I froze for a long time in front of the ATM machine, disappointed and the mounting pain no longer able to make my tears well up. I can only pray and hope GOD hears my prayer to give me a strong shoulder.
Maybe it's Mas Bayu's strategy that I call him, then beg him for the right to live. Then, he would corner me who chose to leave him alone. He's wrong, I'm not gonna do that. It is better to lean on the Almighty, to pick up my own rupiah than to beg my husband.
I'm holding my wallet, keeping my long breath. I have my own savings, the rest of my salary while still working first, but I have used it to pay for the rent of the house so that there is little balance left. Just a week of work, still a long time if I hope on my monthly salary later.
It's okay, I really have to start being able to finance my life and Fahmi without the help of Mas Bayu again, from now on. My heart was bleeding, feeling completely removed, but there was no way I could continue to expect from it.
With trembling hands, I finally took my own savings though it would not be enough to last until the end of the month. Ah, that woman is back in trouble for me. It is not enough to just seize my husband, now he is able to make Mas Bayu have the heart to stop the cost of living for his own baby.
I stared at the glass on the side of the ATM room, looking at myself from head to toe. Dini is indeed much higher than me, my face is also not as tight as that woman. I closed my eyes and held back the pain, breathing out a long breath of jealousy in the woman of my husband's past. I can do better than that woman, I'll prove, yes I can.
Along the way to the office, only Fahmi's face was imagined, making me determined there would be no more crying lamenting my misfortune. Enough is enough I hope Mas Bayu will return to be the priest of my small family. I've tried to sow our closeness again, but she still drunk Dini charm.
Hounded, I sped into the workroom. It was a bit late to enter the office because my mind was empty since the ATM machine earlier, so I did not dare to drive my car fast. Do not let my boss know I am not on time, can reduce his consideration to still choose me meet the criteria can remain in the presentation later.
"I'm the briefing team, they don't have anything I see suspicious about not agreeing with you that presentation" Luluk immediately invited me to discuss the fate of my presentation.
"Sssst.. later in the afternoon we discuss it, there are still two days left. I have a new advertising order that needs to be finished this afternoon. Later Mr. Kevin upset again if I do not work professionally" said I seriously, then immediately prepare a laptop.
"Alright, alright. I also have a job, we will discuss it again" Luluk gave his two thumbs up to give me spirit.
Instantly we were busy struggling to pursue the target of the church in the closing hunt. Time rolled without feeling, the atmosphere was so silent as a ringing tone of the call rang loudly from my phone that afternoon.
I stared at the screen of my phone read a name that I really want to get to the bottom of the deepest belly of the earth, Mas Bayu.
"Yes, Mas?" ask me after saying hello.
"Why not go to school today? What kind of mother are you, a child can not go to school but do not make a permit to his homeroom! Don't be pretentious to stop by the child if you can't take care of it well!" Mas Bayu yelled at me with his baritone voice until my ears buzzed.
I was so shocked, I couldn't believe my husband's words. Fahmi didn't go to school? where possible.
"What the hell are you, Mom? I drove Fahmi to the school gate this morning. Don't make it up."
"Well, aren't you at school, you still don't believe me? Try to open the WA message, there must be a chat from his homeroom class. It's so sloppy, there's an important chat that you don't know, huh?" Mas Bayu scolded me with great anger.
With trembling, I immediately looked for a chat message that was meant by Mas Bayu. Being hunted to get the job done made me ignore the messages coming from the green app.
I read a message from Fahmi's homeroom teacher asking him why Fahmi didn't go to school, the message came in from eight this morning. Obviously I ignored, at that time I just arrived at the office and was immediately busy starting my work which was limited by grace time.
"Have you read the message? Find Fahmi now! I called the boy but he answered, now his phone is not active. If something bad happens to my son, I won't forgive you, understand?"
"OKAY. I don't want to fight this time. You search anywhere whatever, I'll look around the school maybe the security guard sees the direction it goes." Bayu ended our debate.
Immediately I closed the call, sniffling over to Luluk who was looking at me in confusion since I received the call earlier.
"What's wrong?" ask Luluk to be worried.
"Fahmi went somewhere, she didn't get into her school. I'm sure he entered the gate this morning, but....."
"Hurry and find Fahmi." Luluk cut my stuffing while rubbing my back.
"Please, don't let Mr. Kevin know about my household. Please tell me another reason if he looks for me until later in the afternoon. I may not be able to participate in a real presentation."
Luluk nodded quickly, then asked me to immediately look for Fahmi.
Thumping, I tried to step up to hold back the agitation that made my legs limp. Bad thoughts passed, fearing that my son would be depressed because of my separation from his father.
I often see juvenile delinquency triggered disappointment in the behavior of his father who remarried. Will my son experience that too? although my little heart is not sure, but everything is possible even though I know Fahmi as a big-spirited child.
Repeatedly tried to call Fahmi's phone number, but I could not call it. Everything in my head right now is just about my son. Where, why would you lie to me by pretending to go to school but not in his class.
As in the support of the extraordinary power that a mother has, I who stepped on the island was now able to race on the streets to find my son.
I remember, if there was any strangeness in Fahmi's attitude this morning before arriving at his school.
"Later, the mother picked him up a little late is okay, I have a group assignment so done first in the school library." Fahmi said after Salim before entering through the school gate.
I rubbed my face with a huff, should I just wait until later in the afternoon according to Fahmi's promise when asking to be picked up late? Wouldn't he be waiting for me at the school gate later in the afternoon even if he didn't go to school? How about this, I dare not take the risk by just waiting until the afternoon. But where should I look for Fahmi.
Mas Bayu called me while I was still circling down the street, staring at the corner of the road I was walking through.
"It has. I found Fahmi. The school security guard saw him when he left, your son turned to find an excuse so the security guard was not suspicious. You're here, Fahmi don't want me to take him with me. Educate him properly, or I'll put him in a school with a dormitory. All because you are arrogant feel smart to find your own money. Come quickly, I'll wait!"
I was about to ask, where should I pick up Fahmi, when I heard the faint-sayup of an owner of a sedayu voice that I knew very well talking to Mas Bayu.
"Have it, just take Fahmi to his mother, we have two plans that are more important, right?"
That's Dini's voice? That woman's voice made my mind go back to being unsettled. The woman has lost her sanity, she always just tackles wherever Mas Bayu goes.
