Guarding the Bear

After Mama, Om Hasa and Aunt Ira left, I went to the toilet to clean myself. When I returned with clean and neat clothes with a refreshing aroma I saw Kak Iyash sleeping.

His haughty face was invisible if he closed his eyes. Only the face of a good man who would help selflessly. He didn't ask me to thank him, nor did he ask me to return the favor. I hope this good prejudice is true.

Instead of me waiting for him to wake up and we fighting again, I'd rather eat. It just so happened that Mama had brought me my favorite meal, macaroni schotel.

While enjoying breakfast, my phone rang. Incoming call from Yuri. I haven't heard his voice in a long time. Ever since he worked at a foreign company, he's been very busy and there's no time for me to leave. I'm the only one who hasn't really gotten a job. Yesterday I said it was just an ad, not a real job because I didn't want that arrogant guy to insult my abilities anymore.

“Bu Yur,” my handkerchief on phone.

“Mak Cha, how are you, long time no news. I heard you were kidnapped last night?”

“Ish.” I rolled my lazy eyeball.

“Ih, your mom called last night, she asked if I knew Ellen. I said no, who is he, Cha?”

“Friends SMP-ku.”

“So I saw him enter the news show this morning same guy.”

“Marlo, that means?” my many.

“Iya, the.”

“She's her sister Ellen.” I took a deep breath while looking at Brother Iyash who was still asleep. “Yesterday I announced in groups, if I need a job.”

“Oh, yes, heem, I also read, keep?”

“Ellen japri, he said that at work, again need new employees.”

“You don't know what he works for?”

“He didn't say. He said he couldn't be called clearly. Last night I came to his house, but he didn't say. Udahlah, suddenly ask you to leave for work.”

“There you were framed?”

“At first I thought so too.”

“Eh. Why find work again, instead of already working?”

“I was not accepted to work there, ‘kan already said.”

“Oh yes.”

I saw Brother Iyash looking at me. I don't know since when he eavesdropped on my conversation. Maybe I was too noisy to wake her up.

“Cha?”

“Hm?”

“So, how did you get away from them?”

“There's a hero berhelm come help me.”

Yuri laughs. “Hero berhelm?”

I've been itching to tell this to my high school friend. I saw Brother Iyash staring at me sharply. I flicked my lips while raising my shoulders. I don't care because I deliberately want to talk about it to Yuri and in front of her people directly.

“Iya. Culun no really? But, he was good too, although finally his right hand had to be shot.”

“What?”

I see Brother Iyash glaring.

“Yur, yes, I have a duty to take care of him. I'll tell you again.”

“Ih, you are curious.”

I smiled a little.

“Yes, rest first. Greetings to your helmeted hero.”

“Ngak ah.”

Immediately I turned off my phone with Yuri, and then I saw Brother Iyash. However, the man immediately turned his face away from me.

“Ngak.”

“You eat?”

“Ngak.”

Kutatap tray contains white rice complete with side dishes. In addition to the food served by the hospital there is also a warm tea that looks still smoke. Kulrik also had his right hand propped up by arm sling. Maybe he's hungry, just don't dare tell me.

I sat next to him right on the bed. “Sini Kak, Icha bribe,” I said as I picked up the tray and put it on my lap.

By saying my name, it doesn't mean I'm softening up against him. He's still the annoying guy who once hurt me with his words, only I realize with his helplessness he's here, it's all because to save me. I probably owe him my life.

“Kak,” call me slowly while bringing the spoon closer to the front of his face. However, Brother Iyash did not eat it right away, he looked at me instead. “Eating,” my door is soft.

Slowly Brother Iyash brought his mouth closer to the spoon I was holding. He chewed it, but stared at the window.

I lowered my head and was busy with my phone. The news about Ellen was posted in several groups. I just read without any intention of replying to it.

“Please get my HP in the drawer.” A voice instructs.

I quickly lifted my face and looked at him, then went down and kept the tray to the table. I got the bear's cell phone without saying much.

“Eat again,” I said as I returned to my original position. I brought the spoon closer to her mouth and she ate quietly, even without looking at me at all.

Suddenly his phone rang. However, he ignored the call until the ringing sound was heard no more. It makes me curious. However, I don't really care because I know my limits.

I still bribed him until his phone rang again. Then he looked at me. “You can come out for a while, I have to accept phone.”

I was staring at him. Maybe it's too personal for me to hear. “OK,” I said no objection.

I got up and put a tray on the table. I saw that he had received the call, but did not speak. I think he was really waiting for me to leave that place.

I was sitting in a corridor far enough from the room because like the message, I couldn't eavesdrop.

I was busy playing my phone and not paying attention to people passing by. Until a few minutes I waited, suddenly several nurses and one person passed me. They then entered the room of Iyash.

I immediately followed them into the room. I see Brother Iyash has finished taking the call. His face looked like he had just let go of the burden. I approached and I saw him talking to the Doctor, and then the Doctor checked his condition, one of the nurses wrote down something the Doctor had instructed, while the other nurse prepared medicine.

Iyash's sister grimaced as the Doctor injected the medicine. I want to see his expression closer. Perhaps as the bullet pierced through the deepest part of his skin, his expression was more shameful than this. Maybe that's why he covered his face with a helmet.

“Dok, I can already go home, ‘kan?” ask Brother Iyash.

Doctor smile. “At least twenty-four hours after operation, Sir.”

“But, this is important, Doc, I have to go.”

I'm stunned, I think it's related to the phone she received earlier.

“If for now not yet, too vulnerable, sir.”

Brother Iyash sighed. He then glanced at me. I can't say anything, if he wants to go home, let it go, risk him taking it upon himself. Stubborn people don't seem preventable, I'm sure.

“Free a day, Doc,” says Kak Iyash.

The woman in white until sighed because maybe she just met a patient who did not care about her own health.

“I know really, Doc my condition, I feel that I am fine,” strong Brother Iyash.

“Kak,” my jerk is upset. “Why, where are you going?”

“You are quiet,” said Brother Iyash.

I snort. “Dok, if he wants to go, justin aja, risk him alone.”

The doctor smiled at us, a second later he and his entourage left. I don't think the doctor cares either.

“Ngapain you here?” ask Brother Iyash.

“Party who wants to? If it wasn't for Aunt Ira asking, I'd have come home from earlier.”

“Then what are you doing here?”

“Ya. Do not ask for any help, if you need anything take it yourself,” my snoring while taking a goodie bag on the table, after that I then leave.
