21. Marvin's Promise

I heard water from the bathroom. The strawberry scent rippled out throughout the room. The smell that disturbs Marvin's sense of smell. Marvin began to wake up from his short sleep. Not three hours later, he woke up.

After helping her aunt in the kitchen and seeing her papa for a while, Marinka cleaned herself.

Before long Marinka came out of that bathroom. With a fresh face. Marvin peeked out from under the blanket. Marinka walks towards her dresser. Drying her wet hair, combing it, then polishing the lipbalm on her lips.

The woman does not need to groom excessively to look beautiful.

Marvin stretched his hand and neck muscles. Then sit his body.

"You awake? It's not even 2 hours you're sleeping? ". Marinka sees Marvin then sets her sights on the wall clock. Marvin just nodded.

" Did I wake you? ". Marinka asked guiltily. Seeing that Marvin shook his head quickly.

" No Marinka.. I just woke up. It has nothing to do with you ". Answer Marvin later. He still continued to look at Marinka who looked adorable wearing a mustard-colored home dress with a knee length. Also his half-wet hair made Marvin endlessly look at him.

In such a face makes Marinka so wrong. Marvin cleared his throat and shifted his eyes after finding Marinka uncomfortable.

"You need anything? ".

" Make me tea and sandwiches. I'll be down after the shower ".

" You want me to make what sandwich stuffing? ".

" Tuna... Or if there are no eggs also not what ". Answer Marvin.

Marinka nodded then walked out of the room. Marvin then went to clean up.

" morning papa.... How are you doing? ". Sapa Marvin after approaching Mr. Louis .

" Papa's very good, son... Even papa's health seems to be improving drastically. When did you come? Marinka said last night there was a sudden job. So Leo called you, and made you unable to come here. But you gave papa a surprise this morning". Speak slowly.

" apparently Marinka is a little bit of a lie ". Marvin smiles.

" Yes papa, there was a sudden job last night, so I had to get Marinka to come first. I came in late at night, almost early".

"Don't be too tired, kid, take a break. You must not harm yourself. Take care of health". Mr. Louis advises.

"iya papa, I understand ". Marvin answered with a smile.

Before long Marinka was seen entering the room of Mr. Louis, while carrying porridge in his hand.

" Marvin, are you here? I've been looking for you since. You were with papa? ".

" Yes I'm here, I want to see Papa. What's looking for me? ". Answer Marvin.

" Breakfast is ready, eat first. I'll feed papa porridge first".

"I'll wait for you, we'll have breakfast together ".

" But then the tea's cold Marvin ". Marinka feels bad making Marvin wait for her.

" It's okay, Marinka, it doesn't matter ". Marvin smiled as he led Marinka to sit on Mr. Louis' bedside.

Mr. Louis who saw their closeness smiled faintly.

She hopes her daughter is happy with the right person. Although he knows this marriage is difficult for them, but both Marvin and Marinka always try to accept and look adjusted to each other. Then a sad look suddenly appeared on his face after realizing there was a Dania in Marvin's life. He must not be selfish for the sake of his daughter.

Fifteen minutes later Marinka finished feeding the porridge to her papa. Marinka looks so tlaten take care of her papa. Marvin who saw it became a little moved and emotional because of the closeness of Marinka and her papa. Then Marinka said goodbye to her father.

"Papa, I'm out first. Later aunty nurse will come to give the medicine to papa ".

" Don't talk so papa, I don't mind. Papa's health remains my priority". Marvin smiled.

"Marvin, can I ask you something? ". At once Mr. Louis glazed over. Marvin approached to sit on the bed while holding the hand of Mr. Louis. Marinka immediately abandoned her intention to leave. And stand next to Marvin.

" Say papa, there's no need to ask this. I'm not your son either ". Answer Marvin softly. Mr. Louis breathed a heavy sigh.

" I know this marriage is hard for you, considering you had Dania before. If you're planning to end this marriage after everything stabilizes, papa doesn't matter. Papa can't force everything on you either. But if that's the case, promise not to ignore my daughter. She has no one but dad and aunt Elly. At least give him enough stock to be able to manage his own company. Papa is like this. Papa's afraid he can't stay with you for long ".

Marinka froze. His eyes feel hot. Marvin clasped Mr. Louis' hand.

" I promise you, papa, no matter what happens, I won't leave her. You can keep my promise". Marvin said. Marinka turned to Marvin. I can't believe Marvin can say that. And what about Dania.

Mr. Louis smiled with relief. Marvin pleads with Marinka. Marvin then walked while holding Marinka's hand. Then Marinka stopped, making Marvin who was walking next to her come to a stop.

"What's wrong? ". Marvin didn't understand.

Marinka tried to answer but her tongue was twisted.

" Marvin, why did you make such a promise with papa..? ". Mouthful Marinka.

" why? I just want to keep Papa's mind calm. Don't let him think of anything heavy. It could affect his health ". Obviously Marvin.

" But you don't have to lie to appease Marvin ". Marinka said slowly.

"What lie? I don't understand what you mean". Marvin's gaze began to sharpen. Make Marinka duck.

"Speak, what do you mean? ".

" You know our relationship is complicated, Dania's still expecting you. And you can't get away from it either. So does aunt mouli, she's expecting a lot on your relationship. So don't burden your life by promising Papa. You don't have to lie to calm him down ". Marinka is slowly.

" Lied you said? Marinka. But I've never messed with this wedding. I'm trying to play my role as your husband to protect you and give you a sense of security and comfort. It's hard, but I'll try. So don't think about ending this relationship".So Marvin said, holding Marinka's hands tightly. Marinka looked up at Marvin.

"But I'm afraid to rely on you ".

" That's okay.. Be dependent.. Marinka hang all you want. While I can still count on you, I don't mind". Marvin smiled sincerely.

"What about aunt mouli? And Dania? ".

" I can't ignore them completely for now. Auntie Mouli is like my mother. But the truth is you've become my wife. You are my priority. But please don't think badly if I'm with Dania. We all need time. I will try to put you first as I can ". Obviously Marvin.

" Thanks... ". Marinka said.
