suddenly left and rarely visited me".

" I'm sorry....I went to study so that I could give a better life for the children here, as well as for you ". Obviously Marvin.

" But you're married, and you forget me, you said you'd always be there for me. But you lied".

" I'm sorry Arina. Then what makes you accept that? Didn't you not want to leave this place ".

" You....... ". Reply Arina briefly. Makes Marvin look down full of regret.

" Sister said he would visit me often, but you lied. I saw my brother start showing up on the business news with Mr. Mike. From there I accepted papa Andrew's offer. His family is good too. Only by being near can I compensate you ".

"Thank God if you get a family that loves you ". Gentle Marvin.

" Of course, that's because you've forgotten me". Arina sneered put on a sad face. Marvin laughed and ruffled Arina's hair.

" Have you eaten? ".

" Not yet, brother, I just arrived. Do you want to accompany me to eat? ". Bring Arina.

" Of course, this is the first time we've met after all these years. We should celebrate this meeting ". Marvin then pulls Arina to a large table full of food.

" Well.. There's a spicy meat soup made by aunty grace ". Said sparkling.

" You like it? ". Marvin asked as well.

" Of course, I miss this the most. Grace's most delicious auntie cuisine ". Arina said happily.

" all right.. Let's eat ".

The two enjoyed the meal voraciously while occasionally exchanging stories. Marvin really enjoyed his meeting with Arina. Until he forgot Marinka was waiting for him at home.

From a distance and from a different place there were two pairs of eyes watching him.

Mr. Andrew looked on with a happy smile that gushed across his lips. Seeing his daughter meet his little friend.

While aunt Grace observed with a feeling of worry, anxiety and worry. I don't know what the middle-aged woman was thinking.

Until the night they were still talking in front of the pool. Many invited guests have already left the home.

"Sister Marvin I have to go. Papa Andrew's waiting for me".

Marvin took a long breath. Not willing to be apart again.

"alright... Don't forget to call me. I'll be mad if you forget it ".

Marvin could only observe Arina passing by from before him. With a happy feeling. Didn't expect to meet back here.

"come home Marvin ". Aunt Grace came by surprise.

" Aunty.. You surprised me ".

" homeway.. You forgot your wife today. You said you came home before dusk but it's past eight o'clock". Said aunt grace sharply.

"Yes my aunt forgot ". Marvin said regretfully. What's wrong with him. Why did he completely forget the whereabouts of Marinka.

" go home, don't make him wait, don't hurt him and...... Don't lie ". Grace's words full of emphasis then passed from that place.

" why did my encounter with Arina make me forget about Marinka ". He mumbled slowly while checking his phone.

" God.. Lots of messages and calls coming in. He must be worried ". Marvin rushes to the car after saying goodbye to Grace and the others. Then forward his car splitting the road that began to be dropped by drizzling rain.

*****************

Marvin to his apartment. Marinka who had been in the room then ran out to see Marvin's arrival.

"You're home yet? Why not call me? I'm afraid you know that". He said annoyed with teary eyes.

"I'm not here to worry, sorry to worry you". Marvin said softly while hugging Marinka. His heart rippled painfully feeling that it had slightly dented Marinka today.

Marinka took off that hug. I was surprised by Marvin.

"You why? Why so emotional. Should I be the one who is sad why are you the one who is sad? ".

" It's okay it's just that I should have been with you since. Sorry I forgot the time". Marvin hugged Marinka.

"I deliberately didn't come along so you could let go of the miss with aunt Grace and the others. I don't want to bother you guys ". Marinka patted Marvin's back slowly.

Marvin broke down the hug and stared fixedly at Marinka's eyes. Slowly Marvin kissed Marinka's lips. Marinka was surprised. Marvin holding the nape of Marinka deepened his kiss and is now so demanding.

While inside his head was raging thinking about this woman in front of him and also his little friend who he had just met. His childhood friend who fared the same in an orphanage with himself, the little girl who wanted him to fight his life in the future. But circumstances say otherwise.

His mind suddenly fell into chaos thinking about all of that. Why come at a time like this. When he gave up fighting for his faith. While he tried to really open his heart to another girl who looked like him.

Is this marriage really just for the return? It would be cruel to call it that. Marinka doesn't deserve injustice. After an always-failing relationship, Marvin gives new hope to Marinka and her family. If Marvin left him, what a difference does he have to Thomas.

Marvin dropped their bodies in bed. No sense speaks, only instincts work. There is no objection from Marinka. The woman had intended to strengthen her heart. As a form of obedience to the husband and on the continuity of the relationship later. But without him realizing it, the man who tried him was hesitating.

The struggle was unavoidable, until finally they both scrambled for air to end it.

Marvin pulled a blanket for the two of them. Pecking the top of Marinka's head then rubbed the woman's naked back. Marinka replied with a sweet smile. Also a brief kiss on Marvin's lips. It didn't take long, the exhausted Marinka fell asleep.

Marvin's eyes glared at the ceiling of his room. I don't know what to think.

He has been heart-stopping for months. Really want to forget about Arina, forget about their memories. But suddenly he came. Very surprising.

Why when they are both adults they have many similarities. His smile was effective, his way of speaking, considering it all made Marvin riled up.

Suddenly....

*drt... Drrr.....

Marvin's cell phone rang, he picked it up slowly on his bedside nightstand.

"I've reached my sister, I miss you ".

Marvin took a long breath. Rubbing his face rough. His movements made Marinka a little distracted. Marvin rubbed Marinka's head slowly.

" What's wrong with my feelings. This shouldn't have happened, I shouldn't have gotten out of control". Marvin murmured to himself.
