Chapter 40's

This morning at the central Jakarta TPU location, many mourners arrived to escort the late Vey to his final resting place. More precisely the mad woman Vey's replacement.

People play their own acting. Like Bagas acting in mourning to trick Renata. Renata also attended Vey's funeral and acted in tears.

Maybe only Davin, Sarah, Rizal, Devano and the people who had been siding with Vey were really grieving.

Davin stared unblinkingly, as Vey's replacement body had been inserted in the burrow. Don't ask how Davin feels right now. His heart was broken, even he regretted not being able to protect the secretary he loved.

Someone pulls Renata's hand and takes her away from Vey's burial site. Then he pushed Renata's body until his body hit a big tree.

"Devano. What do you want?" renata said in a loud tone. Devano immediately silenced Renata's mouth using his hand.

"It's definitely all you do, isn't it? You paid someone to kill Vey!!"

Renata rebelled. "Don't accuse me without proof. Where's the evidence that I told someone to kill Vey?"

"Without any evidence I know the mastermind of Vey's death. A greedy woman like you can justify any means for money. Even this time you managed to kill Vey. Didn't you also cause the car accident between Vey and Davin?"

"Please..please!!" renata shouted, as Devano strangled him.

If in the past Devano loved the woman in front of him very much. Now Devano hates Renata a lot, starting from the way Renata deceived him, leaving him, what else because Renata had killed Vey.

Some mourners approached the two of them and tried to release Devano's hand which strangled Renata's neck.

"Sir, release. You can go to jail until you kill Renata!!" said one of the mourners.

"Sadly, even I am not afraid in prison as long as this woman dies" Devano said, fed up with Renata's actions.

Even Davin did not pay attention to the commotion that occurred. He remained silent, kept staring at the mound of earth that had been studded with roses and there was a mahesan engraved Vey's name.

Davin's heart is completely broken right now. He lost someone a second time. To date, his memory has not been restored. Amnesia is total amnesia. All the old memories had been lost, let alone the effects of the Renata-administered medicine that still had not all come out of his body.

Different from Bagas. He smiled obliquely seeing Devano strangling Renata. Even he was supportive if Devano killed Renata all together.

From a distance, Vey was wearing a black hoodie, black-eyed and black-masked. His body and face were completely covered so that no one could recognize him.

She saw her husband look grieving next to his surrogate woman's navel. It felt like Vey was running around hugging Davin. And said he was alive and the one who died wasn't him.

But Bagas was warning him. For a while Vey must not show himself in public, that he is not dead.

"Mas Davin, please. Why are you there and not helping me. Look at this crazy guy trying to kill me, mas!!" shouted Renata.

"If your presence only makes trouble at this cemetery, better get out of here. It's a funeral, not a football field, that you can make scream as you please!!" snapped Bagas who had been silent.

"Go Renata!!" davin's orders, without looking in his direction.

Renata is upset by Davin's indifferent attitude towards her. Even Davin would rather stare at the mound of land in front of him than Renata.

Renata stomped his feet and left the location. Devano wants to chase him and will kill him. But his hand is still blocked by mourners.

The weather that morning was not okay. The sky looked cloudy and the mourners one by one left the TPU before it rained.

Only Davin remained who was still at home staring at the mound of land in front of him. He held back his tears. It was only after the mourners had gone all out that Davin's tears were spilled.

He felt like he had really lost Vey. All his memories with Vey, when Vey became his secretary revolved in his mind. 

"I'm sorry, Vey. I'm sorry I couldn't protect you!!"

The rain fell all over Davin. But the man still did not want to rise up leaving the location. His left hand held the tombstone, while his left hand squeezed the flowers scattered over the mound of earth, the tomb of Vey's successor.

"Do you want to die and catch up with Vey? Don't you see your body soaking wet?" 

There was a heavy voice reprimanding Davin, who was none other than Bagas. Due to Vey's request, Bagas returns to the TPU only to take Davin away from the location.

Vey wins in the car seeing her husband's current condition. He really didn't expect, Davin would absorb it.

"Wakeup. Vey will be sad to see you're this weak!!"

Davin shook his head, not wanting to get up. It was intentional that he wanted to torture himself or even that he wanted to die in order to catch up with Vey.

"Wake up, don't be a fool."

Bagas incessantly persuaded Davin, although his persuasion was crude. Seeing that Davin did not rise, Bagas coded his people to take care of Davin.

"Basin the weak man. Why should I have a sister-in-law as weak as her!!" gerutu Bagas, seeing his men drugging Davin, then took him into the car.

Vey got out of the car, approached her brother. She ran to see her husband drugged by his brother's men.

"Sister. What are you doing my husband, huh?" vey protest.

"Your husband is too weak. It's just that way to get him out of here. Do you want to see your husband die in a lightning bolt over that woman's grave? not very funny, Vey."

"Where are you going?" he added, when he saw Vey approaching Davin. 

Even now Davin has been in the car in a collapsed condition and soaked. Vey was about to get in the car with her husband. But Bagas pulled his brother's hoodie collar.

"Don't make the plans we've put together just because of your stupidity, Vey. Get back in the car, let your husband take care of them," Bagas's orders are absolute and inviolable.

Forcibly, Vey leaves Davin with her brother's men. Even her gaze was reluctant to miss, just kept looking at the car in which there was her husband.

Vey has got into the car with Bagas. Bagas glanced at his sister who kept looking back. Even Bagas exhaled his coarse breath.

"Love is really troublesome. There is so much drama in it!!" bagas said, start the engine of his car.

Vey's gaze turned to look at her brother. "I swear you're pregnant with a woman, brother. Let you know what love is!!" chirp Vey, then his gaze focused on the path he was going through. Bagas just clucked at his sister's words.
